The hike to the falls is easy, beautiful scenery along the way. Path is narrow in certain points and heavily trafficked.

this is a relatively easy moderate Trail with beautiful views. It's nice to do the hike up over the Ridge and get away from the loud sounds of the river and end of The Quiet of the forest. the signs are pretty good at showing the way.

Great views. Trail repairs very nice.

Highly trafficked but beautiful on the fall! I was there during golden hour and absolutely loved the colors.

I really enjoyed this smooth well marked hiking trail to the Alum Cave and Bluffs. Beautiful and serene walk alongside a peaceful stream brings you to an interesting natural rock cave structure. A one railed log bridge over the creek leads to an immaculate rock stairwell which brings you through the cave arch and then almost all uphill from here leads to some beautiful breathtaking views of the mountainside prior to reaching the stunning scenic views of the bluffs.

Insanely crowded (especially at the falls) so good luck trying to enjoy it. I always forget how touristy GSMNP is. Will stick to primitive hikes from here on out and avoid this area.

Use the AllTrails app to verify you are on the Goldmine Loop. We didn’t and we inadvertently cut the loop short by taking a turn onto what we later learned was a bypass of Goldmine Loop after exiting the tunnel. This resulted in a very unremarkable and disappointing hike. We didn’t see any water features or views described by the other reviewers. I’m giving it 4 stars because I want to do it again right!

We loved this trail...a beautiful walk through the forest. The colors were magnificent, very cool seeing bear tracks by the lake, the homestead site was fun to see. We had the trail all to ourselves most of the time...loved that, too!

The hike up was beautiful. You follow the river up and cross multiple bridges. The first half had only a slight incline and the second half has more stairs. you get great views of the mountains. I recommend it to anyone! Not really sure where the peak was though. There wasn't a sign or anything.

Beautiful day, beautiful colors. Get there early. This hike is on most tourists short list of things to see, so the parking lots fill up quickly. This is a paved trail, but not meant for strollers.

it was crowded when we went, some pavement but not good for strollers at all, elevated climb, small observation area at end.

We were almost scared off this trail by reviews that described this trail as being moderate to strenuous. (We are in our late 60s and my wife has had double knee replacement.) Sure, there were sections that were steep but the trail itself is broad and flat with very easy footing. We can deal with steep but my wife has a hard time when the footing is rugged from rocks and roots sticking up high. Heck, the Cove Hardwood Nature Trail down the road was more rugged that the trail to Alum Cave. That made this trail quite easy for us to hike and maybe the most beautiful trail we hiked all week!

Short trail to an amazing waterfall. Started around 7:40a 10/21. First ones to the falls, enjoyed the peacefulness, then ran into a million people on our way out. It’s paved, but not ADA approved. I definitely recommend going as early as possible to really enjoy the falls/the trail without a crowd.

Easy hike, slight incline going to the falls. Very crowded though. Beautiful falls.

Short hike very easy but need to watch out for roots. No one but me and my husband on trail.

Easy in and out - one good overlook before the falls - the falls is the payoff. Go early or parking will be a bear. Met a volunteer- Mike who shared so recent photos and knowledge about the local bears that was very interesting.

Because the trail is not difficult it made for a lot of people on the trail.

Love this trail! The fir trees are gorgeous!

nice hike. busy

i called this the grandpa and baby trail. around every bend was either an old couple "hiking" in slacks and polos or a family pushing a stroller. its hard to take pics of the waterfall because people feel the need to walk up to the waterfall and touch it, regardless of who is taking pics. felt more like a guided nature walk than a hike

Nicely paved pathway! Have encountered snakes about the trail before. Beautiful location worth the stop completely! Get out of Gburg and see the park!

This was such a beautiful trail! The first mile or so was fairly moderate, with only a slight incline. After Arch Rock, however, the trail definitely becomes steeper and more strenuous. I would recommend starting the hike early. We started at 9am, and we encountered a few groups on our way up to the bluffs, but it was very busy on our way down the trail! There was a lot of cloud cover at the top of the bluffs, but thankfully some of it cleared off by the time we headed back down the mountain, so we were able to experience both the “smokiness” and great views the Smoky Mountains have to offer!

Nice paved path to falls. Very crowded though. Good starter hike for the day.

Fun short hike, Lots of people

this trail should not be rated easy but nice trail nice cs on slickrock trail

Nice early morning hike to Andrews Bald. We beat the crowds but missed the views because of fog. Had breakfast at the bald though. Great hike. Will definitely do again.

awesome hiking with wonderful views

Ok trail. Not much of views. Only one interesting spot by the water. We saw bunch of bears tracks there near the water and views of delta were pretty.
