Loved this trail! Lots of people. Beautiful views. It was easy enough for my 5 year old and she loved it.

Great trail, but I would agree some others who said it should be marked rated as a moderate trail. There were some rather long a steady inclines that left me out of breath, but I'm a out of shape too. However the views at the top were magnificent, especially on a clear day like it was for us.

Absolutely beautiful. Wonderful photo opportunities throughout the entire walk. Paths are well maintained and wide.

Super cool trail, different than any other trail I’ve done before. Pretty easy and fun.

A nice trail with great payback at the top. Not well marked. Look for the small parking lot just below campground marked as Exercise Trail.

Good views, steady climb I would rate it moderate
Even after rain trail was not muddy

We did this hike for my birthday ! Great views with alternating challenges and easy strolls. It’s one of my favorites. Get there early to watch the sunrise, but light enough to be safe

Nice, easy and peaceful walk. Morro Beach has great waves (surfing), small sand dunes and lots of compact sand (running).
Access to walkway around Morro Rock (through the parking lot), where you can see a lot of Sea Otters, Birds and Sea Lions. Bring binoculars.
Back of “the Rock” has a rock border wall with waves (sometimes) crashing over the top. Climb onto back rocky terrain (at your own risk) to access more secluded area with larger rocks that are closer to water.

Often difficult to walk due to loose rocks and stumps. I needed to stop often to catch breath. Great view at the top. It was a great walk. I will come back again for sure.

Views from the top are incredible. If rain recently, trails can be very muddy, and difficult to pass. A lot of poison oak, long pants recommended.

A good challenge to push up hill, with a rewarding view, nice loop option, and variety of plants along the way. As a run, a definite A, although some pruning of the surrounding chaparral was due when I went out as it was nearly impossible to pass without getting scratched by some of the woody shrubs. The eastern loop is fairly steep, which has some pros and cons, passing over some private property that has an easement which is also nice to see.

This is labeled as easy but I would categorize as moderate. A good steady climb and somewhat steep at a few spots. I take my elderly parents on easy trails and I would definately not bring them on this one! Good trail through trees, good views! crosses one road with cars going pretty fast around a curve, beware! Happy hiking!

Go on a clear day. Literally a 360 view.

Great payoff at the top! We hiked a day or two after rain, so some of the lower stretches were muddy & somewhat slick. Pick a clear day, the views are incredible.

Fun hike if you want to spend time exploring the structures and great for amateur photographers.

Perfect time of the year to do this hike I think. The weather was perfect. It wasn't too strenuous. The views were amazing. All in all, a great hike! Definitely worth it. Folks should consider this one in fall or winter. I feel summer would be too miserable considering the fact that the sun literally, beat down on us the entire time. I wouldn't want that during summer. It was great to see the amount of bikers and joggers on this one.

Great trail any time of year, once you get to the top there are great 360 views. If you feel like going a bit further once you are towards the top, there is a trail that takes you to the next peak, Oats Peak.

Don’t be afraid to go towards the houses. You’ll take a pretty steep hike up to the swings that overlook SLO. Beautiful views. Fun hike.

Beautiful and not hard. Mostly full sun exposure, we were happy temperatures were 80. Sunscreen a must. Highly recommend!

Beautiful views!

This is an urban hike, with surf contests, water treatment plants, parking lots, etc but also with beach, shorebirds, Morro Rock. It’s nice if that’s what you’re looking for.

Easy walking but so many spectacular views. Access to tide pools too.

Absolutely love this trail. I’ve done it 4 times, and it never disappoints. Always gorgeous

The hike has a total of 14 river crossing to just get to the trail head. We took a non 4 wheel drive vehicle and made it. You do have to take the river crossing super slow otherwise the water will splash on the battery and you’ll have to wait to let it dry before your car will start (Found out the hard way). We only hiked to the big falls and then turned around. GPS was a little off and it is closer to 3.6 miles for the entire hike. This time of year the hike had no water from the falls but the river had a little bit of water. Overall great hike if you’re willing to drive through the crossings.

Pretty cool hike. Can be cold at the top but the view is very nice
