Very well and maintained. Parts of a trail were closed due to corrosion, but not the main trail for the falls. There are signs to point you in the right direction. It was $10 to enter, cash only. No snow, but a little muddy.
There are no signs for this place, but maps will take you to a parking lot and the trail is straight across from it. A super muddy hike, but not crowded and it was nice to let the dogs off leash for a minute while we were alone. Beautiful falls. The dogs loved romping in the mud and playing with all the fallen sticks.
We parked where the snow started and hiked 4.5 miles round trip. We followed a sign for the falls to get off the road and it was an adventure in the snow.
Great hike. Get to be on part of the Pacific Coast Trail. Super crowded right on the falls and the immediate loop path but clears out for the second half. Just don't take the first bridge back across and you'll be able to get some space.
Our trail followed other people’s tracks during winter. Bluebird day on Mt Shasta. Little wind and very few people. Stunning view of Siskiyou Mts and Trinity Alps,
easy to follow! Heavy flow! Gorgeous falls
Such an easy and cool cave to get to!! Go to the left and the right when getting to the bottom. The cave is on both sides. Going to the right will get you to the part where you will need a headlamp- we chickened out.
Went to the East of avalanche gulch to checkout the less beaten path. Gorgeous. Snowshoed on crusty light snow layer. Spent the night at 8,500 feet and there was some wind gusting from the south east.
Super cool caves. We only had 1 headlamp between 2 people so didn’t make it too far past when it gets pitch black, but still really fun. Very eerie...
Beautiful views , waterfalls in the morning were magical!!!
I’ve taken this trail several times and every time is a new and beautiful discovery. I’ve been in every season now as well. Absolutely stunning. My four year old was able to walk six miles total because of the clean pathway.
Not worth the trek
Awesome trail, great views and a killer workout! Make sure you take plenty of water and sunscreen. Feel free to follow me on my Instagram account for more dope hiking adventures! @sertanusanmaz
The falls are very pretty, although not very full at the moment. Some of the rocks are slick and icy near the stream and falls, so be careful! The hike up to the falls is rather steep. The trail itself is a dirt road, and not marked, but you’ll see a large open dirt lot for parking, then just walk up the road that goes upwards. The falls aren’t very far of a walk from the parking lot.
We loved this hike!
Cave is roughly a mile long. Bring hard hat is planning to go all the way though. Requires scrambling
I have to say that with whimsical names like Ney Springs and Faery Falls you fully expect it to be both charming and magical and it does not disappoint for my full trip report to include pictures video information and story please go to https://nocalhikingpursuingbalancethruadventure.wordpress.com/2020/09/17/ney-springs-and-faery-falls/?preview=true
