What an excellent hike and overall experience! The hard work is certainly paid off with the views at the top.

We started the day at 3:45am from Upper Pines campground. We reached the cables around 9am and the summit at 9:30. Starting early is the best advice we received as there were only a handful of people on the cables and a dozen or so at the top. Traffic on the sub-dome had picked up considerably by the time we were descending. We returned to camp at 3:15 with plenty of time for a soak in the mighty Merced River alongside camp to assist in recovery!

Start early, bring ample water and food and enjoy the hike! 55,000 steps on the pedometer for the day...

Gorgeous trails with views of the river. This is a great hike for a hot day because there are so many places to take a quick dip and cool off.

Stellar scenery on the way up and fantastic views at the lookout. Can't wait to do this again.

it's a beautiful hike into God's country.

just love this place . it's a beautiful hike into God's country.

Hiking to the top of Clouds Rest if you’re afraid of heights can be prohibitive, but if you’re willing to push past your fear, the views are phenomenal!

First time to Yosemite and First hiking trail...I loved it great work out..

Awesome 360 degrees views. Will be back!

Was great!

very difficult hike, rocks very brutal on feet, ankles, and knees! recommend hiking poles, ankles hiking boots. views are great! bring at least 2 liters of water, and snacks!

I started the trail at Tenaya Lake (AKA Sunrise Lakes trailhead) and thought to myself "wow this trail has it all!" Beautiful meadows, small stream crossings, lakes, wildflowers galore, steep switchbacks that seem like they go on for days, sparking granite (because you came to Yosemite to see granite, DUH!), thrills, and most important, views for days!! This hike seems really daunting, but it's actually not that bad. Yes, it has some steep climbing sections, but a lot of downs and flat areas to rest up in between. The first two miles are probably the hardest part of the entire trail, so if you can do that section then you can surely finish! It does get a little rough towards the approach on the spine, but take as many breaks as you need as this isn't a race. I thought the spine was a little over-hyped, but I've been told I have an unhealthy obsession with heights...Be sure to keep an eye on Tenaya Lake as you ascend to keep track of how far you've come! Be sure to make plenty of time to rest up at the top, because you'll need some extra energy for the long trek down, remember those downs I mentioned earlier? Anyways, bring plenty of food and water, this is a longer hike. I did this hike yesterday, (6/14/18) and the Tenaya Lake crossing was completely manageable in my regular hiking boots. However, this is not always the case...

Nice, short hike. The views are awesome.

Definitely a hike that anyone visiting Kings Canyon/Sequoia NP should take. The trail is rather easy in the beginning as it winds through the forest with the South Fork King’s River to your right for the majority of the trip. But for all the beauty you experience you WILL be eaten alive by bugs. Even with frequent spraying of bug spray they managed to get every inch of me. About 2 miles in if you take the right fork you can get some beautiful views off a suspension bridge over the river. Shortly after this portion you will begin your climb. Of course with the gain in elevation you will see many smaller falls off to your right that you will been keen to snap some photos of. The falls are clearly marked on the trail by a sign and you can either continue the trail to the upper portion of the falls or relax at the bottom. The cool mist is so refreshing and offers a wonderful atmosphere to have lunch.

Finally did the hike today. Such amazing views and what a workout! All the sweat is paid off when you make it to the tower.

This trail was really nice. Easy to follow and most driving on paved road to get there. The water was not flowing like crazy (it's July, so . . .), but there were plenty of pools to splash in and get our feet/legs wet. The only reason I dropped it to 4 stars was that there were a lot of places with broken glass lying around, and I had concerns about our dog. She was fine, but it was not a pleasant part of the trip.

Even though the weather forecasted high of 73, definitely felt like 85 with the strong sun. Don’t let the weather’s temperature fool you. Roundtrip 7 miles from Big Meadow trailhead. Lots of horse poo on the trail so beware. Either go with long sleeves/pants or wear repellent because you will get bit. Steep climbing up but manageable. There were quite a bit of people on the trail but nothing too crazy. Definitely recommend either taking a lightweight chair or hammock to rest while @ the lake. Be sure to take water shoes/sandals if you’re planning on getting in. Water was cool not cold, great to jump into.

Holy incline! But holy views! Love it! Went in May and not very crowded so I enjoyed myself.

This hike was surprisingly beautiful and away from the crowds. We went to watch the sunset & star gaze. There were a handful of people there, but we were alone not long after the sun started going down. Not a very difficult hike for someone in average shape. Very short & not too much of an uphill climb. Definitely suggest passing the general parking area for the trail and continuing down the road just a bit until you get to a service road on the left hand side. There is a small parking area directly across the street. You can hike this service road right up to the trail which will cut a good portion of the distance off of your hike:-) The 360 degree view of Yosemite is well worth it! Just stunning!

I saw a sign with madlock on it but no flower lake sign. It was a moderate but beautiful hike for me

Bring plenty of water. Leave very early in the day. Pack light. Know that the cables are very challenging should you get that far!

The wildflowers along the trail were spectacular and swimming in second lake was very, very wonderful.

we just finish the trail in vernal waterfall, it's so beautiful there and I will give 5 stars for the trail!

Possibly my favorite hike in the world!

Great little hike! Pretty leisurely most of the way, the last little stretch is more difficult because it gets really steep but that only lasts a couple minutes while you get to the summit.

Fantastic hike with ever changing vistas. Left at about 830 AM on July 11th from Glacier Point Panoramic trailhead in summer and finished by 230 to the valley via Nevada and Vernal falls and the Mist trail. Stopped numerous times for photos and lunch at Nevada falls.

LOVED the first 6 miles during which our lizard count to other people count was 65 to 7. After Nevada falls this ratio flipped as people way outnumbered lizards and trails became very crowded. The downhill out of Nevada and the Vernal steps is a knee killer w painstaking foot placement required.

Besides the last 2 miles of knee pain and crowded trail down to the valley (which is expected in summer) this was absolutely amazing hike great vistas of Half Dome and El Capitan and numerous waterfalls..

Mt Dana has been on our list of hikes to tackle for a few years and I kept putting it off to “prepare”. We went ahead and did it last week and *ahem* lets just say I was not quite prepared. Lol It’s no joke, for the average hiker. I made it to the top in a little over 3 hours so not too bad, but I was sore for dayyyysss. The views were AMAZING.

The trail in the beginning is pleasant then turns to steep steps/rocks and parts where you may scramble over boulders and such. In my opinion, coming down was harder, I’m 43 and my knees were not happy.

I was grateful for my trekking poles!

I had a crew of 6 teens with me who did great. Overall we had an amazing time.

Great hike, Sequoias are amazing!
