Great day hike with the ladies. Very empty on a December Sunday

Sept 2018- We left at 11:15 AM. Took us a little over 4 hours. Very pretty overlook.

This map is misleading as it starts you on the Exeter Trail which is 2.5 miles of flat trail next to the Schuylkill River before you get to the actual Neversink Loop. If you want to skip the extra 5 miles, look for the Klapperthal parking lot in your GPS. That said, the flat portion was lovely and a very easy walk. The day I did this I only hiked up to Witches’ Hat, and I missed a sign about a closed trail due to hunting (there was a large branch covering it). There are a bunch of side trails here so I suggest checking out the Neversink Mountain Preserve website online to see all of them. There is personal property mixed in as well, so just be aware of that.

Took Ridley Creek white trail from loop #17 to yellow trail. A connector trail off of yellow trail to various trails in Tyler. Nice and quiet....not one other hiker for 2 hours...maybe because it was 22 degrees.

Nice quiet trail, but I had difficulty reconciling the maps and trail markers.

Great morning to get out!

Just did this with my daughter today. Had a ton of fun on this course! Very rocky between Pulpit and Pinnacle so a little slow going at times, but the views are worth it. Definitely need waterproof hiking boots too, as the return leg was quite muddy in spots. The spring on the last leg was flowing really well, so we stopped there to fill up.

DONT LEAVE ANYTHING VALUABLE IN YOUR CAR!! We parked in the rt 273 parking lot and completed the whole loop around 5.8 miles. As we were finishing up the credit card company was calling about a $1,500 and $2,000 dollar purchase that was trying to be made... sure enough when we got back to the car $250 cash and credit/debit cards were stolen. The police and park rangers came and said car burglaries have been happening more frequently around there. My car was locked and they either pried the driver door open or the ranger said they have been getting in with somehow tripping the electric. the trail itself was a little muddy but a nice mixture of fields, woods and water.

A great little day hike. Take a lunch and sit at the pinnacle to enjoy views of hawks hunting over the valley

Skyline section is so much fun! I highly suggest doing this counterclockwise.

Great trail and really surprising that this is in the city. It's good for a leisurely walk, running, or biking. You can take smaller trails that are off of the main path if you want a more challenging hike.

Visited 10/28/18. Paid $10 per person and it’s well worth it! Attended a 30 minute educational lecture of the different raptors that migrate through the area. The trails are pretty. Be prepared for a lot of boulders and rocky terrain. Their easy to maneuver but I suggest good hiking shoes.

This was a great trail! Trail markers were crystal clear. My only disappointment was I didn't see any waterfalls (pictured in the trail description). But I'll definitely be back.

Started nice for the first hour but the last two were boring as hell and made it feel like it lasted days.

Great hike! Check out the map before you get started to see what color trail markers you should be looking for. Also, keep an eye out for snakes. We saw 5 over the 9-mile hike, including two rattlesnakes.
The views from the Pinnacle and Pulpit Rock are awesome and are more than worth the effort to get there. Hiking shoes (or shoes with hard soles) are helpful because there are many portions of the trail where you're walking on rocks.

I’ve been hiking this area for 20 years. It never gets old!

Went on a Saturday afternoon paid $10.00 well worth it!

Parked at parking lot #1. Took me and my dog 2 hours to complete the loop. Trail is easy to follow if you pay attention to marked signs. If not I can see how you could get lost easily. Mostly wooded paths I thought there would be a lot more open fields and spaces. There was not many people on this trail. Don’t forget your boots. Lots of poop and mud. Lots of up hill and down hill on trail. Scenic and pretty overall.

Deciding where to park was tough but a fellow hiker helped us out. Trail was fun.

Terrific trail with 2 magnificent panoramic views. A bit crowded on a Saturday late morning but then it was a perfect fall day! I would definitely do it again!

What a great hike! Be prepared for lots and lots of rocks and boulders! Challenging but even my 12 yr old finished strong!
Proper shoes and water and snacks is a must. The loop took us about 4hrs. Exhausted but what a great day!

We took a combination of the yellow trail and the white trail for extra mileage, a good mix of ups and downs, and additional opportunities for stream crossings/water walking. Most of the trail was through the woods and was well marked and lightly traveled. We encountered a fair amount of mud, but since the expedition we’re training for will include a lot of mud and water, this was perfect for us! Will definitely do this hike again.

A delightfully informative trail. Perfect for everyone. Some steep steps at first. Beautiful view of Adams falls.

On horseback. The trail is well marked. Rocky in some areas. Recommend shoes or hoof boots. Scenic. Meandering forest trails, stream crossings, open fields. Can hop off at the red covered bridge and picnic at the tables in the pavilion. There’s a place to tie horses up to. I parked at the North Appleton lot (Lot #3) and started out on the Green Trail which hooks up with Orange Loop at the covered bridge. Combo of Green and Orange trails this way made for a nice 2 hour trail ride.

Another trail that needs better marking. All trails map was also unclear after reaching the Pinnacle. Pretty outlook. Very rocky so good hiking shoes help.

Went there on Columbus Day 2018... lots of cars there but saw NOBODY on the trail... very nice bonus! This place is beautiful with nice bathrooms and picking tables at visitors center... also maps are available at visitors center.... be sure to read all the rules and regulations as I did see the police patrolling the area which was nice!
