Not a difficult hike and had some awesome sunrise views!

Easy and quick hike! Up in about 20 minutes if you’re in decent shape and kids love this. The gazebo up top is a nice touch and worth the little bit of lung breaking!

Great short hike! A steady climb, not too strenuous. Great view at the top. The gazebo is a little cheesy but offers a nice spot to sit. Hiked up with chocolate lab, Maddie, and fiance. Took us 40 minutes to the top (took our time) and 20 minutes to get down. Trail is well blazed.

Beautiful views but a crowded trail and parking. I imagine in the summer it is worse. Only 1.5 miles RT , moderately steep in spots with loose rocks. If you are not in shape or have bad knees or are overweight, try something else. I saw several people with canes or were overweight who probably should not have been on this trail. The though was great. A lot of dogs so keep yours leashed. Active bear sightings were posted

Simply stunning views from the top. Fairly easy hike up. Took us about 20-22 minutes to get to the top. The terrain was a mix of rocks & dirt trail. Highly recommend this if you’re in the area & don’t have time (or the inclination ) for a longer hike.

very nice trail. done in 3 1/2 hours. this trail is amazingly pleasant but could use more markers. super view up top! it snowed at the top!

Great hike but thank God that we downloaded the AllTrails (Pro) maps because they were needed. Heavy coverage of leaves shielded what otherwise (I’m sure) was a well worn trail, and the map kept us from getting well off the trail - we felt that the trail was not well marked. You’ll love the views - DO IT!!

Great view from the top of the fire tower.

Great kid friendly hike. It was foggy at the top but we had the pleasure of meeting one of the volunteers who gave us a great history lesson. They’ve done a great job restoring the tower. Next year is it’s 100th anniversary.

Short but beautiful hike! Has a Guinness on top of the waterfall, seemed fitting. View from the gazebo of lake George is beautiful 

Nice easy trail to the top, well marked about an hour round trip. Great views from the tower

Nice view of Giant and other high peaks. Rated moderate but compared to Ampersand and Cascade I thought it was on the easy side of moderate. Well worth the trip

Super easy hike. Well marked trails and doesn’t take much time to get to the summit. Views are only seen from the fire tower, though. The only tough thing is the seasonal roads to get there. Truck or an SUV works best!

Satsuma an easy accesses point marked well right off the road. Mostly incline with little to few flat areas. Waterfall was pretty dry, there is a nice outlook on the first loop.

5 stars because of the magnificence of the view for a relatively short trek. I would say moderate to easy depending on your fitness, you are rewarded with an amazing view from the narrows to the south basin. Enjoy!

Nice trail, marked well. Only real challenge is the dirt road that takes you there. SUV is more appropriate than a car!

Craig’s review excellent—nice hike-could see the wind turbines in the distance on Tug Hill plateau-mostly vast wilderness!

Moderate trail with an amazing view! Another mile or so up the blue trail and you get to a gorgeous waterfall. Great for a short hike

steep in places, but achievable. Beautiful view of Lake George.

Great hike with some nice views at the top! Very steep for the most part—having trekking poles really helped. It might also be helpful to note that the steep inclines are mostly dirt, not rocks, so be prepared to work your ankles! We went on an early September weekday, and there was no one else on the trail. You get a decent sliver of a view of Lake George, but you can see all the way south towards Black and Buck Mountains on a clear day. At the other lookout, you can see the northern tip of Lake George and some of Lake Champlain, with Vermont mountains in the background. Neither view is panoramic but it’s a great moderate day hike!

This is a quick hike for all skill levels. The view of the lake and surrounding area is very good for the short climb. It took me 20 minutes to the top and 15 minutes down.

My fiancé and I hiked it with an eight year old and our pup. There were some steeper places. But overall completely doable and enjoyable for everyone. The views from the gazebo at the top make it well worth it!

Nice hike. Trail is in very good condition

Short but slightly strenuous hike in the Lake George Wilderness Area. The hike is mostly up a steady incline for the 600 feet from the start but is doable even for children. Nice clearing with gazebo at the top with views of Lake George. Trail goes on a bit further from the gazebo to what signs indicate is a waterfall, we didn't do that portion. Day we were there a few other individuals and families as partaking in the hike but not overly crowded.
