Short, easy, and fun hike. The best view is climbing on top! It was amazing!

Interesting rock structures. It is a really short easy hike. The rock structures at the end are well worth the short amount of time it takes to hike to them.

Well maintained and clean trail with great views at the top. Wide variety of plants and fungi along the way. A pleasant dog that lives nearby decided to join us on the hike but they are not typically permitted as it is a state nature preserve.

Great trail. Well marked and shade almost the whole way. Beautiful outlooks. You can see for miles at the top. My son and I really enjoyed ourselves this morning.

Beautiful arch and also if you go up some more there is a small cliff, a little dangerous for kids as there is no rails on that cliff. It is less than a mile walk and not bad at all.

A fantastic, family friendly short trail for first timers with a decent pay off at the end. The views around the arch are awesome, be careful on top of the arch, it is a bit slanted to the side

I have done this trail at least a dozen times with elderly, obese, young children and first timers. It is the best in fall when the wind is up, as it really does whistle. It is worth going a bit past the small arch and climbing up the rock ledges to see the view from up there. Be very careful doing this.

A great trail for first timers, older folks, children and people tend who like interesting rock structures.

Beautiful! I forgot my hiking books and was abke to do this trail in sandals. W didn't see a waterfall. I'm not sure if we missed it or if that is a mistake in the description. Either way, it was an amazing hike with breathtaking views! We relaxed and did yoga at the top for quite some time, enjoying the mountainous scenery and sunshine!
I would like to remind folks that this is a nature preserve. You aren't allowed to bring your dogs so please don't! I love hiking with my doggie and there are loads of trails where dogs are allowed.

We did this trail with our children aged 3, 6 and 9. They did great and loved it. The waterfall is gorgeous and the splash pool and creek were very to nice to wade in. Gorgeous foliage.

It’s a 1.5 mile loop. Very family friendly. It’s pretty easy; I’m out of shape, but I survived well and would do it again. We did find that if you enter the trail and come back out from the entrances by the bathrooms, it is easier. The other entrance to the trail has a lot of steps. We started there, and looked around and did fine. But probably would have avoided the steps because of my youngest son, had we known. We had a 3 and a 4.5 year old with us, and they did amazing. Perfect kid friendly hike! All in all, great trail and beautiful scenery!

Great, short hike! Very cool to be able to stand on top of the arch and then see it from below. Loop trail with stairs. Fine for little ones if you hold their hand.

Great warm up trail with some beautiful picture locations!

Nice trail. Mostly shaded, lots of elevation changes, plus nice views.

One of the more interesting hikes I’ve done in Res River Gorge. I wouldn’t think that most people would rate it as easy, especially the first part including the Indian stairs but certainly doable. Also parts are not marked so well so the app is very handy.

I enjoy this trail very much. i have hiked there and camped there. great overlooks

Hiked this past Saturday morning. Great hike. Was able to see more this time. Hiked in January 2016 and the trail was fog covered the entire time.

If you go past the windows to the stacked rocks, (More impressive than the picture) don’t go further unless you have a backcountry camping permit. But, it’s worth going to this point.

Excellent hike. Saw lots of lizards and a copperhead. Trail is in good shape.

This is a very easy trail, but it's basically walking around the perimeter of an overgrown field. It's my least favorite trail in the area.

Difficult for me because we did the 9.4 mile trip that included Rough Trail. The incredible views over the bluffs and Gray’s Arch made it worth it! Stay focused coming out because trails sometimes appear to go left which take you to the edge of a bluff.

Good for family bike ride with daughter.

Trail was easy to follow and very scenic. GO EARLY to beat the crowd. The rock bridge and creation falls are beautiful!

The ascension certainly earns the rightful title of pilot knob. Along with what most are saying, it’s a tough incline but glorious, sweeping views await you at the top. Stay in the middle of the path, as poison ivy forms a phalanx on both sides.

fun trail. watch the kids on the top because their aren't ant hand rails. good condition too.

short and easy, good for kids too.

great views. Trail marking is sketchy in places.

A nice trail. The arch was cool and a decent view at the beginning/end depending on which way you go.

Best kept secret in Powell county/RRG. Not a dog trail. not a kid trail, teenager approved for sure. Clear trail, stay in the middle as poison ivy to the left and to the right. Steep climb was invigorating, mt.bikes cannot handle the elevation climb. My son has hit most of RRG and "invigorating" was his observation. Please take care of the trail, we did not see any trash, u can tell anyone that finds this trail can share some cool stories

If you are looking for the easy part of Gray's Arch trail, I would suggest just making an in and out trip from the campsite. It's a beautiful hike but I would call it more moderate than easy.
