Park in small lot for Grizzly Falls. This is an easy hike which you can make as difficult as you want by going uphill from Falls, not sure what is up there. There was no wind so it was going to get hot there in afternoon. This is a great hike to start out your day to see some falls, or after a long hike to stretch out before the ride out of the canyon.

Read reviews here before driving to the park for this hike. They were right on. I sprayed myself with repellant as soon as I parked and had no problems all day. Could see others being driven off the trail by the bugs. Park in one of two lots at end of Road. This is an easy hike which you can make as difficult as you want by going uphill to the Falls and past. Talked with some other hikers and a seasonal ranger on the hike and it was great. There was no wind so it was going to get hot there in afternoon away from the water. Once to the Falls we were about to have lunch when a small bear visited the falls area and gave everyone a thrill. Trail up from falls is not easy and we decided to turn around and save the meadows to another day.

Very easy walk. The way is paved so anybody can do it. Worth doing it, you’ll see general Sherman at the end.

This was so much better than the last time I was here. As we were coming out of the park after hiking in the valley, we decided to stop and hike around General Grant. We just started walking around the giant trees and to our surprise there wasn’t many people around which was awesome. The crews at this park are actually getting it ready for winter already in the middle of September. As these gentle giants rising up into the sky they were just awesome.

Hiked here couple days ago with my parents. We started the hike a little later than anticipated. Got some amazing pictures of the falls once we got to the destination. On the way back we were very fortunate and were able to see a couple owls and a black bear :). Great hike, and definitely recommend it to anybody.

Super nice trek - the first half is basically a stroll through the forest, the incline starts after the bridge at Bubbs Creek and goes up steadily about 8/900 feet of the next couple of miles. I came across a bear with her cub about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile before the falls, they stayed in the area around the trail for awhile, because they were still there when I came back a couple of hours later. Gnats and mosquitoes was a pest from about a mile in and almost all the way to the falls, bring a face/hat net, you will be happy you did. It was a rater hot day, even though most of this hike is in the shade of trees, I used about 4 liters of water - good thing the hike is right next to the river. An easy day hike and the beginning of the clock wise Rae Lakes Loop, most day hikers turn around at the falls.

Easy and quiet, just enjoy the Sequoias. Not many people do the entire loop.

This has to be one of my favorite hikes. We took the lollipop route on the Lakes trail and made the trip up to the Watchtower before heading onto Heather Lake. We then took the Hump trail back to the parking lot. It was a total of 9.2 miles and 2,326 total elevation. The views from the Watchtower are stunning and the drop off from the edge down to Tokopah Valley is scary yet exhilarating. Heather Lake is a small alpine lake and a nice place to have lunch. I’m really glad we took the Hump trail down and didn’t attempt climbing up. It was pretty steep downhill with lots of loose gravel. Best part of the hike were the views from the Watchtower. Pictures don’t do justice to the immense grandeur.

Great trail that is well taken care of. Beautiful scenery. Cant wait to go back when the water is flowing in the spring. Worth the trip up!!

Nice trail. Not super difficult. Be sure to bring a bug net and spray. The gnats are relentless.

Saw a bear and her cubs, so be aware.

Great trail, decent amount of shades, beautiful mist fall was very refreshing. A lot of bugs especially in the morning from the moment you get out of a car. I encountered a mama bear followed by a bear cub.

Magical walk on paved trail through a magnificent grove of Sequoia trees. Not nearly as crowded or noisy as the General Sherman tree walkway, and I thought the General Grant was more majestic! Do not pass this by if you enter through the north entrance of the park- it’s right there!

Nice place for a picnic. Not really a hike though.

Not really a hike, nice paved walk to see General Sherman. I thought the General Grant tree in Kings Canyon was a much more majestic tree and the short hike was much less crowded. Glad I saw both.

Way back and nearly forgotten.... Awesome sight when I was young.

easy walk to see some BIG trees. arrived around 730-8am and there were only a few other people but more were coming in on the way out. get here early!!

short and sweet! arrived just in time to catch the sun rise which was cool but the light blocked the view of the dividing range to the left. would be a great spot for sunset. please put your rubbish in the bins!

We are staying at the Azalea Campground and started out with this easy trail. It’s my first time at this park and it’s absolutely majestic and wonderful. This trail is an easy introduction to the park. It’s 2 miles from the campground and it was not crowded at all. There were no buses parked when we went so maybe we just got lucky. I’m giving this a 5 Star because it’s easy, well paved, worth the hike, and leisurely.

Some tough places but the views are worth it and the lake is amazing. The path along the way passes many meadows and streams. Water was perfect temp in September for swimming.

A very nice trail - not too hard either. I encountered two bear cubs, but no mother was seen. Scary, but fun! Ensure you bring bug spray, you will absolutely need it.

Besides the mosquitos and gnats it was great

During the summer, take it this trail via the watch tower!

Great hike. Water flows are low but nice nonetheless. This is not 3.7miles. More like 6miles.

Very Steep, but paved. There is also a shuttle option. We didn't follow all the side trails, but it was amazing to see all the trees!

More of a steep stroll than a hike, but definitely worth the time! Gorgeous views of giant trees! Easily doable with a stroller.

I made the climb for sunrise with my wife and was not disappointed with the view. It was a relatively easy climb on paved steps from the parking lot, but recognize that 7400ft altitude may provoke hesitation on some.

Not really a hike but a short walk, worth stopping by!

Get up early and go! easy trail! It gets crowded fast! Very beautiful but there is a line to take a picture with the General Sherman Tree!

Got there by 9:00 AM and beat the crowds on a Sunday morning which was ideal. Would have been 5 stars except the view was pretty smokey from recent fires,
