An amazing trail. As other reviewers have noted, it’s a little longer than advertised, and the first part (by Gen Sherman) is crowded and annoying. We almost turned back. Thank goodness we didn’t; when you get out into nature, this trail delivers big trees, scenic vistas, and alpine meadows. A great trail of you have the time.

WalkingGreat!

As one can probably gauge from reading the reviews, it’s busy. Yet I never felt like I was in a crowd. Still would recommend simply because seeing such awesome trees is such a unique experience. Going down to General Sherman is eazy peazy as it is all down hill. Enjoy it! knowing that you’re amongst some of the most spectacular and beautiful trees in the world. The trail is as accessible as can be for people with no handicaps; paved, wide, and only a couple spots with steps. There are even a couple benches for you to rest if need be on the way back up. There is also a specific Handicap parking lot that brings you right up to the tree as well if you are in need of it. Lots of fun facts and information about the area on signs throughout for those that don’t mind stopping and reading a little.

Hike is short but beautiful. I’m afraid of heights so I took my time, but definitely worth it. Please be careful if you have small children.

had to park at museum parking and hike to the bottom of the Rock. it was definitely challenging to climb it after the hike to the bottom, but the views make the effort worth it. sunrise is usually the time Google says + 30 minutes, since the sun has to come up over the mountains to be visible from the top, so plan accordingly. you don't need to climb fully to catch the sunrise, the view becomes visible around 70% of the way up.

Congested around the Sherman Tree attractions. More serene in the Congress Loop, allowing you to fully appreciate the nature.

Very easy trail, it’s all paved, and downhill. Going back to the car is all uphill though lol. There are a lot of people here compared to the other trails.

There was an unpaved trail and you can also walk the General’s Highway if you prefer a paved trail. Both were fairly simple trails, it didn’t get challenging until the end where it was slightly harder. If you take the paved trail you get to see the Auto Log, Tunnel log, and several named trees along the way. The Moro Rock itself has a beautiful view. Would definitely do again.

Parked at museum parking and walked the road to Moro Rock. Went early and had the rock completely to ourselves. Went on a little further to Tunnel Log also. Take your time on the way back and look at all of the names trees. Maybe even take a walking trail back. Beautiful place

The busiest area of the national park, but if you go somewhat early in the morning, you can have a pleasant experience. Still in awe of General Sherman! Make sure to get a vertical panorama picture to capture the whole tree.

HikingGreat!

Good overall hike. On the trail by 7:30, only 2 cars in parking lot. Some snow still on the ground, no special footwear needed. Completed the hike with running shoes on. Didn’t see first people until 6 miles in. Nothing strenuous, good pleasant hike. Some great views of the tress and meadows.
