Came here on a weekday when we could park at the trailhead. It's a short but steep hike up to the top. The views were still amazing despite some of the haziness from the nearby fires. Definitely plan to come back when the sky clears and to go to stargazing.

Beautiful short hike through the Sequoia’s. Nothing difficult about this hike at all but still able to get up close to these amazing trees!

The views are spectacular and second to none. The parking is limited. The crowds are dangerously overwhelming. Be extra careful when going up there.

The reason this hike only gets 4 stars is the lack supervision from park rangers. I saw a lot of people careless on trail that doesn't give second chances.

Not really a hike but the view is breathtaking

Easy. Paved. A little up and down but a nice stroll.

Short climb up to the top for views of the Sierra's and the Valley floor. Gets crowded at sunset. Pro Tip: Go right after the sun goes down - everyone leaves, you still get soft light and usually you have the top of yourself to view the city lights below and stars above. On a full moon, the mountain range behind you really light up!

Grateful to those who crafted this amazing feat with stairs, bars, etc. so that generations can climb and enjoy the beautiful views! A definite must if you're in the Sequioa Forest!

Small dirt hike not much to see and it was very short

Nice, short hike. The views are awesome.

Although barely a hike, it is a minor detour off the Giant Forest-Moro Rock Trail. It has a steep ascent but it’s short so not a big deal. The Hanging Rock is great for fun photo ops and amazing views of the foothills and Valley.

Beautiful and easy walk around a large meadow. We saw four deer in a mile and a half walk. Although there are masses of people brought in via shuttle buses, the trail was surprisingly empty. Any visit to Sequoia should include this trail. It can be easily completed by all ages and skill levels.

Nice and quick hike up with some beautiful views at the top.

Perfect for our young kids. We took our stroller and found no problems navigating it on the trail. Plenty of spots for our 2 year old to climb on rocks and explore.

The views are just stunning. And the trail is well supported with handrails and rock walls so it’s doable even for someone like myself who’s not great with heights. I’d suggest doing it in the early evening, to avoid the worst of the crowds. We were there about 6pm on a weekday during late June and there were still lots of people on the trail, but not too many.

The most peaceful and magical walk I’ve ever done. Super easy and just breathtaking. If you love giant trees and meadows, you’ll love this walk.

Beautiful and worth the effort!

Nice bit of engineering to create a path to the top. But views are meh!

Simply wonderful short walk. Lots of big trees including a fallen giant you can climb atop near the accessible parking lot.

Yesterday, I was standing about 50 ft from Mckinley tree when a 100 ft juvenile sequoia fell on the trail where I was taking a picture. Managed to sprint out of the way, but have wood dust in every nook and cranny! What a spectacle! Will beat any bear sighting I guarantee!

A little heavy breathing for someone who doesn’t get to hike as often as I’d like. So worth the effort to the top! Despite the height, felt safe with the railing and design of steps with grooves in places for better traction. A little narrow in spots, so need to let groups by when ascending or descending. Created good opportunities to catch your breath though.

Such a beautiful uphill hike! Not long at all. Highly recommend. The view at the top is worth all the heavy breathing!

Good lil trail, scenery wise not much to look at because of the recent drought a lot of trees have dried out. Easy hike on a dirt trail.

Honestly I wouldn't recommend this trail and would advise opting for another trail in the Sequoia National Park.

The trail itself is relatively easy until it's not. There is no real viewpoint to indicate the end of the trail, so my boyfriend and I went farther than we were supposed to as there is a faint trail and the map indicated we were going the right way. If you do this, the trail gets incredibly sketchy and there were times where we seemed to be at risk. The trail is also incredibly overgrown and we found both plants and ticks on us when we were done with the hike. There are many other hiking trails in Sequoia that I would argue are much more worthwhile than this trail.

What a view! Great hike

A really nice easy trail :)

Good campground, late May, mule deer in our campsite, restrooms clean, easy access to water and trash, very quite about 9:00 pm, good family campground, be careful of snakes - tall grass. Everyone very friendly campground. Hike to fall took about 2:30 up and 1:30 down.
