Short walk to the top. I like the views leading up the top more than at the top. It was a little cloudy the day we went, but still worth it.

Amazing views!

I love the view

Little Baldy sign on the left side of the road. Trail is on the right where you pull over to park!

10/10. Short enough trail, but gives you everything you want out of it. Enough incline to get some exercise. 2-3 switchbacks but the trail is pretty views the whole time. There is a flat bit and since I was the only person I saw on the trail (mid-Nov) it was very peaceful! Views at the top are insane.... worth every second. Careful with your photo ops, the gravel can shift and I almost took a tumble off the cliff at one point.... oops. It was a hazy/Smokey day but I’ll definitely be coming back!

Lots of people, but it didn’t ruin the views. I sorta ran the stairs a bit for exercise, but stopped very often. Personally I think the views climbing the stairs up were better than at the top, but that’s only Bc it was after fires, so a very hazy day. Doesn’t take long, worth it. Ok for kids too.

We did this trail back in July. It was very crowded, but worth the stair climb.

Lovely hike between a meadow and some huge sequoias. Informational signs along the trail to learn about the sequoias and habitat restoration efforts by the park. Accessible and well maintained.

One of my favorite trails anywhere! The trees here are spectacular. A must see at Sequoia. Very uncrowded around 9am in late November.

on Moro Rock Trail

Steep climb with steps up to the top of Moro rock. Was busy even though was November but was also a weekend. Great boards up with interesting information along the path. We headed up here for sunset and was beautiful, the views from the top are breathtaking. Plenty of parking and toilets at the trailhead.

trail head visibly marked ,sad to say valley air terrible due to wildfires. Family and I came up from nearby Hanford to take day hike, enjoyed it very much, trail easy to hike maintained as a trail could be as always trip hazards one in particular was a steel post for embankment reinforcements was protruding up out of ground at a trail corner cutback. EOL the falls well worth hike falls were running well had lunch took a little nap headed back, traffic light on trail encountered 1 family on trail and at falls another couple showed up. anyway a great way to enjoy nature

trail head was visibly marked sad to say valley air was terrible due to wildfires. Trail itself was easy to hike temps were excellent, 70ish traffic real light 1 other fasmily on trail end result were the falls they were running well had lunch and a little nap headed back nice day hike.

Cool short hike. The only problem is since it’s so short, it’s very popular so you can’t really hike your speed because of the crowd.

We had planned to do the entire loop but after Watch Tower the track got rocky, narrow and very steep sided. We had checked before hand but no comments said “if you are afraid of heights, give this a miss”. We walked half a km past the Tower but then turned back. It’s beautiful but if heights worry you, take another trail. We didn’t make it to the lake, just back tracked down. This trail was closed today but we were among 30 other hikers doing it. Amazing views. Definitely a must for the ones who like heights. And take water, so many people take these trails with a tiny bottle or nothing and wearing sneakers- ????

Really liked it - except for the asphalt path - some great Redwoods

Overall, an easy hike through the sequoias to the stair climb. Beautiful views of the valley all through out the trail and tons of wild life. The stair climb can be difficult but their are plenty of places to stop and break and enjoy the views before reaching the insane panoramic views at the top. Get their early before it gets busy to truly appreciate it :)

Amazing view.

Very fun trail. There is currently a sign at the hump trail and watchtower trail fork that says watchtower trail is icy. While it definitely is through winter and maybe into summer, it’s all melted. No worries there, so don’t miss out on the amazing views it has to offer. Very nice one or two nighter.

Beautiful nature scenes and some animals to be seen as well! Great to do with kids.

Awesome little hike! First mile gets you broke in pretty well, after crossing the creek and getting into the wooded area, it’s fairly easy going. Take your time, remember your up over 9k ft elevation and still climbing! Did not make it up to Upper Monarch as I got a late start and I was running out of daylight. Logged just over 10 miles and the entire hike took me about 4.5 hours. Awesome views of the Mineral King Valley.

We are visiting CA from CO and we landed on this trail. It was an easy trot and worth the views. There were about 20 others on the trail to go along with 3-4 black bears. DO NOT use the directions link for this trail. We spent about an hour on the wrong trail haha. Follow the directions from some of the previous comments. Enjoy!!

great trail second time this week

Very good short trail, it is moderately trafficked in the mornings, very well defined and kept up.Trail is a steady easy climb until you finish the last switch backs then levels outs as you cross the saddle between the two mountain tops. On this level part of the trail, you will be passing through a very young forset, The tree are very short. Here you are the giant of the forest as you are taller than the trees. The views you see walking up the trail are fantastic, but what you see from the top is awesome. The very last part of the trail to the top is the hardest and the steepest. It is short, but very steep. You must keep going even if you need to take extra breaks. No matter how long it takes, it is well worth it. Very nice way to spend a morning.

Beautiful meadow

Great trail during late October.

Loved this quick hike! Nice views especially at the top! I would rate it as moderate but not difficult at all.

Highly recommend trekking poles if you have a heavy pack. If you’re staying overnight there is a bear box and latrine (albeit without an enclosure) at the lower monarch lake. When we overnighted we were informed there were no open fires allowed above 9,000’ so plan accordingly. Beautiful views and a beautiful little lake, you’ll probably see other people there during the day at least.
