A moderate hike, not an easy one with very steep rocks and steps close to the top. The effort is worth it. The views are breathtaking and if you are bold you can go out on the arch for a bucket list photo of your achievement.

Loved the first 2.5 miles or so, beautiful scenery. Not quite as exciting after that until you get to Walnut Canyon but still a pleasant hike.

this is an easy, scenic walk in the forest/desert as its mostly flat and is very quiet since most people take the road or head straight to devils bridge. started at 830am and walked clockwise but would recommend going the other way as the devils bridge view point was quite busy around midday.

If I ever go back to Devil's Bridge I will definitely take this trail. It's pretty flat, has lots of trees for shade, and is extremely well marked. Also pretty empty- after waiting 40 minutes for a picture at the bridge and seeing the never-ending stream of people on the 4x4 road, I LOVED the solitude of this trail. Definitely worth the extra mile or so. There are also a few side trails (all well-marked) to bring you back to the 4x4 road if you decide this trail isn't for you or is taking too long.

I was worried I wasn't in the right place at first.. paved road for the first 5 miles.. then the trail begins. great views!

Good hike! Only saw one other person on the trail the whole time. On the way back I came back on the Carroll Canyon trail instead of the Old Post trail. Different views and you end up at the same trailhead.

Chuck Wagon has great views with an easy hike on the way to hitting Devil’s Bridge Trail, but the very last section to climb up to the bridge is tough. Less experienced hikers will struggle on a couple passes, but persevere to get the views and the photo op!

please take a water pack I seen tons of people with a water bottle you'll need more, Dont take your babies I seen a few parents with tiny babies in the heat!! and dogs trying to look for shade, there hardly isnt any shade until your near the top. This trail quickly becomes ADVANCED when your at the last 15 min to the bridge. Overall the best experience was meeting people throughout the world encouraging each others THIS IS US!!

Beautiful scenery.

Hot and dusty, but absolutely worthwhile. The Chuckwagon trail offers plenty of shade, and gives you some solitude away from the 4x4 traffic. The bridge is very cool.

If you’ve done a lot of hiking this is easy and short once you reach the trailhead. Loved the bridge at the end but hike unremarkable except for that.

Great alternative to the road if you have an extra hour to spare for the longer journey.

Chuck wagon is flatter but interesting landscape with no crowds and no jeeps with great finale of devils bridge! Great for active families!

100% better to take chuck wagon trail over the off road dirt road. We started back on the road thinking it would be faster, but it was so dusty and not scenic that we cir led back to take the stunning chuck wagon trail again on the way back.

Great little hike and the end view and pictures are worth it!

Beautiful. You need a 4x4 to get to the devil’s bridge trailhead. The road is super rocky and unpaved—I do not recommend you try it. Instead, drive to the trailhead devils bridge trailhead as far as you can go. I put it into my GPS. you will see when the road becomes unpaved. Stop there and immediately to your left you’ll see a parking lot. Park there. Do the Chuck Wagon trail (marked as 3-strenuous on the trail map). Note it is NOT strenuous. I would classify it as easy. And the hike was gorgeous with beautiful views. Once you get to devil’s bridge trail, the views aren’t great until you get to the end. devil’s bridge trail is moderate, and the rock scramble to the top is moderate to strenuous. It took us 2.5 hours round trip including stopping for pix at the top. I note that to get back to the car, we did the route 1–easy. It was dusty and had jeeps on it and no views. We saw a lot of people walking along it instead of taking chuck wagon. I totally recommend taking chuck wagon!!! That was the best part of the hike. I recommend this hike. Not my favorite but fun and not too long.

This is a great trail that starts with some beautiful views on the initial 2/3 - Chuck Wagon Trail. Once the trail crosses the atv trail, it becomes Devils Bridge Trail and it ascends very quickly to the Bridge, the Payoff at the bridge is spectacular.

Nice quiet trail

We hiked the Chuckwagon Trail from Dry Creek trailhead parking area. Arrived at 10:30 and got one of the last 2 parking spaces. Chuckwagon crosses the 4WD access road and continues up to Devils Bridge. Spectacular views from Devils Bridge. To cut some distance off the return hike we came back down the 4WD access road. Encountered 3 trucks on our return hike.

Go early to beat the crowd but worth the trip

Nice way to bypass most of the crowds and all of the jeeps along the 4X4 road. the end is a steep climb of rock steps. There is a line of people at the end taking selfies and pictures on bridge itself.

Cute hike. I would say it's worth it, and is probably leaning more towrads easy than moderate. We did it along with brins mesa/soldier pass/teacup and lizard head.

The biggest recommendation I have for this trail is a map or GPS. The trail itself is very hard to stay on. Some parts are obvious but others can be very tricky. I read a lot of hiking blogs that helped because they gave turn by turn directions. But I still could not finish the trail because I kept losing it. And I needed to turn back before night. The dirt road to the trailhead is also very easy to get lost on. There is no cell phone service so be aware of that. I was able to drive the trail with the sedan but it got really bumpy. Very peaceful hike. Really in the middle of nowhere.

Great trail for winter walks

Had a great time. Recommend to come early, so you'll have parking (I took one of the last ones, and arrived at 0900 on Sunday). The Chuck wagon part is very nice and worth the detour!

spectacular views, devil's bridge is awesome

Light traffic on the trail for a cool Saturday morning. A few mountain bikers but a perfect distance and a good challenge for trail running.
