Busy. November so water was low and cold. Easy walk suitable for all ages. Fat flowing river surrounded by beautiful canyons. Picnic tables with charcoal grills. Could have spent the whole day just roaming around. $10 ample parking.

Pretty but not much of a hike.

Slide Rock is beautiful. It can be busy at times. We actually parked far, then just hiked down from where we parked. Found a secluded swim area. Not recommended for everyone to do this as it is a steep, primative hike down.

Great little hike with scenic views.

Rocky in places but a good hike overall. Only saw two others the entire time. (Saturday morning hike). Easy parking near the trailhead.

Too short not to go. Worth every step.

A short hike with two trail options, both are gorgeous

Nice hike pretty views. Great for all levels. Take water as limited shade!!

This is also known as Shaman Cave! Loved this trail and the view is Absolutely Amazing! Do not turn off of 525C like the directions instruct you to do...follow 525C to 9530 and take that directly to the trail head. A 4x4 or higher vehicle is a must for the last half mile or so and there are a couple spots to park at the beginning of 9530 if you can’t make the drive up to the trailhead but it adds at least 1.5mi to the overall hike. Once at the trailhead, it is marked with piled up rocks...make sure you look for the rocks or you end up like I did on another tail going 2 miles in the wrong direction. it’s a short hike and easy .... I you wish to go to the cave....the small ledge can make some nervous. Totally worth the drive and the beautiful views are AMAZING!!!!!

Beautiful spot! This is always a fun to do when the family goes to Sedona. It cost $20 to park in the lot, so make a day of it. The walk in through the park is paved with a convenience store (ice cream, water shoes) and a number of bathrooms. There are many steps down to the river and some climbing over rocks to move along the river to find the perfect spot. Bring water shoes, sunscreen, shade, water & lunch/snacks. The river is mountain run off so it’s cold (even on 100* days). Jean shorts are a good idea over your suit so you don’t ruin it or your self. Watch your step, we see a number of falls every time we go. Nothing like stitches to ruin a great day!

For the more Adventurous, go under bridge. There are a few places to jump off Rocks that are about 15 and 25 feet high. The Water was plenty deep, i didnt even touch the bottom. Just watch where other people jump first. So you know where the safe places are to land.

I absolutely loved this cave! Such a peaceful place. Google Maps had this updated so that the directions leave you right at the start of 9530. That was as far as I felt comfortable driving my low clearance vehicle. Parking there added on roughly 20 minutes and 3/4 mile in each direction but was totally worth it. I went yesterday in the heat of summer and there were only two others for the 2.5 hours I spent there. The cave was cooler with the breeze blowing in and obviously sitting in the shade. I could’ve spent an entire day just admiring its beauty. I can’t wait to bring out of towners there. A caution though: the road to get there is 10 miles on dirt road. Well maintained by bumpy in some areas. Also, stay low and left when you see forks in the trail. There are tons of them. If you do, you’ll be able to come around the left of the huge slab of rock on a very easy route.

Fun for the whole family. Get there early and if possible on a weekday. Was a bit over crowded.

Easy hike for beginners.

So fun! Beautiful Views!
We went during the week and it was busy....I can't imagine what the weekend or holidays are like. Go early or you may not get in at all. when we left there was a line of cars waiting to get in.

Amazing spot. Crowded on the weekend

great early morning hike. it takes you over a great creek, marshlands, (via small wooden bridge), up the rock and threw a pasture, (include deer). we took this on our way out of town, and it doesn't disappoint. only downside was the view and proximity of houses.

BEAUTIFUL HIKE.

Apple maps & google maps are terribly misleading. Once you turn off the 89A you will be driving down the fairly well maintained gravel road for quite a bit. The road for Robbers Roost is 525c, DO NOT FORGET THIS. At one point, there is a fork by a sign the says, “Maintained Yavapai Road Ends” . The right (rougher road) is where our maps told us to go but you want to stay LEFT. The road on the right will lead you down a rough road that ends at a gate that will lead you down a dirt trail that then takes you to the road & past the small ranch you could have driven by. The left will lead you past a small ranch then a little after is one area to park if you do not have a high clearance vehicle. You can continue driving up the trail if you do and park right at the trailhead instead of walking the few miles from the first parking area. We did not have to engage the 4x4 at all for this part. Then it is a fairly easy but steep hike. We had to wander around the top to find the cave but when we did, IT WAS GORGEOUS. My bf brought his blue heeler who had no issues get up there. We did not take him all the way to the cave because it is a very small, narrow ledge with no rails.

I echo the Apple Maps problem. Even after reading the reviews I still missed the turn off and immediately saw that the route was inaccurate. Make sure to watch out for the turn off when you get 1.5 miles away from the trailhead. The hike up the trail was pretty easy but the spot where you are supposed to go right and head toward the cave is not well identified. I used the All Trails app to navigate when to turn off and it worked perfect. Once we got to the rock we did find that the only path in to the cave was a trail that leads you to walk around the side of a rock that looks worse than it is. But this was the only path to get in to the cave. The views once you get there are awesome, great pictures, and just very peaceful. Well worth the long drive. This was our last hike before traveling back home and we couldn't have picked a better one. Highly recommend!!

Going to the trail, stay on Sycamore Trail, do not follow the deviation off Sycamore that Apple Maps shows. Good amount of parking at the trail start.

Hike up the dirt road to the the red mountain on your right. The trail goes down and then up to the cave. Just before you reach the cave there is a very narrow and steep area to cross.

The cave inside is big and has awesome views! This hike was better than I expected. Worth the 45 minute drive from Sedona to do it.

I ended up on the Outlaw OHV trail due to my map directions. Yes, I did read the reviews prior to going. There was no sign for sycamore pass road. I ended up on the OHV trail in my SUV, which was not the best idea. I turned around since I still had 5 miles of crazy terrain to go without any directions. Bummed

Such a cool trail. An easy rocky road up to the head, which isn’t marked well. A down and up that looses you near the left ha d turn to the cave. There are a couple of arrows scratched on rocks to point the way. The views where amazing and the cave is super cool. You can climb to the top of the hill as well for some great views.

This is one of my favorite trails here in Sedona. I started at The Baldwin Trailhead and continued till I saw the Templeton cutoff to the left. From here it is a short hike to the river. The river is so beautiful! Some flat parts and then rocky going down to river. Continue going up and up the hill with a beautiful view at the top!
