We looked for an easy hike for beginners and it was as expected. Easy, beautiful and simple.

Great views en route to an opportunity to climb up to a very special vista looking back through the canyon. Really special! Be aware though that there is no maintained trail to the “arch”. Rather you are able to ramble up a cliff at the end that is high enough to view the arch. Does not detract from the experience at all!

Go to the end of the trail, then go about 100 more yards up. You can thank me later

I would rate this hike as moderate due to the length and the steep scramble to the top.
The trail takes you through diverse terrain from desert to wooded forest.
Depending on the time of year, you should leave early. We left around 8:30A, (September 15) and by the time we completed the hike, the temp was 92F.

Awesome trail for families. It’s not too short and not too long.

An easy walk with closer view of red rock

Great hiking trail that offers awesome views of Sedona in a very peaceful setting. Easy access from 89. Recommend that you do the "loop"...but definitely go up the summit that is shown on the map as a "dead end". Quick walk up with excellent panaramic view.

Well worth early morning hike with the optional climb to arch mid way. Partially shaded along the way which helps in summer days. Fantastic up close views along the way and at the end. Would do again. Enjoy

Great views at the end ! Good shade for most of the hike too

love this! Especially the cave and Arch!

Too short not to go. Worth every step.

Great views of teacup and thunder mountain. Also hooked to sugarloaf and went to summit

Very quiet, only saw one other person when we were out around 3-5PM on a Thursday afternoon. Pretty easy, some mild hills and loose rocks. You know how all kids love balancing on curbs? My 3 yo daughter LOVED jumping on all of the big rocks lining the side - it kept her busy and wore her out, she slept great! Not much shade or places to rest without full sun, so bring a hat and sun protection.

Easy trail with an optional rock scramble at the end, but it's the best part of the trail, so do it if you can! Such great views!

Excellent!!

If you have limited time, and want to be cool in the evening, this is the hike for you. It's accessed by a trailhead in the Sedona neighborhoods, and travels up the hills behind the town. It seems to be well traveled by those who live nearby. We saw 4-5 other parties walking their dogs while we were on the trail. (I'm not sure what exactly happened with my recording. Seems it never really turned itself off from the previous trail I did, so I had to zoom in to see the recording for this particular trail. I am unable to edit the start point.)

Easy hike with fairly good coverage from the sun. We tracked our distance and almost exactly 0.6 miles into the hike we found the trail to the arch. It’s fairly steep with an easy scramble towards the top. Maybe 10-15 minutes from the main trail.

I first did this trail over 20 years ago before civilization began encroaching on the beginning of the trail. It is still a wonderful trail once you get past the resort and housing at the start,

Not as spectacular as some other Sedona trails but still a very pleasant hike.

The view from the cave says it all, especially early morning.

Nice hike, beautiful views.

A little disappointing of a hike for Sedona standards. The trail is closer to 6.7 miles and the best views are near the beginning of the trail. It is well shaded in the trees, but pretty boring. There is a pretty good view of the canyon at the end of the hike, but I would recommend a different hike in Sedona.

Nice short easy hike. Great view of the surrounding area.

Easy walking trail mostly on red sand. Highly recommend climbing the rock wall at the end of the trail - AMAZING views of Sedona!

This is also known as Shaman Cave! Loved this trail and the view is Absolutely Amazing! Do not turn off of 525C like the directions instruct you to do...follow 525C to 9530 and take that directly to the trail head. A 4x4 or higher vehicle is a must for the last half mile or so and there are a couple spots to park at the beginning of 9530 if you can’t make the drive up to the trailhead but it adds at least 1.5mi to the overall hike. Once at the trailhead, it is marked with piled up rocks...make sure you look for the rocks or you end up like I did on another tail going 2 miles in the wrong direction. it’s a short hike and easy .... I you wish to go to the cave....the small ledge can make some nervous. Totally worth the drive and the beautiful views are AMAZING!!!!!

Easy hike through a dried out creekbed. No waterfall at the end.

Easy in/out , ending in the rock slide. If you go down into the dry creek, you. an go farther up the canyon.

Beautiful views at the end. Go up the rocks after the end of maintained trail sign and you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of bell rock.
