Easy trail with some rock scrabbling.
The views at the top & along the way up are beautiful! There is a fair amount of rock climbing involved & I sat on my butt for a chunk on the way down, but it was worth it. Arrived at 10:30 on a Wednesday and got the last parking spot. Parking was a zoo. Be prepared to stop & wait for others to get up or down along the trail since it is heavily trafficked.
Awesome hike but soooo crowded! We started out hike at 10:00am on a Thursday and had a 55mi wait to take a picture at the bridge, some very selfish people like to take their sweet time even though there’s a huge line waiting for them to move. It gets steep at the end but it’s worth it for the view!
Quite a challenge on the way up, but more than worth for the many spectacular views. Start early to beat the heat and bring plenty of water.
Amazing views from on top and feels rare for something in the Sedona area to actual summit a feature. Summitted a little over an hour after starting, route finding was surprisingly straightforward on the way up. Way down got a little tricky as I didn’t traverse over to the north side of the sub-butte early enough and had to backtrack after getting cliffed off. Hardest part technically was a class 3 (some could argue class 4) move on sandstone just after coming through the saddle between what I’m calling the sub-butte (smaller peak south of the main mountain) and the main mountain. Lasts like 2 holds max
Amazing trail
The bridge is wider than you think, but the wind will pick up as soon as you’re out there lol
Great trail but take the chuck wagon trail first and then over to the devils bridge! The other part is just a rode and not as scenic!
Killer view at the end. Drove half the trail via the high clearance vehicles route (highly recommend if you have the vehicle for it). Lots of people taking pictures at the end, all very friendly and taking turns, but wait can be long. Go early. Got in at 6:15am on a Tuesday and the parking lot was already full.
Really awesome trail with spectacular views and an option to do some rock scrambling!
A little overrated in my opinion. Very busy, the bridge was crowded and it’s difficult to get a good view of it, and the first 1.5 miles there and back is just dusty sand and not super scenic (plus Jeep’s will roll by and blow dust in your face). It’s still very pretty and that’s why I give it 3 stars but I think there are probably better hikes to do around the area
Plenty challenging for the 50 plus crowd but definitely worth it. We arrived at the lot just before 6am and there were plenty of parking spots. A couple parts of the hike have challenging inclines, we took it slow. We made it up to the bridge just after 7 and there were about 10 people waiting to walk out and have their picture taken. It took some courage to walk out there and thankfully the group was very supportive. We got our pic and went back to the staging area to have a snack and enjoy the view. By 7:30 traffic was still fairly light as we started to make our way down. The lot had a good 6 open spots as we were pulling out even as we noticed people walking up who parked on the street. It’s worth taking a drive through the lot to check for spots. Go early and have a great experience.
Great hike! Definitely need sunscreen and sunglasses. Go early or you’ll have to wait in a long line to get your photo taken on the bridge. Still worth it though!
6-year-old and 9-year-old made it to the top of cathedral Rock and then down to the creek and back. Great hike.
Beautiful and chalk hike to get up to the actual bridge which was fantastic!!!
Awesome trail
It was a nice hike. We made it about half way to the top, my 5 year old got scared about coming down. We saw a group of people dancing on the hillside. It was pretty cool.
Busy but worth the views.
Great hike and looks to be a great bike trail. We’ll be back to ride.
Got there at 7a and lot was full. People were parking alongside the street already. Luckily, we got a spot. Got to the bridge and there was a long line for pics. Was this worth it? Blah. I didn’t care for it. Too crowded and too many people on this hike.
Overall great hike!!! Go early to get parking!
Go early before sunrise for parking, heavy traffic but everyone was respectful. Helping out to take pictures.
This trail has some challenging characteristics but is moderate as listed. The challenging aspects are the loose rock from about mile 1.5 to mile 3. Also mile 2-3 is very exposed to direct sun. Sunscreen is a must. If you want to see the Sadona views follow the app. If your a peak bagged you need turn right at the saddle and bushwhach to the true 7100' summit. Its only about .4-.5 round trip to the true summit. What's nice about this trail is the long switchbacks make it doable for many.
Took other's suggestions and started the trail from the Jordan parking lot trailhead. Began at 11am and was not too crowded- plenty of people but also lots of room to pass and get by. Missed the turn for the caves so did part of the mesa trail before turning back. Views of the red rocks are stunning and it is well worth it to go all the way to the caves- also climb on top of the right one form the inside if you're able to *only if experienced*. All in all about 6 miles including the detours.
