Our 1st time going this weekend and it was awesome. We didnt see any alligators as we hoped too. We were also unable to complete the whole loop and had to turn around. The half loop was also unable to be completed and landed us turning around once again due to flooding. We will be going back when its had time to dry up some.

ALLIGATORS EVERYWHERE
dont bring small dogs. DEF USE A LEASH

The actual rock is cool. Hike is short lived. Not worth my hour drive

My group and I did The Great Wall Loop, which is about 7.5-8 miles. It is a challenging hike with the up and down hills. Some parts are a little steeper, and you will feel the burn the next day! I recommend bringing at least 3 liters of water. We went when it was muggy outside and about 84 degrees. I went through 2 liters of water and another liter I put my electrolytes in. We took breaks every mile or so - take as many breaks as you need! It’s not a rush!!

I really enjoyed that scenery changes a bit, there is this cool part where it’s like a forest, a part that is kind of jungle like, and another part that is more barren. September is also wild flower month so keep your eyes open and look out of the little flowers along the trail!

This is a very good area for biking. I saw deer and a bobcat as well as alligators. I didn’t need any bug spray at all during my ride and I rode around the ponds and down the sandy side roads.

The trail is very narrow in places and many areas were flooded. After marker 10 it is not well maintained in some areas. If you stop to look around the bugs take advantage to try to devour you. I had to wade thru a flooded section that was mid thigh deep which was pretty unnerving considering all of the alligator signs that are posted. Maybe I'll go back during a drought.

If you’re not staying in the paved path, be prepared for unmarked paths. We got turned around a couple of time but ended up back where we started so it wasn’t bad. Didn’t see the falls or milk site....must have been further down the paved path. Easy walk so it was nice for a Sunday stroll. Would be good for older people and young kids. Gave 3 stars because the unmarked trail was SUPER annoying.

beginning of trail was nice but after 3 miles in easy to get post and off trail. alot of fallen trees most of which had the markers on them. bridge is not maintained at all and alot of the trail is overgrown and hard to see. the 7.5 mile that is listed on sign turned into 8.25 with how many times you get off course and lost.

This was a nice short hike with stunning views of the falls. We went early in the morning on a Saturday and by the time we were leaving the trail was starting to get busy. We took our 50 pitbull mix and she handled the trail fine and she couldn't resist jumping in the water. This was the perfect spot to try out our new hiking gear before embarking on longer treks in the Smokies.

The trail is more for historical buffs than hikers, but it's a nice walk none-the-less. Plenty of benches along the trail for those not used to hiking but want to get outside. Very family friendly. The small fall is very close to the parking lot. Took my 6 year old through the trail, promising her we'd stop at the fall on the way back. The area is a nice little spot to play and splash around in. Would definitely recommend for a family with kids looking to get outside.

A beautiful waterfall!!!! Easy loop, definitely go again.

Ok walking trail in the woods. No good views. Just kind of boring, but if you just need to walk amongst the trees it serves it purpose. Hopefully, one day they make it longer and maybe a loop. Bring bug spray and watch for huge spider webs and the occasional snake.

Short walk right to the falls

Absolutely every best thing about the Lowcountry. I highly recommend this Trail it is well maintained. definitely wear bug spray

The trail just reopened since Hurricane Matthew. Compared to the other trails on Hunting Island this trail feels much more "back country". It has plenty of small hills and switchbacks. I'm training to section hike the AT and really felt this was a nice entry level hiking trail. My advice is bring plenty of water, and lots of bug spray.

breathtaking Lowcountry hike! you have to get 4 stars to any place where you see three alligators. the only downside to this place was the parking, I ended up parking at the horse stables in walking into the park

Not a good trail for hybrid/road bikes. Beautiful for a hike though.

Okay you do not have to use the trail to see the falls! You can drive right up too it... sad but also the trail is not marked every well you can do a circle a few times if you do not watch out. Just needs more marks and things that says you are here... had a great time but it got 2 stars for the trail is not marked well at all!

Great place to spend a few hours. The scenery is much different than what you would expect in the middle of South Carolina. I was pleasantly surprised at the sheer size of the rock and the views from the top.
The trails were NOT clearly marked but I had some fun exploring. Make sure to take hiking shoes with good grips for the descent. Loose gravel and huge elevation drop make it tricky.
I didn't find any waterfalls but perhaps it was too dry? One more reason to go back and explore even more.
The road up to the rock was mainly gravel and not dirt but all in all an awesome find and great workout.

great morning trail run!

Clearly marked and a really great walk with a few uphill stretches. A lot of caution tape around and pipes laid out so probably a bit of construction in the near future.

Great place to explore!

Nice, short trail with water views. Perfect trail for kids.
