The best hike under 1.5 hours. The view is amazing on a clear day.

Beautiful, moderate hike that can be chilly in spots. Go early, not a lot of parking. Views are spectacular. Bathrooms at both parking spots top and bottom.

Very well maintained. Great parking. Amazing views. Bathrooms at the trailhead and at the peak. Great view of the big cement box all the way up as motivation

great views, gate open at 7. try to be there at that time to get the best sun rise views and also get parking spots. parking at bald mountain lot is limited but there is much more on the summit. the trail is easy and would not categorize moderate. views of the San Jose valley and other areas are great. good rest area on the summit. overall I would rate it 5 only for the views. to get a better workout start from the Hicks road intersection parking lot. that would be a 15 mile roundtrip hike but would be worth it.

Nice hike. More on the easy side, if you have 6 year olds and up they should be able to enjoy this hike with you. I didn’t get a pic but there were some pretty big fresh mountain lion tracks on the trail.

It was a moderate hike with beautiful panoramic views all along way. Almost entire path is shaded unless it’s midday.

One of my favorite local parks due to its unique charms, spectacular views and wildflowers, and extreme dog-friendliness. Plenty of parking and you’re likely to have it to yourself, especially mornings. The redwood lined canyon on the north side is very ethereal and special.

The Milliron Loop is no longer a loop but an out and back spur due to a trail closure, but very worth it to see the gigantic albino redwood! It’s a wonderful, dog friendly forest with fun trails that offer a great workout.

This is a great park. Very unique in that it has many "decorations" left by hikers, like carved statues. mailboxes full of useful items. drinking water for dogs and people and lots of places to sit and relax. There is a beautiful view of Pajaro valley along the Byrne trail. It's kind of hard to get to because the road getting there is long, narrow, windy and rough in spots. There's plenty of parking and this is a lightly frequented park and not many cars on that challenging road. The park has a lot of different trails and dogs are welcome. no bikes though.

Nice gradual incline to the top with a great view of the bay especially on a clear day. Saw a rattlesnake near the bottom so be careful. Make sure you get there before 830am so you can get a parking spot. Small parking if you wanted to do the incline first but if you want to go downhill first then you can drive to the top which had more parking.

Well maintained, shaded trail for 85%.
Vegetation not as gorgeous like you find in forests but still nice, different.
Pretty decent ascent not hard at all.

Well maintained paths and spectacular views of South Bay. Parking is tough so go early.

Amazing views at the top.

Nice hike. Shaded all the way. One thing i don’t like is that it opens late; it says open and closes at sunrise and sunset, so you won’t be able to go there to see the sunrise. Bummer!

Tough for a beginner, all uphill, but a great trail!

Lovely, well-marked short trail. Most of it is in the shade. The climbs aren't challenging. During the summer, the river is almost totally dry.

This is a fairly straightforward hike. The trail is well maintained and not too heavily trafficked, especially early in the morning (i.e. 7am). The ascent is very gradual to the top and not strenuous with the exception of a few sets of stairs to reach the summit. The summit gives some great views of the surrounding area and some information on the history of the area.

Overall, this is a good hike that can be done fairly quickly and offers some good views.

It was a well maintained, shaded trail. There were a couple of really nice scenic view points...and deer! Caught glimpse of a creepy, rusted wrecked car on the way back...did someone drive off the main road and roll down the cliff?? I wish the building at the summit was open to wander around in...but overall a good hike!

Very nice trail, shaded most of the way. Elevation gain is graduate and not too steep. Beautiful recreation spots at the top: picnic tables with lots of shade, placards to teach about the place, the Indian tribes who lived here (and still have ceremonies here) and the history, beautiful overlook, even a restroom at the top (also at the beginning). took us 4 hours with lots of stops and breaks.

Great workout!!!! Trail running at its best!

Beautiful, well maintained trial with plenty of shade, lots of interesting flora and some fauna. The incline is very steady, with no real steep parts. The view at the top is awesome.

Giving this 3 stars only because it qualifies as a good urban hike. Tons of people and views are so so. It is a great way to get the family out and not a far drive away from suburban/urban life. A couple of nice placards review the history of the building at the summit. Mild elevation gain makes this doable for all ages.

4/26/2018 Columbine, heather, sticky monkey flower, trillium, Solomon’s seal, salmonberry and wild blackberry and strawberry, mints, nettles, wood violets, miner’s lettuce, I could go on and on! Everything is blooming right now so get out there! Great off leash dog spot and never too crowded, especially on weekdays. All very uphill, but there are some spectacular views of the bay, Monterey peninsula, Santa Lucia Mountains, and from certain parts of the Pajaro hills.

Second time today - same gorgeous hike. First time was right after the trail opened. The newly installed gates at the Hicks road intersection and Bald Mountain parking lot open automatically at 7 am and stay open until after half hour past the sunset.

Hike was pretty easy. When you start your hike and you’re in the woods, there’s this abandoned blue buggy down the hill. Looks super creepy and there was barely anyone on the trail also. Views were alright. I traveled far for this hike but it was eh.

Hiked 4.7.18, right after bay area storm, and pleased that trail was very passable, a little muddy in places, but not much. parking, restrooms were very convenient, trail was very nicely graded, creeks, shades, wildlife (I saw deer, chipmunks, bobcat, and lots of birds), wildflowers, and great views. Very pleased with today's hike.
