San Francisco Trails Map

Great easy hike for the weekend! Great views of the bridge.

Beautiful area just out side of San Francisco. It was breathtaking seeing the redwoods. Can get pretty crowded so I suggest arriving early.

Nice hike, lots of lovely dogs, very pretty but not spectacular. I went during the week l, so there was plenty of parking and many times where I was alone on the trail.

Nice and pretty hike with view of San Francisco!

We loved this hike! We started across the street from the parking lot went up dipsea then through Matt Davis, it would be easier on the knees if you started Matt Davis then went down hill through dipsea part. This hike had everything .. flowers, tons of greenery, redwoods, beach views and my favorite waterfalls! The ladder is a cool touch too! It is wet and you prob will get muddy! Thankfully we did end up downloading the map because we accidentally veered off the hike and it added an extra hour to our hike but all in good fun! We went on a Sunday, started around 11 am and there wasn’t too many people!

Simply the most beautiful hike close to a major US metro in my opinion.

Great trail , beautiful views , other trails you can take for more scenery , love the coast views

Great little loop in Marin Headlands fairly close to the city! We started the loop clockwise to get the major incline out of the way, and it was a bit of a glute burner, but the views were just outstanding! Great wildlife viewing as well.

Took a little over 2 hours with a few photo stops along the way, LOTS of bikers and other hikers out fairly early, so try to get there at a decent hour for parking. Dogs are allowed on leash but saw plenty off leash during the morning.

Hiked in the rain and hail today ... this is my local trail and definitely a must .. well groomed and beautiful. Nice incline .. once finished I continued back on Weiler Ranch and took the Valley View trail ... all in all about 6 miles . Nothing like hiking in the rain ( I was prepared for it) .

Easy loop, great view, best to go on a weekday though if you can.

Saw some waterfalls. Not very hot at all, and not crowded. Nice people everywhere. The redwood trees are gorgeous.

Great hike. We started from the top and left the hardest part for last. The scenery is amazing, especially in the clearing where you get to see the ocean. Got lost on the way back up and ended up taking a goat trail rather, which was very strenuous.

One of the best trials i took in the recent past... thanks to Alltrails..
Lots of water streams and waterfalls... crystal clear water and spectacular sea view :)

Great hike for families - the kids loved running up and sliding down the sand dunes. Lots of dogs having fun playing off leash. Beautiful views. Better on a less windy day when the sand isn’t whipping around

trail running

Great run. First time I’ve gone running in forever, but was able to run/jog about 60% and walked the other 40%. In all it took me about 45 minutes. Definitely a challenging run with elevation changes, but also really nice scenery. I’ll for sure do this trail again in the near future.

very peaceful hike

Great for a quick jog or a sunset stroll. Amazing views.

Great moderate hike with waterfalls and scenic viewpoints along the way.

Waterfalls did not have much water. Trail is muddy for a few small stretches but otherwise fine. Some wildflowers starting to bloom.

great bridge views, little crowded, very windy

great out and back. fantastic views

I found the trail incline hard, not moderate, but worth every step because the canyon is absolutely magical.

Tremendously peace view from the shoreline adjacent to bridge

Gorgeous!! If you go clockwise (start on Belvedere) you’ll hit a killer first mile uphill, but it’s worth it! The last few miles of the hike are beautiful and you get a view of the ocean and then hit redwoods/waterfalls once you loop back on Tam. Highly recommend this trail, have @ it!

Beautiful hike with uninterrupted views on the coastline. Be prepared for changing weather (fog, cold winds...). Also, the lighthouse was opened to the public from 12:30, so a 9:30 start from Muir Beach is enough to arrive there just on time.

Great hike! Crowded! Parking is hard because the lot is small. Had to park down the road. If you follow the suggested route, the first part is paved and relatively flat, the way back is more challenging with some uphills. Trails well marked, easy to follow. Love the dogs!!

Pretty easy trails. Lots of side trails you can take with wonderful views of the bridge and the bay.

Trail was refreshing. Lots of places to stop and eat lunch. Went there early so it wasn’t so packed. Parked at the Stinson beach parking and walked to the Matt Davis trail.

The hike and weather was beautiful today 2/10/18. A few big inclines but our 9 year old was able to manage with a few breaks. Although I didnt use this app to record my hike, our loop was 5.02 miles. I gave it 2 stars because it's an overpopulated trail. Lots of groups, bikers, runners and lots lot lots of dogs off leash, even though dogs must be kept on leash. There was a park ranger ticketing people who had dogs were off leash. The parking lot and surrounding area was jammed packed. Even though the trail is beautiful, I wouldn't be back.

Great trail! lovely views of the sea, the hills and the redwood trees. It gets pretty crowded so it's good to be early. Started at Stinson beach by the fire station (steep stairmaster-like hike). The trail gets pretty slippery and muddy past the Pan Toll Ranger Station, slipped a bunch of times. This trail is a knee buster! If you have weak knees like me, best to choose a more gradually sloping trail.
