Had a great time hiking Land's End Trail and walking at the beach. This hike is fun and easy. We ate lunch at the Cliff House. Food was fine but I threw up after consuming 1 glass of alcohol. That must have been my body telling it did not want alcohol after a good hike.

Beautiful place

One of the most beautiful views.

Attempted 5 days ago, made it to Drakes Beach, only confirming, that yes, the lighthouse is closed. Bummer.... Walked Drakes Beach and took in its stunning, beautiful, ocean and mountain view’s!! The drive is gorgeous!! Worth our little “disbelief”. ALSO, there is next to no cell service up that way. If you plan on hiking, make sure you have downloaded maps on your phone to pull up, or best bet, have old fashioned, hard core, hiking topo maps!

We took this trail after Canopy-Lost-Fern Creek trail. This trail passes Cathedral Grove, Bohemian Grove and Founders Grove. This trail is popular for public even children and elderly.

I’ve done this loop dozens of times and it’s always nice. Wonderful views of the Bay! The section to the south is far less traveled. The peak can be a bit windy and/or chilly, so bring a light jacket if you plan on hanging out.

Definitely a hard trail with little shade and the sun coming down on your skin. Arrived at the entrance at 6:30 am and it was the best decision because by 8 am the sun was beaming. Beautiful views with a great feeling of accomplishment afterwards. I Recommend getting there super early no later than 7 if you want to avoid the sun and enjoy the sunrise

Incredible wild trail and one of the best parts of San Francisco.

the light house trail is currently close for maintenance. Scenic drive heading to the light house. Saw a lot of deers & some elks hanging out with the cows

Was a difficult hike but the views along the way is fantastic specially seeing clouds beneath you!

Tough but quick. Good training hike.

This is a tough trail because it is uphill for majority of the hike. But it's a good workout due to the huge elevation change. The trail gets very crowded on weekends and has little shade. Bring water to keep hydrated. Enjoyed the hike on this trail.

Beautiful views! Caught a gorgeous sunset towards the end of the hike. Includes some challenging stairs and climbing that could be an issue for some. Trail was a little crowded and loud at times, but the views were so worth it.

Enjoy this hike and the beautiful views. It was hard for me because of all the stairs and steps this hike had but overall it was beautiful!

Nice little trail on the north western coast of the SF peninsula. Stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, a true oasis in the City that will give you a respite from all the hustle and bustle.

easy hike with great views!

Per person you need 3 liters of water to do this trail.
For parking, you can do the parking at the start of the trail. I got lucky twice.
You can also park on Vineyard Avenue, this adds up a little bit more of a hike but beats going to Ohlone.

If you take Peak Meadow trail it is nicer, the trail is less wide and less people. In some spots there is shade. Basically where you see the river in the map is where you have shade and can stop for a little picnic or a break.

I usually do this trail all the way to mission peak.
Then if I am tired of lazy I do the hidden valley back
if I am in no hurry I take the peak meadow route back.
Hidden valley as others mention has no shade but is faster.

There is a stretch at horses heaven trail which is very steep, this is easy going up but is tricky going down. If you are not comfortable with steep downhill. I'd bring a walking stick or poles
and make sure your shoes can catch the track
one time I brought flat-ish shoes and that was a disaster.

Pretty foggy day last Thanksgiving weekend but still beautiful. Lots of people, but that was to be expected.

This trail is beautiful! Lots of very steep stairs. At the parking area resides the Nastiest port-o-potty I have ever been in, and I work construction!

Great City trail. Don’t go beyond any ropes as the cliffs are very dangerous. On a clear day the views are amazing.

Be sure to go past Geary Street to Sutro park for another quick walk.

It’s so beautiful. I love this place.

Parking at Stanford lot was not an option even at 7:30 in the morning. We used the alternate lot at Ohlone college. The hike got about 2.5 miles longer. Hardly any shade. No view either until got to the summit.
By the way, It was very crowded. Near the summit the trail was narrow you’ll have to maneuver for people resting as well as people on the opposite direction.

be patience. the view from the top is rewarding. but on the way up from horse tsil is dry and nothing so be prepared. make sure to bring water cuz there is limited shade. it's a nice training trail.

Great trail. Starting with North Ridge trail begins you with many stairs but it is by far the hardest part of the entire trail so you get it out of the way quickly. The top views on Mt. Livermore is literally 360 and gorgeous. Make sure you bring water and sun screen- as it gets more open and less opportunities of shade as you go up.

Taking Sunset trail down sets you up for great views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

A few animal sightings- deer, lizards, birds, and little rodent friends. Make sure you keep track of time- I hiked up and ran down the other end which made for a good workout going down as well! Would totally do it again and will probably bring new comers to the area!
