Canopy trail had a “closed” sign today 2/26/21; no problem, took lost trail instead. Didn’t seem like much of a permanent sign but don’t know. Trail is spectacular; all the gorgeous highlights of Muir and the Mt Tam view with several stops for bathroom breaks. This is my second time, def a fave.

Loved it! A little steap in the beginning, but overall just beautiful. such a variety of terrains and views. Sometimes it can get a little confusing to find the right trail to stay on the loop. Would recommend to download the map before you go in

One of my favorites! You get such variety between Mt. Tam and Muir Woods, and parking was no problem along the highway. Good amount of shade, but definitely some exposed parts.

HikingGreat!

Went clockwise to drop down into Muir Woods, stunning redwoods, nice and shady for the climb up, not super steep. Bring a hat although it is mostly cool shade

HikingGreat!No shade

This loop was a great challenge with some great views. Some tips for your journey! We went early morning at 8 with pretty much the first part of the trail to ourselves. Note the west inn and East peak summit don’t have running water to replenish water. We hit the summit last in the heat and it got pretty scary for a bit. Bring plenty of water and electrolytes and get out there early! Enjoy!

Great trail covering lots of different terrain. We did it CW so we didn’t end on an uphill, but that meant going down after the summit was super hard on the knees with steep decline and lots of loose gravel. Lots of poison oak too! And lots of people - bring your mask! If I did it again I’d bring more water (2.5L this go), plan to go to the summit lookout tower at the summit, and grab a drink at the restaurant near the end of the trail.
