I like this trail, not really easy but I love climbing. The view was nice, too.

it was a nice little hike and plenty of water to our surprise enough to go swimming but some people don't pick up after themselves and that's the only drawback

beautiful night hike! 1.8 mile hike. Once reaching the cave and you make it to the top! its all worth it. I love this hike. Beware of Rattle Snakes. I saw two, one under the rocks and the other on the cave. I'll post pictures. Be sure to follow me on I.g skyhighhiking

This is a very simple trail. A lot of sun and no shade. it has very nice views of the yellow hills

This was one of the more scenic hikes I’ve done in LA. The views (on a clear day) are amazing and once you hit the peak you get a nice [reward] panoramic view of the shoreline and cityscape. I clocked in 7 miles from start to finish on this one. I would rate this as an easy to moderate hike. It’s an incline for most of the way up (not TOO steep but does give you a workout) but there are many parts of level ground. What makes it a bit more strenuous is the distance. The trail is exposed so bring hats, wear sunscreen and bring water. I went around 2pm and ran into hikers/bikers maybe every quarter mile or so, not too busy. Saw people coming up to the overlook point from different trails so assuming many other trails lead to this peak.

One of my most regular hikes, because it’s close to home. I rarely see other hikers, cyclists or horseback riders. If you can get out there about two weeks after a good rain in early spring, you’ll see an amazing profusion of wildflowers on the ridge trail above. it’s very quiet - and when the hills are green, quite beautiful, compared with the typical desert landscape. When it’s green out, this is a 4. The rest of the year, a 3.

The first half of the trail is fine but the current detour is a nightmare - narrow trail loaded with bees. Also, the water fountain at the campsite doesn't give clean water.

took a long way to the top . I was able to find the path all the way to the top nice view ..

Very pretty trail. I started at 7:30 and there were quite a few people at the trailhead then; it was busy when I came back in. Very pretty views.

Great little hike.. but be careful of the rattle snakes!

Great trail, beautiful views! Would put this towards more moderate but well worth it. We got there early, 8.30am Saturday morning and were only a couple of other people around. Got a lot busier on the way back around 11am.

Gorgeous green rolling hills in the spring time. Very little shade so plan accordingly when it's hot.

Nice hike, bring plenty of water and sun screen.

nice hike,Spring is great, because everything is green. made to the caves and to Castle peak.moderate.

Go in the spring, when everything is still nice and green. made it to the caves and castle peak.moderate, bring sun screen and plenty of water.moderate.

One of my favorite hikes in L.A. if you want to make this hike more challenging, there is an alternate route that will turn this into a 5 mile loop. From the main entrance on los liones, go left and down to cross the concrete. Follow the trail and about 50 meters in you will see another trail on your left that goes up the steep hillside. From there it is 1.4 miles to parker mesa overlook but be warned it is quite steep. You will gain 1300 feet in 1.4 miles, expect to cover this distance in 45 minutes to an hour depending on how many breaks you take. Shoes with good traction are recommended. I take this way up and the regular easy way down to make it a loop, going back this way is not recommended as it is quite steep.

Great mountain bike ride. Just be aware, if you make a left turn farther up on the trail, it takes you to Las Virgenes. Found this out the hard way and decided to ride back from Las Virgenes to Victory. Great ride though.

very nice hike to the cave .....this app shows no dogs allowed but their is a sign saying dogs are welcome for anyone that wants to take their dog it would be useful if the app showed that

A moderate hike, mostly uphill. Try to start in the afternoon after the fog is lifted otherwise you won't get much of a view.

Beautiful views, I would do this trail again.

This hike is lovely. There are two trails, basically shaded and not, that run parallel to each other so you can still get to the caves no matter which you choose.

Not too much trash until you hit the turnoff towards the cave. It’s clear where to go as long as you know you have to turn right towards the mountain. There’s a sign detailing the rules of the park on the left - go the opposite way.

Yes there’s trash and graffiti, though not as much as described in some of these reviews. There may have been a clean up since they went. Once inside the cave there isn’t too much trash, but the graffiti is all over. There are also pigeons inside, which startled me at first then was really cool to watch them fly back and forth.

It’s kind of a scramble to get to the caves. Just a somewhat steep walk to get to the entrance but if you want to go inside you’ll need to scramble a bit. It was my first time here and I did this alone so I didn’t make the climb to castle peak - I didn’t want to risk a free climb, even as easy as it is, by myself so I just turned back around. The scramble down is spookier than up.

There’s a bit of traffic but parking is easy. Just park in the neighborhood on vanowen and the entrance is right there. I saw two couples, three dirt bikers, and two or three individuals hiking like myself. If you like to hike alone I’d say go around 7:30 am so the early crowd has left but the later morning crowed hasn’t quite arrived.

Over all - it was beautiful and I’d do it again. I recommend going in spring or after rain so it’s green and not California brown.

Amazing hike, great views, and fun.

This is a wonderful hike! Total hidden gem! Pretty easy peasy, and the property owners gave us no trouble at all. Quite friendly!

One of my favorite LA hikes; nice views and a good workout.

This is a fun, quick, and quite easy, hike. a little bit of climbing to get into the cave, but nothing advanced.

A simple walk with a bit of a scramble to get up to the actual cave. A fair amount of traffic most days.

Very easy and going anti-clockwise, the first half is the most interesting. Good views of Simi and beyond.
No real shade so plan accordingly.

Very overgrown !!!

Went yesterday, was a hot day, but inside feels great since shady. Had to walk around the gated community at start to get to start of trail. It's not easy to get there since new community blocks it all. The hikers ruines the rich peoples views :) Also hard to always sty on the trail (at 2 points) so remember where you come from, and when you turn around. don't do so too late.
