Peaceful walk and beautiful scenery. The trail is blocked off towards the end of the trail right now it seems. It is also easy to lose the trail if you're not paying complete attention. But overall it is a lovely way to spend some hours.

A really nice hike, moderate in length and fairly flat. The oasis at the end was beautiful and peaceful.

Really cool spot!!! So many trails and so much to see! I highly suggest checking out!!

As with many other reviews, this hike offers AMAZING views and photo ops. Definitely gets crowded because its such a family friendly nature walk. I was very disapointed with the lack of respect I saw for the trails and signs. Although we only saw about 5 people out of the 100s there this morning, it's definitely important to remind one another that rule #1 is respect the trail. People die from not respecting the trail. I saw 2 gentlement ignore "unstable cliffs, please stay back" signs just for a photo op. I also saw a group of about 5 young adults climbing up a rock for a photo op (which everyone was doing) but there was a clear path to climb up and signage to not trespass the way they chose to climb. We told them not to do it but we all need to be respectful so that these trails will last for future generations also.

If possible, find parking near by! Its $25 per car to use their lot!

Excellent hike with great views! Park at campground and pay $10, nice to have bathrooms. Good mix of shade and sun on trail. Great views of Lake Cuayamaca. We hit Lake Cuayamaca diner after for lunch, always good!

This can get very crowded. It’s fairly steep and has an incredible view of the ocean. One of the best hikes I’ve ever been on. And then you get to walk the beach and maybe have a swim if you feel like it.

love the views

saw squirrels having sex

Beautiful scenery through out the trail and ending with a beach walk back to the starting spot is a great cool down.

Very nice on a beautiful day..

We did this around 8am it was perfect timing. The fog came in later so we had some great views. It’s started to get crowded around 930am.

Oct 28, 2018. We hiked today with kids 10, 11, and 13yo. It was a wonderful experience! We started around 4pm and finished 6:15pm. Taking a lot of pics is what slowed us down. Next time we will hike in the morning :)

Great early fall hike. Beautiful pastoral vistas. Wild blackberries are just ripening...yumm :) Saw a bobcar at 2 in the afternoon, very cool. highly recommend this hike

This is a scenic and relatively easy desert hike. We didn't see any rams but it was still worth it. To avoid the heat, I began at around 4:30pm and got back at around 6:30 (fall time). It got dark fast so bring a headlamp or flashlight if you go in the late afternoon / early evening. And of course, bring at least 2 litters of water per person (the park recommends 1 gallon per person, but I don't think that's necessary unless you're going during the day on a hot day, which I wouldn't recommend anyway.

Got there quite early (730am) and it was very foggy on the hike up but the temps were so mild it was perfect. The include was gradual but you get a good cardio workout.

Definitely epic views.

Best part - briskly walking the beach hoping to not get my shoes wet... which didn’t happen

Beautiful! This is ranked as easy but if it’s high tide and you can’t cut across the beach, you’ll have to go back the way you came; if you’re new to hiking, the gradual inclines will get you a bit out of breath. But still an easy, breezy hike.

No water right now but super nice hike.

Great trail to bring out of state guests and friends.

Nice easy walking trail.

This was a great trial however at the time we hiked it there wasn’t much water. The alternate route on the way back is more up hill than the main route. But we did it because I like to do ‘ loop’ trails (it looks better on Strava.lol). Also there is a $10 fee when you enter this part of the park.

Nice trail. Beautiful views!

Beautiful beach trail. Keep an eye on the tide though if you’re planning on walking back on the beach.

Parking was the only issue, so get there early. The trail was nice & easy with amazing views. The trail by itself took about an hour.

A classic and iconic trail. Simple as that.

Whenever my husband and I vacation in Encinitas, we go to Torrey Pines, not so much for a “workout” because the trail is really easy, but for the views! Gorgeous!

Did this hike yesterday was my first time did the big loop trail 6 miles. Just as we were leaving the fog rolled in and covered the entire valley so awesome to experience with the kids. Will definitely go back there with the mountain bike.
