The first half has tons of oak trees, which shades a lot of the trail. Also in the first half, you walk along a stream and it gives out a peaceful like sound from the little waterfalls, which some might call tranquility. The second half has little to no shade and has the elevation inclines and declines but nonetheless it's a beautiful scenery. The trails on this hike are very clear with no vegetation growing over the trails, which makes it easy to navigate. This was definitely a good hike and the eagle was pretty cool too. Happy trails all!!
Easy hike.
Great trail with a steep ascent at the end.
Started early at 7am to avoid large groups. It was 30 degrees at the trailhead but it warmed up considerably after 45 mins. Very nice hike! Very clear and good views. The rock itself is amazing.
Great day for a hike—sunny, not busy, lots of parking. The waterfall was beautiful since it rained a couple days ago.
Plenty of parking, cute and simply relaxing.
A wonderful experience hiking under the canopy of trees while listening to the running stream of water.
Beautiful relaxing hike
Good trail with some nice birding/wildlife viewing spots. The loose gravel almost took me down quite a few times so watch your step but overall great. The view allows you to see desert, city and ocean all at once

A friend named it salamander trail from a previous trip where they found salamanders in the creek. No salamanders today but kids enjoyed walking and in and around the creek. We walked the opposite direction, away from the falls. We passed by little cabins in the woods that I heard can be rented for part of the year. Pretty trail where some people were walking their dogs. Not many too many people on a Tuesday afternoon.
Let's be clear - this is not a trail, this is a path through some bushes that maybe 20 people have ever done. Also, AllTrails shows multiple "paths", but it was literally scaling the mountainside. If bushwacking is your thing, you'll love it! Otherwise, look for a different hike.
Muy bonito
Mountain lion and lots of deer
Love the change from shady creekside to open expanse.
