Hiking

Pleasant, easy hike on a well-maintained trail. Nice variation with the walk through the woods and the views of the lake.

Backpacking

I crossed the San Jacinto River about 100 yards north of the washed out bridge. At the time the water was only knee deep. I’m very disappointed that my recorder lost my hike from MM35 to MM71.

Pretty pleasant considering the heat index of over 100. The lake is also a very nice place to swim to cool off for a bit

Hiking

This was a great trail. The part of the trail closest to the trail head was a little overgrown. But for the most part the trail was nicely maintained. All in all this was a nice easy trail for Sunday. Very pleased

Hiking

Great wooded trail to a lake. Did easily with a puppy. The loop around the lake was a highlight, so would definitely recommend! Be prepared for bugs and sun, although most of the trail is well shaded.

Running

Such a beautiful trail through towering pine trees and dense green brush. Trail was not too overgrown. Definitely pay attention to trail markers. A wonderful run that reminded me of the trails in CA.

HikingBugsOver grown

Double lake is closed but you can continue on the Lone Star trail if you want to keep going. Overall it’s a nice trail, a bit overgrown but it was pretty busy, saw 3/4 other groups on a Sunday morning. Great views and gets you away from road noise pretty quickly. Pulled lots of ticks off myself so be aware and wear long clothes. Shady for the most part.

HikingOver grown

I wanted to try this trailhead (Lonestar #1) as it has a relatively short hike to double lake, a little over a mile. The trail however is overgrown with lots of low overhanging things. So I was constantly ducking and I'm only 5'10. I recommend starting at Big Creek Scenic Area down the road which goes along a Creek for about 1.5 miles then opens into beautiful green woods with little overgrowth.

Hiking

Was a nice hike, although I somehow ended up in the campground and walked more than I needed to. Was looking for something I could do in flip flops!! Nice walk!
