Wish I'd brought gloves and spikes cause it was damn cold after the saddle and slippery on the way down. Beautiful hike though, will do again.

Beautiful hike! Knee deep snow once you get to Lake Catherine, but so worth it.

Great mid-range hike. Passing through Church Falls is beautiful, and the views of Millcreek Canyon from the top are amazing. Legs got a little tired towards the top, though.

Consistent climbing up, amazing views along the trail!!

Great walk with the first snow.

Good shorter hike to get a great workout

My friend and I hiked this trail after work. It was muddy and I slipped twice, but that was my fault. It was cold and snowy but it’s a beautiful trail and a beautiful lookout.

Not a hard hike. Pretty moderate in my opinion. If you want to get adventurous though, scramble the face of pioneer peak and then head over to sunset and loop down. Really windy at top, but fun.

Fun, uncrowned trail. Lots of sunshine- very exposed, but always breezy to windy. Pretty views. Lots of rock, so watch your footing and make sure you have the right shoes.

Lots of snow. Still very beautiful. Saw 3 moose and 3 deer along the trail.

I did this hike on the morning of one of the first dustings of the year. The snow level was about 7500 feet. As many have stated, it is fairly steep but I didn’t find it that strenuous and it wasn’t technical. You accumulate almost 2000 feet of elevation gain in less than 2 miles. I reached the top in about a hour. There was limited visibility when I reached the summit and there wasn’t any cairns marking the summit so i wasn’t sure I reached the summit but the AllTrails app marked my spot at the summit. As far as summits go, this one is very accessible and achievable in under 2 hours. Great hike to do with your dog because it doesn’t require any scrambling.

1 hr up. 30 down push hard for a great leg day. great fall views

I love the view from top, totally worth the steep parts. Don’t forget your head lamp, or flash light if waiting for sunset.

Moderate to strenuous hike. Shaded the whole way. Nice fall colors. Good destination.

I've hiked the east face trail of Grandeur several times and I love it. For me, it's the perfect combination of length + elevation gain that gives me a great workout but I'm not exhausted when it's over.

The parking is not great, however. There's only room for about 8 cars at the trailhead, then you have to park out on the main road which adds about a half mile to your hike.

Love this hike! And so close to downtown Salt Lake City! Very moderate on hills and a beautiful view. I’ve done it a few times and would do it again!

AMAZING!! incredibly hard. probably the hardest hike I've done this summer but the view at the top is mesmerizing.

Beautiful trail. Nice to take breaks around the lakes. Lots of fun! Saw moose right before getting to lake Mary. Incredible views.

pretty challenging, but accessible trail. Beautiful on the way up, even more so at the top. as far as wildlife, got to see a tarantula on the way down.

This trail was amazing. We loved the section of white birch trees in the fall it’s beautiful!! This trail offered a number of different sceneries all beautiful in there own way. All uphill and downhill with a few little breaks in between! Overall awesome trail!!

Very steep but the view is definitely worth it! Took me about an hour and a half total.

Well maintained trail but no great views until the top. Pretty steep incline throughout most the hike, so you will definitely feel your legs burn. Overall a pretty fun hike!

Hiked w/ my 9 yr old son, 2 hrs up, 1 hr down. Well-maintained, heavily travelled trail, smooth and steady climb. Good for serious trail runners (very few rocks/roots). Dog-friendly. Not much of a view until you get to the top. No cell reception until top ridge. You CAN PARK up past the picnic areas but there are ONLY 7 spots at the trailhead. They were all taken on this hot sunny weekday afternoon, but it saves you 0.4 miles.

one of my first hikes in Salt Lake City, Utah. There is no shade as such along the entire hike trail. But the view at the top of the trek is really breathtaking. Moderate level of difficulty and can be hiked with pets.

Gorgeous fall colors all along the way and spectacular view at the summit. I would classify this as a hard, not moderate. I consider myself in shape but this mountain kicked my butt! Temps were just perfect. It took us 3 hours 40 minutes. Watch the tree roots on the way down, I took a nasty spill.

A good challenge if you aren’t a regular hiker, kids were hiking it too! View at the top is worth it

Great views and fun setup at the top with rock couches/chairs. The hike itself is pretty steep and not super scenic, but if you’re going for the experience at the top, it’s solid.

It’s a pretty nice area. Not as scenic as some other nearby trails but it sees less traffic. Beyond the official trail end is where the fun starts. It’s really rugged and magestic in the upper basin. I made it to the upper ridge but could tell I didn’t have it in me to push on to Twin Peaks. I’ll do an overnighter sometime in the upper basin and hit the summit fresh! Thanks to Steve who showed me the ropes up there.

Great trail / climb! Amazing views of Catherine’s Lake and Cecret Lake up to Brighton.

The view draws the eye over to Mt Superior and across to Twin Peaks and beyond to Timp and Nebo ...

This is probably one of my favorite trails to run down !

The trail is nicely maintained, and I saw very few people. It’s a little underwhelming though compared to Blanche.
