One of the most beautiful trails I have been on. Highly recommend. I wouldn't recommend taking small children.

Beautiful hike at the end of November (11/30/18). Heavy snow kept us from attempting the last quarter mile but I was playing it safe with my girlfriend. It's doable but slick. Really enjoyed the canopied hiking and rushing creek.

Great for a quick mid morning hike.
Up and back is about a 1.5 hrs.
Love the view from the cave.

absolutely gorgeous. after a set of switch backs, you follow a stream all the way up to the falls which offers a nice tranquil sound for the entire hike. You also see some amazing views of the mountains throughout. The hike is fairly challenging in a few places! younger children probably wouldn't be the best to bring here, but older kids would be okay. One of the best hikes I've done!

Beautiful views almost the entire time! It was a gradual incline until the last mile before the lake, but still
totally doable. Sadly .5 miles to the lake the snow pack dies out and you would need snow shoes to get through the final section so we had to turn around. Bummer, but the views up to that point were awesome.

Amazing views all the way up. Missed peak fall by a week. Trail wasn’t marked very well but it looked like all variations lead to the same point. Phone was at 1% couldn’t record down.

From Silver Glance I pretty much went straight up the mountainside to Silver Lake Peak.

Made it to the saddle, about 700 feet from the summit, but time and conditions forced my hand to turn back.

Started to get sketchy at this point of the ridgeline requiring bouldering / scrambling on ice covered rocks with a good depth of snow in some spots.

Disappointed to not summit but proud of myself to be able to summit future summits by not summiting this one.
A different route / time of year / companion(s) are probably needed.

I love this trail, I’ve been here several times and great incline not too steep but long. When you bet to “top” of that branches into couple trails. On the right. Ore covered and foresty and left more views and more of the similar incline as the beginning.

My favorite trail so far for Autumn colors, I went with my friend on Sunday. Very friendly trail as well enjoyed seeing everyone out with their dogs and children. Everyone greeted one another and said good morning.

Loved this hike! Not as steep as Red Pine but longer. I’d agree with others who’ve characterized this as moderate rather than difficult. The lake at the top is a gem. Still doable without poles or traction but It is a bit slippery in spots though, especially once it starts warming up. The snow is packed now so you don’t really need gaiters.

I did this a couple years ago and it was gorgeous!!

Anyone know if we can still hike it now in October?? I know it says best through September but does that mean it’s closed off?

Absolutely gorgeous and uncrowded. The climb up to Silver Glance was brutal and Silver Glance wasn't as pretty as Silver Lake (in our opinion), but the views of Silver Lake on the way back down from the top were fantastic. No meese sighted, alas. A few inches of snow were on the trail near Silver Glance, but otherwise conditions were perfect. The road to the parking area is pretty rough so don't bring a fancy car.

Beautiful creekside trail especially in the fall. It is moderately challenging if you are not in shape. I personally love this hike and repeat it quite often.

Great day hike! Trail was snow covered from 9000 feet to the top. This was the most difficult part for me as I’m not accustomed to altitude ( from PA). Below that it is very rocky, so be prepared for both. The lake was beautiful, though there are other small lakes on the way up. Very few others on the trail, which was well marked even in the snowy areas, thanks to those who went before us. Views were absolutely spectacular. Despite the cool temps, the sun was very warm. Bring sunscreen, especially now that there is snow.

Nice quick hike trail. I had my two dogs but the trail is pretty skinny at some parts so we kept moving out of people's way. Trail is moderately flat for the beginning then goes up a bit then down again. The climb back up isn't terrible and the bottom by the stream is beautiful. Was there a few weeks ago and there was still a solid amount of fish (most alive but some where dead as it's getting to the end of the season). Lots of people at the bottom but you can keep hiking down to find more solitude.

Just agreeing with other 5 star reviews. This path is an absolutely incredible treasure. Among recreation amenities in general it ranks up there with anything Utah has to offer, and among urban riparian greenways it is probably in the top 10 in the US. If Utah had a more coherent way of managing its human-nature interface, this path and the ecosystem it is part of would put Ogden on the international map as an internationally desirable place to live.

5 stars, this trail was breathtaking. Fall colors were glorious and getting to the caves at sunset with no other people there, to die for. Amazing. Will do again.

Went on oct 14. Cold day with recent snowfall. Lightly snowing the entire hike. Trail was a snowpacked singletrack almost the entire way. During the last half mile or so (at around 10,000 feet) I hiked through 2-3 feet of snow following the footsteps of the maybe one person had hiked through it before me. Sorry for the post holing.. The lake was amazing in the snow. Complete solitude, I was the only one up there.

The trail grew less and less defined as the snow got deeper, I could tell others had turned around due to the snow. Be prepared with gaiters and spikes! although I didn’t have either and I was fine

Entire hike took 3h 40m round trip. 10.7 miles RT recorded.

This is definitely not hard. It’s moderate. It seems long though and not as pretty as red pine in my opinion. The lake is amazing though and better than red for sure. Without the ending I’d have given a 3 star actually.

I've wanted to do this one for a while, and finally made it up today with a few friends. The trail is relatively steep, but well marked. I really enjoyed the hike; one of the best in northern Utah in my opinion. A brisk fall day might have contributed to how much I enjoyed it, because we had the cave all to ourselves.

A great hike with such breathtaking view in every direction. Even hit snow just before silver lake and then 4 in at glance. Stunning

Fun, easy hike. Took me 45 minutes to reach the cave. October 6,2018. Not too difficult, beautiful weather.

Good hike, nice views. Lots of Fall colors. Moderate hiker traffic and horseback travel.

We went to perfect timing with fall leaves and weather. At the top (waterfall) , it can get cold so we were glad we had a good jacket (next time I will bring gloves for my kids hand). Good thing we had a friend who knew exactly where to find the location, it can get little tricky off HWY 89. We started to hike around 3:30pm and were able to catch the sunset by 7pm. It is dog friendly but little kids may need help to go all the way. Even if you don’t go all the way, it is fun to bring family there. I was told every season this hike is different. Probably not in mid summer where it can get really hot (unless hiking in the early morning). Can’t wait to return back again.

Single wide trail. Definitely moderate. Hard work for young kids.
We missed the Salmon by two weeks. Next year we will make it a priority to be here mid September.
Beautiful colors and spectacular views.
