This trail is heavily wooded and has a bit of downed timber. Not a super easy hike, but very enjoyable none the less. The 6.5 miles in is well rewarded once you reach the creek and cabin at the end of the trail. Great place for an overnight trip, but doable in a single day. I hiked this trail yesterday in 2.5 hours round trip.

Can you camp overnight on this trail?

Beautiful area and not very busy on a Saturday morning or afternoon.

Most of the trail had tree cover, sunscreen optional.

Some of the trail near the 3 mile mark was hard to follow due to all the downed trees.

Did the trail in April and did run into some snow/ice, however easy to get around it.

If you are a backpacker, saw two camping spots, marked them both on my recordings with pictures.

AllTrails does not have a way to communicate with other outdoor enthusiast, I can be reached on Facebook Messenger if you have any questions about this trail.

Used to love this trail but it has been destroyed by logging. The view at the end is still amazing but the hike up is depressing.

Loved it

Great views, nice rock outcroppings, family friendly.

Steady incline the whole way. I was by myself with two dogs and we all made it fine. A few hours in I noticed some mountain lion poop and got a little nervous. All in all it was a nice quiet hike up the mountain...bring good shoes (lots of snow, ice, rocks). I went middle of January and it wasn’t too bad.

Great trail, easy to follow. Steep for 1st mile or so, but rewarding views all throughout.

Nice infrequently used trail, maybe only 2-3 people per week so you'll probably have it to yourself! I hiked it 11/2017, very few down trees until the last half mile, even then it wasn't bad. It's a steady climb but trail conditions are good, not too muck rock, steepest section is the first half mile. At about 0.75 mile stay left, there's another trail/road that could be confusing. No water anywhere on the trail until you turn around, nice creek there. There is a dirt floor cabin, no door but a good roof in case you wanted to camp and it was rainy, at the trail end. Lots of wildlife in the evening, good birds and a few mile deer. Just a couple ok views, not great for that. Could be confusing if there was much snow, it's not blazed.

Was looking for a different trail but couldn't find it. I found Snow Slide instead. I didn't know what to expect so I only made it 1.5 miles in before deciding to turn around. There's comfortable elevation gain in that first 1.5 miles and it's a nice walk through a pretty forested area. I didn't see anyone on the trail and it was a Saturday. I will definitely come back and be more prepared to hike the whole thing next time.

This is a beautiful hike. I went in September. Was sunny and warm. Then got hit with some kind of intimidating inversion clouds at the top but they cleared up within minutes. Summitting Greenhorn is a little confusing because there's no distinct trail markers at the top and many peaks to choose from. On the way down, I experienced some rain and mild hail. All in all, a true CO hike!

Awesome, challenging hike. Can do either out & back or a full loop back to Lake Isabel. I'd recommend the full loop but was pressed for time the last trip and just went out & back. Great views from the summit!

Make sure you find the summit sign-in (look for a peanut butter jar in the rock pile)!

Insane single track motorcycle trail not for lack of skilled or faint hearted..

Very enjoyable trail with lots of rocks for the kids to climb and great views! Trail a tad overgrown in a few places and a bit treacherous/slippery in others due to motorbikes tearing up the decomposed granite surface, but all in all the trail was a great way to spend a day in the mountains!

Awesome trail! There are a lot of Aspen trees and wildflowers. It was an intense upward climb at the beginning, so good to be prepared. We continued to Marion Mine and it was so worth it! Really cool to see the Mine and if you hike over some rocks on the left and follow the water you'll find a waterfall.

Good, not too difficult trail right off the main highway. We did probably 40 minutes of it and "difficulty" was that it was all uphill. Great workout and fun quick dayhike if you're looking for it.

Nice, easy trail for the kids and me. We saw a bear right on the trail near the end of it, so we turned around and walked back. Kids loved seeing the wildlife!

Really fun trail! Beautiful views, tons of Aspen groves and wildflowers. We hiked this trail just for the Marion Mine, and it was absolutely worth it. Really neat to see the structures still standing, and the waterfall above the mine. Trail is well marked, decent elevation gain and well maintained. You do have to enter the Lake Isabel area and they charge a $6 day usage fee so come equipped with cash for parking

only made it about 4 miles in. there's a good overlook. I would have loved to complete it the whole trail but the further up the trail the rockier it gets and it is more than a bit of a moderate trail. beautiful views. I did 8 miles total and didn't see anyone for almost 3 hours. I'll go back to try and finish another time.

Beautiful, nature at it should be. No people in the trail.

This short and little used trail offers stunning views, rugged rock formations, and incredible wildflowers. We were the first to sign in at the trailhead in two weeks. Erosion has made the trail a little narrow and difficult in places, but the views are worth it.

Went in mid june and snow melt made the river crossings pretty sketchy. Got caught in a hail storm at 10k ft. But besides that and the blown over trees on the trail was amazing and im looking forward to another shot at the summit!

The trail wasn't bad however not well kept. Only made it about half way as the trail is totally covered by downed trees making it impossible to continue further.

Lush forest, beautiful expansive views and wild strawberries, along with numerous flowers, moss and trees. Easy to hike and the mine visit was well worth the extra short distance...plan to do this again soon! Restroom facilities at trailhead.

Followed this trail up to Marion Mine. The trail is almost 100% uphill for the first 1.5 miles and all uphill to Marion Mine. Cool hike but be prepared that if you take a little one you will be carrying the entire way.

the view from the parking lot at the base of the Wilderness is absolutely fantastic! There are rarely more than two to four cars in the parking lot here and we have yet to encounter others once we left the parking lot. This Trail is 24 miles off of the pavement, so most people don't have the fortitude to make it up this far! This Trail is the trail to the right from the parking lot. It goes around the back of greenhorn Peak and does not offer as spectacular views as the trail that goes to the left from the parking lot. We only went a little bit past greenhorn mountain peak and stopped as the Trail began to descend into the forest. I would agree with what the other woman wrote, this Trail has not been maintained in a very long time and has a great deal of down timber across the trail.

Beautiful hike! If you want an of the beaten path trail, this is it.

Rather steep and rocky, loose from ATV traffic. I went about 3 miles to the top before the trail headed down the other side. Limited views.
