What a wonderful trail for a hike! This was my first time. Wonderful views and places to explore with water views, rocks to climb on, and bamboo area. Beautiful. It would have been tough to run if newer to trail running but great hike. Will definitely be back.

Pretty quiet. Good run. Steady mild ups or downs. Finished next to a nice small lake. Drinking fountain in parking lot. No restrooms. Good wildlife sounds.

Love this Trail. It is a little piece of heaven in the middle of suburbia!

I absolutely love this trail. There are plenty of different routes you can take - for those who prefer an easier walk, or something more challenging. It’s very scenic so there’s always something to look at. There is also a dog beach off to the left which is a lot of fun! It’s perfect when the water is low, but after it’s been raining, it’s a little too full to walk out anywhere. Just beware of the parking situation, as there is limited spots and it gets VERY busy on a nice weekend. (Also parking is $5 - cash only).

This is my favorite of all the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area Parks in metro ATL. It has some nice hills, beautiful views along the river, and a good amount of total trail mileage. The bamboo forest is always enchanting and try to find the cave off a side trail. The only downside is that parking can be difficult during busy times. And one way roads in some areas to the parking area so can be tricky. But it's usually not an issue and definitely worth a visit.

love this trail! great boulders in the river for relaxing, and a decent workout too. the ruins are cool.

Birds, trees, invasive species,
Best spot in the southeast (Atlanta, at least)

Great overlook of the river.

Very nice trail with picnic tables along the way. The trail is maintained very well with signage along the way. We had our two beagles with us and they loved it. Even on a Sunday there is very little traffic. We crossed a horse or two along the way but that was it. Very nice route.

Out of 4 to 5 trails I've biked on, this is probably the shortest in distance. However, I'd consider this trail more "workout" than fun (...nothing wrong with that). Lots of steep elevations and narrow paths. Not as many bikers on the trail as anticipated but way more hikers. The hikers were mindful and respectful of the biker's traffic. Not a whole lot to see on the 2 mile bike loop but as mentioned, you will get a good workout. I went on a Saturday and curious if I will feel the same on a Sunday biking in the opposite direction.
I am definitely adding this trail to my favorites.

Really enjoyed my walk here. Beautiful scenery. Lots of people but still quiet enough. Loved it!

Nice network of trails with varying grades and windy-ness. Love running around and taking a dip in the creek with the cool, old ruins there. We saw a fantasy costume photoshoot taking place in the natural river scenery, and a group taking their yoga walk. People have fun mountain biking— look out for them. The pond is a lovely setting for gazing, with a dock for lounging or other friendly activities.

While hiking here, someone busted out my car window. Upon discussing with friends, it turns out another friend had a window busted out here a couple of weeks ago, and another had her car keyed. Will not be back. Seems to be a hotspot for criminal activity.

Nice trail in the city. Easy but with lots to see, especially the bamboo grove. Watch out for snakes.

the best in atlanta for keeping dogs and you cool due to the dog beach

Certain trails can be very hilly, so wear closed toed shoes. (A lot of people were wearing sandals as they walked towards the river, but not knowing they still have to use a trail.)

It’s pretty cool and the best part is getting to the trail that runs parallel to the river. However, be careful bc the park hasn’t really cleared the trails so you might have to hop over or under a few logs. But the views were worth it!

Very nice park with a great deal of foliage to protect from sun and rain. Having said that, I was a little disappointed because of a lack of signage and also because every "path" was muddy and flooded. This won't stop me from coming back but it made the trail quick slippery and might be an issue for older or less skilled hikers. Pretty views once you get to the river.

I love this trail. scramble across the huge rocks along the side of the creek.. I never finished the loop. would just go to the end of creek where it turns into private property then turn around. I'm not sure if I was using the actual trail at points. it may go up further on the hill at spots but I just stayed next to the water and climbed across the rocks. the ruins at the start of the trail are really cool as well. there are ruins that follow the creek too! civil war era hydroelectric paper mill from what I remember .. it's a 5star for the nearby area... obviously doesn't compare to some North Georgia trails lol

Nice shaded path for running. Very busy on the weekends, but the trails are wide enough for everyone. Off the wide main paths, there are smaller trails for biking and people who want a more strenuous hike.

2nd time I've been, and this time I learned that Sope Creek Trail connects to Cochran Shoals Trail, and when they switch over there are separate maps on the trail. Both maps look very similar so you need to make sure you know which one you are on.
We walked an extra 3 miles going to the wrong parking lot.
I was still a great hike, but it's a good thing we weren't in a rush to get out.

One of my favorite trails in the Atlanta area. On the easier side of moderate, but a great workout nonetheless. Wide paths, nicely shaded, and dog friendly.

Very nice hike, there are too many unleashed dogs there. I almost stepped on a 5' snake. I would have given it 5 stars but the unleashed dogs and lack of parking have it a four star rating.

It was a nice trail. I started at marker 13, got to the lookout tower and decided I wanted to go all the way to the river. If you hike the entire thing like I did-make sure you have plenty of water. Also, yellowjackets during spring are everywhere here and they kinda linger around the maps-so be careful!!

Have come here many times over the years. It is a large, wonderful park that hosts many festivals and concerts. No special reason is needed to visit. Perfect for a sunny afternoon stroll and picnic with lots of trees for the ENO.

Easy trail. Pretty views in the beginning but not too much to see after that. Well marked. Keep an eye out for dog poop though.
Overall nice stroll!

This is an easy, well shaded trail with decent signage and lots of options to explore. The mill ruins by the creek are definitely worth seeing! Very pretty for an in-town hike, but there’s a good bit of noise from nearby roads. On the plus side, it was not as crowded as expected for a beautiful Friday in the springtime.

very kid friendly. nice for pets too. Unfortunately the signs aren't very informative.

Go to everyday walk.

A plethora of trails some that take you on the banks of the Chattahoochee.

Nice difficulty with several options to take. Tons of dogs and trail runners. Bamboo forest, great views of the river, and beautiful places to take in nature. My husband and I hiked over 5 miles today and had an incredible time.
