Even though the falls don't flow as much, it's still a great hike.

California has been going through a drought and this summer has been one of the hottest summers I’ve ever experienced. The waterfall has lost its heavy and pleasant flow.

Flat and shady!
Only ~500 ft elevation

Great run for the dogs
Keep dogs out of the sun
Cross a couple streams so fresh water for pups

Sad because the water is gone

I took this trail today! It really was great. I took a left at the campground and went on about 4.5 miles more. He trails were clear, quiet, and not crowded at all except for some apparently long term residents at the campground. I’m not sure about easy if you take the left trail as I did I was out about 4 hours and pretty tired when I got back. Good for a shorts and T-shirt hike though. Great choice for close to the city, I’ll go again.

Amazing trail.
Tried it with the kids, and they loved it.

Bear sighting! Well, nearly. On our way out, two groups advised us that our furry friend was about 1/4 mile ahead. We never encountered said bear, but it seemed to be far enough away from the trail and not bothering anybody.

This hike is great!! Meets up with the JPL trail at Gould Mesa Campground. Turn right at the bottom of the hill (where the campground is) to head toward the dam. About 1 mile from the campground bear left at the picnic area to follow the trail to the dam (about another 1/2 mile) - otherwise you're ascending quickly up a mountain. You'll definitely know if you turned the correct way. :)

If you are going to take younger kids out here, I'd suggest using the JPL/Gabrielino trail. The hike back up to the car at the end of this route is B R U T A L. Mostly unexposed, and difficult to do in the heat. Bikers use this trail, so listen out for their bells and consider only wearing one earbud if you're going to wear them at all. Also good advice for the bears.

Dog owners don't pickup after their dogs. There is homeless encampment within the park. Coyotes occasionally seen roaming the area.

An easy hike, fun when you reach the stream, but hot and dry till you do. The trail crosses the stream 20+ times each way, so I plan on getting wet in advance. Extra socks and dry shoes in the car or keep sandals ready in the summer.

I have not been in this trail in a year or so. But the couple of times I went there there was a lot of dog crap. Specially at the beginning of the trail. From where you park your car to about 1/2 to 1 mile into. Some people take their dogs there and do not clean up after them. So watch your step.

Another thing I ran into was people riding their bicycles down the trail. They can come at you pretty fast so stay alert. Specially if you have kids or a dog(s).

Otherwise it’s a cool trail with some good views.

Trail is open again after the fire and in decent shape.

I remember I went there few years ago by spot at this area. It was nice and pretty long trails 

Loved this trail but I guess I didn’t make it to the end so next time I’ll come back with hubby so we both finish it love it will be coming back ❤️

it is a great trail and easy to walk except by the stream. Porta Pottys are gross. They could use some continual cleaning. A lot of people and

This is a great trail. It’s not too strenuous but you will get a workout. The waterfall is beautiful! The trail is moderately crowded with lots of traffic at the waterfall so be prepared for that. However, for some stretches I was completely alone. Be sure to bring sunscreen/a hat/a long-sleeved shirt because it’s very sunny until you get down in the canyon itself. Once at the bottom it’s very cool with lots of trees for shade.

Also, TAKE P L E N T Y OF WATER!!!

it was super easy. we did 8 miles.

Great

I'd definitely bring a hat, because you will be in the sun for most of the trail. The only complaint I have is that people do smoke pot at the waterfall. Also bring mid top hiking shoes if you want to walk in the stream of water.

A quick hike and good for families and kids. Even kids around 3 or 4 can also walk most of it. Has some shade along the way. Try and avoid windy and hot days. Most of the time hikers leave they dogs off the leash so watch for it when going with young kids.

3rd time back awesome each time. people around super nice. be prepared to see lots of people there and people with loud music. please help the trails and bring a bag to pick up trash there are dirty people that leave trash not kool. but waterfall was good fresh and cold felt good. def will be coming back.

A little harder to reach the falls than it seemed in the reviews. Very nice and interesting hike when you get further into the canyon and to the stream, but very crowded on a Saturday. Come early to avoid the crowds.

Beautiful but not very serene unless you like to relax with 100s of strangers.

A very beautiful hike, and pretty moderate but it does get crowded towards the weekend and other afternoons.

Crowded, but very pretty with opportunity to wade into the pool around the waterfall

Beautiful waterfall, the water is so fresh and cold... prefect after a hot hike up there. Great for nature and creek pictures. Also not too hard for children. I’m nursing a fractured ankle and was still able to manage it. There are some parts that are tricky but there is pathes near by that are easy. Went with my family and definitely going back again with friends.

I liked this hike. You should go early in the morning so there's not so many people. I don't like the fact that people bring their dogs and don't pick up their poop. Sure, it's nature. I still don't want to see a bunch of dog poop everywhere. If people don't want to pick it up then have your dog go behind a bush. Anywhere but the walking path please. It's also sad when people leave their trash. Other than that, it's a nice hike.

Great place for all begginers and experienced hikers. As far as wild life- butterflies everywhere, ground squirrels and plenty of small lizards. My 10 yr old sister had a blast in the water. We went on a Monday afternoon, plenty of parking, not crowded at all.

Great trail for all age. I like that it has multiple trails depending on your activity levels.
