App didn’t follow trail but the views were pretty good and had Military jets flying over head a few times.

Beautiful sunny hike- would highly recommend!

So serene and relaxing!

Local beginner hiker and I just found this trail. I am in love. It is definitely muddy after the rain and I would not call it stroller or wheelchair friendly. Especially the northern section along the river. There is definitely erosion after the recent storms. Not that I minded any of that and can’t wait to do the entire trail. I like that I can hop on in several different areas when I am out solo and for just a few hours. Using my poles I got quite the workout even on the flat areas. Enjoy!!

Had a blast on this trail, it is very diverse in the different biomes that you experience. The northern half is very beautiful running along the beach for a few miles, it also has a good amount of elevation change. The southern half is a little easier however if you go after there has been rain be careful of mile 5-4 or 4-5, depending on the direction you are going, it is extremely wet and muddy. The camps are well spaced apart and are great spots to set up for the night.

Beautiful and relaxing. Very nice w the water and the wooden bridges

The views are absolutely beautiful. Very peaceful hike. Did not find it to be too challenging but just the right amount of a work out. Well worth the visit even if you don't do the whole trail.

I enjoyed this hike! Easy and enjoyable!

Great Trail
What a great outing!

My friend and I did this yesterday. we got lost in the woods for a while. It was really fun. There's a geocache in the woods. It's really an amazing trail and so beautiful.

Was very nice. Good views and easy to walk.

Fully paved walk way, 4.3 miles, leave your hiking boots in the car.

Great overnight backpacking trail.

Good trail, but full of ticks. I only made it half way before I decided to turn around. I must have pulled or brushed away 14 ticks off myself and my dog.

Short and sweet! Trails are well-marked.

Our troop did the entire 22 mile trail on Jan 13-14. We camped halfway along the trail around Dogwood Shelter as the shelter was occupied. The first half of the trail was very challenging to stay dry as there was a lot of water from the recent snow and rain prior to our arrival. Bridged walkways were very slick which provided a balancing challenge with a 45lb pack. One part of the trail was completely flooded and it was difficult to get around without your shoes getting wet. The second half was worse and it got to a point where we just gave up trying to stay dry and just trudge through the water to keep our pace. All in all it is a nice trail to hike if it’s a drought during the winter. I would like to come back when it’s not so water logged.

Okay trail. Pets not permitted.

Enjoyed it! Will be back

This was my favorite of the short trails in the park. Will def be back

paddle sports

Easy hike & took out our paddle boards here (there wasn't a spot to choose paddle boards from the activity list). Lightning came in while we were out on our boards and we got stuck on some oyster beds. My fault b/c I didn't realize we headed out right before low tide. Be aware if you go out of the tide schedule. Nice fishing spot too!

Have walked this several times and it's an easy hike. It can be isolated at times & we've heard wildlife when it's late afternoon (never seen any gators though). Great for dogs and kids, easy hike. Can get really muddy and have sitting water in spots, so be aware when bringing kids.

I used to walk this loop as a child so I love the views look for the alligators they are there! I’m especially tied to this loop I got married at the fragrance garden! Be mindful though it isn’t the best area walk with caution and with a friend

easy. and love taking the stroller out there.

Beautiful trail with plenty of parking (multiple lots around lake). Watch for broken pavement here and there (usually from tree roots). Be aware of your surroundings and, due to safety reasons, I wouldn’t recommend running here at night. Gorgeous scenery though! I love running here.

The trails were a bit to follow, they are poorly marked but the park is almost impossible to get lost in. I jumped around from trail to trail and around the gorgeous lake, to try and make the trip longer. The hike isn’t very long but if you walk everything it’s worth the trip. The only issue is all of the stupid dog owners. My dog and I went on a Saturday and no one had their dogs on leash, which meant dogs sprinting up and barking at my dog for almost the entire trip. Crowded on the weekends.

Great park for a quick walk with the dog!

Nice trails. Very easy going and accessible. There were people running and biking on the trail as well but there was plenty of room to pass. We took the dogs with us. It was a little busier than I usually like. The scenery is beautiful though. Nice peaceful walk.

Great for a solid distance run and good scenery on the loop. I will say that urban aspect of the park with suspect individuals lingering at certain spots and the odors that also come with urban areas versus other running spots in Wilmington area put this down on my list personally. Still a great run that I take on a couple times a week. About 4.5 miles on my route and does the trick for a midweek run.
