Tried to go to Dream lake but the parking lot was already full at 730am on a Saturday. Went down to a lot that had some spots and we are glad we did. This trail was long but had amazing views along the way. Trail is mostly sand/dirt, rock steps, and rocks.

Did this hike mid-sept and it was outstanding. Great views thru Larch Valley and even better when you get up the scree path (steep, but not scary, nor dangerous) at Sentinel Pass. We stopped there and did not go on to Temple Mtn because that started to get too steep for us.

The falls were not that impressive. The trail was crowded and is super narrow so you have to stop frequently to let people pass.

Started hiking this around 1:30pm and the trail was almost all in the shade. Not the easiest hike but I’d do it again with some hiking poles.

Just did an overnight backpack trip at red pine, and summited pfeifferhorn at sunrise the next morning. Definitely a challenging one, but It is gorgeous right now. Highly recommend. Also, if you happen to see my grey, kids, RVCA hat the fell off my pack on the hike, I'd love you forever for getting it back to me!

Such a beautiful hike and great views from the pass. There was lots of fresh snow on the hike from the larch valley up to the pass, micro spikes for your hiking boots are really a must in these conditions and on that type of slope.

Easy to moderate.

Don't go. Gross, tons of people who bring their kids and pets to run around and splash and scream in the water.

Absolutely worth the hike. Our watches clocked it in at around 9.5 miles though. We are fit runners from the flat land and it wasn’t a problem. Take your time and really enjoy the views on this hike. Took us 5 hours. Parking was an issue as the road was already closed so figure an alternate way to get there.

Love this hike. It’s so close to town, and it’s a lot of fun. It’s not easy and definitely not the best for old dogs or little kids, but it’s fun to get a little more extreme with ledges and scrambles. **if you hike it in the winter, bring spikes! Without them the trail isn’t fun or safe.

Relatively easy quick and fun if you start from Sundance resort

Very easy going with a beautiful waterfall at the end. Best to go on a weekday or an evening on the weekend because it’s a very popular hike. Took us about 40 minutes to get to the falls.

Not much scenery as it’s in a valley. Barely any changing of the leaves so not recommend right now if that’s your goal. Lots of uphill and rocky. Great cardio. Never made it to the falls. Heavily trafficked...

Amazing hike with views of Boulder and, on a good day, Denver. It was difficult hike, but well worth it.

My 11 yr old son and I hiked and loved it. The trail is beautiful the whole way up because the leaves are changing. The cave is very cold, bring a good jacket. Great hike, but definitely longer than listed here. I clocked it on my phone at just under 9 miles.

It is beautiful and fun. It takes awhile to get to the falls so be prepared to hike! It’s also very much in the forest and you don’t see mountains or the sky a whole bunch.

Since we had already seen all we wanted to near Bear Lake area: (Bear, Nymth, Dream, and Emerald) we hiked to Alberta Falls and then hiked to the Glacier Gorge trail head and then shuttled back to Park and Ride. This saved some uphill walking and was recommended by a ranger.

Waterfall was busy with people and was just OK.

Great hike!

Much busier than any other trail I've done in the Wasatch, but gorgeous. Only problem is staying on the trail, as there are "false" tributaries all over the place. We kept losing the trail after Red Pine (Though never straying too far). The final ascent up the Pfeiff looks intimidating from afar but is easy once you're on it. The spine to get there is a little spicier, especially if you're afraid of heights, but it, too, is pretty straightforward. I never felt nervous.

Absolutely stunning !! It has river, lakes, views, glacier.. The hike, the views, the glacier lake with ice floating at the top! Take rain gear if chance of showers, it comes in quick. Lots of wildlife, we saw a moose coming up to thw beach where we swam in a lake to drink..

Great workout, lots of people doing the incline today, young and old. Positive vibes all around!

The reviews below cover just about everything. If you are worried about the scramble up the waterfall, stay to the right, take your time and bring some microspikes. They will help immensely. Especially now that it's getting colder. The short jaunt passed the steep steps to the waterfall was icy.

Gorgeous!

very short steep hike. only took us 15 minutes to get to the lake. we ended up climbing up the rocks to the very top of the mountain which was worth the view!!

Hard hike, but the views are incredible. It was VERY cold up at the lake. Also saw a male moose on the way back down.

Fun hike. Very much worth it to continue up to sky pond

Great hike. Very serene up at sky lake

Excellant hike, beautiful foliage in the fall all the way up. The cave at the top is worth exploring, flashlight needed. Watch your footing, as ice is already forming along the stream bed.

on Red Pine Lake Trail

Beautiful scenic hike overlooking the Little Cottonwood Canyon, yellow aspens were vibrant. A consistent uphill not any switchbacks that I can remember. Lots of rocks! Will hike this again

One of my favorites. This trail is increasingly popular so getting an early start is key if you’re interested in a quieter experience. Catching the sunset from the upper basin is incredible and completely worth it — be bear aware if you are going up ahead of the crowds, and definitely push for Island Lake if you’ve got the time!

You won’t hold the consistent (and, at times a bit brutal, haha) elevation gain against this trail when you see the payoff at the end. The lakes are unbelievably beautiful and the views are insane.
