Rockford Hikes Map

Our hiking group has been here a few times- good signage; would like to check this out in the spring

Wasn’t able to find a clear trailhead or path. There was a note on the board about seasonal hunting taking place but it looked like the trail has been shut down completely.

Good hike; a moderate workout. Poorly marked; got lost. Too many power lines made it seem less like an escape to nature.

Nice trail! Weird turn style at the end though.

Great trail with lots of character. Watch for bikers!

Trail is very very poorly marked. Not recommended at all.

The app map is missing the black "sawtooth" trail. This trail is popular with trail bikers.

Great hills; I would call this trail more moderate than easy. Some trails were poorly marked, but overall a great place to hike.

beautiful. busy with bike traffic.

Beautiful hike in Ada Witch country! The trails are marked well at intersections and haven’t been too crowded when I’ve been out. The most recent hike, we saw a giant owl which was pretty awesome.

Beautiful! Easy hike that’s well marked. Saw lots of deer running about, along with other wildlife. The colors changing make it even that much prettier of a hike. Highly recommend it. I’ll definitely be back!

A perfect easy stroll in the woods to catch up with a friend. No need to catch your breath while walking and talking. Looking forward to coming back to this as a snowshoe. Please have snow in December.

Lovely easy hike around a pretty, unspoiled lake. We took a couple of the extra loops and were rewarded with two heron sightings.

Mostly wooded, but mixed with a little open landscape. The various loops give nice options for doing longer or shorter hikes.

too many mosquitoes! make sure to spray yourself well before you get here

Excellent for hiking and snow shoes. I found it very difficult to cross country ski here.

Great trails and beautiful scenery

I loved this trail. You’re in the Deepwoods about 95% of the time. It is a little bit dominated by mountain bikers but my experience was that they were all very pleasant and let you know as they were coming how many of them to expect. Made it very easy to just get out of the way momentarily. Good elevation changes and great distance. I’ll definitely do it again the next time I travel here

Beautiful with varied scenery.

Well maintained trails and lots of trail maps / posts along the way. Stuck to the main trail, but will be back to hit up the little off runs.

A beauty! Some slightly muddy areas but easy to navigate around. Good incline and decline. Spectacular wooded views and creek. Gonna be gorgeous in the fall!

Great place to walk/run. Love the middle loop that connects to other loops to provide longer mileage.

appeared to be a great mountain bike trail with several different paths (I was there as a new GR resident looking to walk my dog). Beautiful surroundings. Not busy. Maps of trails in a few locations were good.
Def not what I was looking for to walk/hike w my dog. Several very narrow paths and hidden curves where it would be quite difficult to avoid a hiker/biker collision. Lots of forks in the road w no color-coded signage. Both my dog and I inadvertently stirred up a yellow jacket nest on the ground and got stung.
Parting thoughts-
I would highly recommend as a mountain bike trail but def not as a casual hiking location for someone unfamiliar w the area/trails.

I love this place. Quiet but some people around. Good hiking trails. Sand dunes. Bring a hammock and stay a while.

Pretty good trail. It does wind back and forth a lot so it covers the same terrain over many times. The day I went it was hot and sticky so there were not very many people using it. It looks like it is very heavily used by bikes much of the time.

Beautiful trail! Super peaceful and great hike with lots of hills! I would say it’s a moderately challenging.
Bring bug spray!!!

first time here. loved it

This trail is moderate, definitely some hills and lots of roots on the trail. It was just great being outside, away from the noise of life and looking at beautiful trees. My best friend and I walked it twice. I like that they had benches to sit on throughout the trail. It was lightly trafficked the time I went, grateful for that. I recommend this trail if you don't mind inclines.

Much longer than .8 miles. The trailhead itself shows 9 miles with multiple ski trail loops you can walk with additional unmapped trails as you go. Very pretty views with the trees and the sand.

First time running this trail. Will not be the last!
