Amazing views on a very, very busy trail. From the start at the chateau, to the view of lake louise from the first switchback, to the view of the big beehive from mirror lake to the views from lake Agnes at the summit, 5 star views are prevalent throughout this hike. The only drawback is the constant line of other hikers going up and down the trail. The grade isn't overly steep but is a constant uphill from the trailhead to the steps below the teahouse. If you only have time for one intermediate hike in Louise, this is the one to do...just be prepared for the crowds...

Early early early! I started this hike at 8am and rushed past so many people so I could get up there first. If I did it again I would leave at 7am. It took me 45 minutes to get up there but I didn’t stop to take pictures on the way up so I could get a table.. Was beautiful though, the teahouse is super sweet!

Outstanding hike! The climb up was long but by no means overwhelming. When you reach the top the views are phenomenal. As everyone else has said, definitely do the clockwise route. It makes the end of the day much more enjoyable. Be sure to take bug spray for the way down as the woods are beautiful but swarming with mosquitos. Also bring poles if you have them. We met a couple of people who had turned around because they felt uncomfortable continuing without poles. They definitely help winding your way through the scree. All in all a great day!!

One of the most fulfilling and breathtakingly stunning drives of my life. A memory from 2016 I will always cherish.

A gorgeous ravine with a surreal blue river complete with waterfalls and boardwalks o we the edge of cliffs. One of my favourites in Banff.

A really fun, random hike my boyfriend and I went on in 2016. Starts off at the base of Lake Louis and crosses a wooden boardwalk up into the rocky basin of the mountains.

Awesome hike! It was exactly what I was hoping for. Got there around 12:30 and the crowds were fine. Definitely had plenty of solo time on the path. Took me about 65 mins ascending with long strides and no breaks. I’m in good shape but still got a great workout. Jogged most of the way down. The views at the summit were breathtaking and I managed to get some nice shots on the actual trail. Wear layers because the top was cold and windy but that’s to be expected.

Hiked here about a week ago and loved it. Beautiful views along the way. FYI tea house is cash only. Wish we new this before we reached the top. lol!

My favourite hike in this area. Amazing views (Lake, Glacier and of course a lot of beautiful Mountains), not very long and definitely worthwhile. If you have more time it’s a nice round trip to go back via Lake Agnes and the Beehives.

Beautiful trail but negative side is crowded... avoid weekends. I have been hiking for a while first time I noticed people on this trail are rude and don’t move to side for faster pace hikers. Most people on this hike for photos

Busy but beautiful once at the top.

Awesome hike but make sure you get the PB&J sandwich at the tea house. The homemade bread is ridiculous and you’ll need the energy.

We arrived at the trailhead at 8:00 and there wasn’t that many people there yet - maybe 30 cars in the P1 lot. Hardly anyone on the trail at that time and we had the cave area just below the upper falls all to ourselves for about 15 min. By the time we made it to upper falls, the trail was jammed. Like others have pointed out, highly recommend starting as early as you can. Beautiful hike and the cave area is awesome.

Did this hike after being rain and hail-stormed out of Lake Louise rock climbing. Cool hike! Gorgeous glacier and lake views. Started at 6:15pm- very few people so worth it (*tea house will be closed this late*). A few short stops and pictures at the lookout, finished in 3.5 hours sans trail running. Long summer days are great! Be aware that hiking/climbing at lake Louise in the summer = lots and lots of tourists, no parking 8am-3pm. Shuttles run every 15m (no matter how long the line) from an overflow lot 7.5 miles away. We waited an hour. Return shuttles stop at 530pm. Weather is often iffy with thunderstorms popping up early afternoon in unpredictable patterns. In my opinion, the tea house, chateau, and ski resort feel more like a fancy European resort than a Canadian Rockies NP. So, for the outdoor purist, consider skipping Lake Louise and heading to nearby parks for your wilderness experience.

Great views. Make sure you stop at the Teahouse, if not for the chocolate cake, then for the experience!

Great hike! Arrive early to avoid the crowds. Make sure to soak your tired feet and legs in Lake Louise. The cold water is the perfect way to recover while eating lunch looking at one of Canada’s most iconic views.

This trail only adds on about an hour to the loop around Lake Agnes. Well worth the extra effort to climb up the steep slope at the end to get to the top. It is unmarked on trail maps and there are no signs to show you the way. Keep an eye out for it at the intersection of the big beehive and the trail that loops around Lake Agnes. Watch your footing as you climb as it does get a little treacherous, climbing up and over rock and up a steep slide.

Great hike and not too bad if you are in shape. Did this and both bee hives plus the plain of six glaciers all at once. Roughly 11 miles and definitely doable in 1 day

Excellent hike and worth the views. Not all that challenging if you’re in shape. If not it will be a leg burner.

Worth the effort. Incredible views, esp of the valley behind the lake.

Fantastic Hike. We started around 7am and only ran into 2 other people. It was cloudy when we started, but after the first 2,000 feet or so we got above the clouds and the views were incredible. I'd say it was very challenging, but well worth it. Probably my favorite hike at Banff.

First half of the hike to Lake Agnes was heavily trafficked, although the view from the lake is incredible. The second half, toward the Big Beehive, is more strenuous than the first, but well worth it. Not as many people, and views of Lake Louis on one side, and Lake Agnes on the other. Incredible, incredible hike.

Arrived at Moraine Lake by 820 am and the parking lot was full. We were able to park on the road but 2km from the trail head. The beautiful hike made it worth while..the crowds dispersed at the trail to Sentinel Pass. The lake was a beautiful spot for lunch. Still snow on the avalanche chutes and you could hear some avalanche activity along the trail. A great day ended with breathtaking views around Moraine Lake.

Wonderful hike. 4 stars only because it was busy. Kids 7 and 10 did fine-just complained near the top. My phone says we went 6k there and back. Started at 830. Definitely best to start early.

Amazing view. Well worth the time. Not to difficult

This is a great trail run or walk. Although the views on the trail aren't really remarkable given the location, the views from the top are unforgettable.
For a 1-2 hour run/walk, you couldn't choose a more convenient one with such great views. Also, there is a $35 buffet at one of the restaurants at the top in-case you need to fill up on energy.

Be sure to bring your own water or water bottle as the bottles at the base are sold for $3.

As an even better end to most hikes, you can go to the hot springs which are located at the foot of the trail. Bring your swimsuit and leave it in your vehicle!

Such a great hike! At an incline pretty much the entire hike, but well worth it at the top and at various points to see Lake Louise and Mirror Lake. We were planning on getting here pretty early, but ended up running late. As expected there were tons of people on the trail and at the tea house. I also did not realize the tea house is sit down with table service, which made waiting for a table much longer. Still worth the views. I made it to the top in about 40 minutes.

Went early at 6:30 am and glad that I did! It was a beautiful hike, but on the way down saw tons of people on their way up. Go early so you don’t have to fight the crowds!

One of the most beautiful drives with plenty of stops and activities throughout.

Did this today starting from lake agnes trail at lake louise. At the junction of big beehive, turn right where a log blocks the path. Follow the trail all the way up and a short scramble few meters from the junction (almost got lost). Make sure you wear good hiking boots, gloves or poles for support as you scramble going up to the summit. The 70 degree steep scree was worth it once you reached the top! I think this trail is way better than taking the plain of six glaciers. Arrive early at the park (7-8am) coz it gets full easily. And make sure you get a pass and dont park infront of a sign ‘No Parking from 11pm-8am’. We’re blessed they gave us a friendly reminder ticket for doing so...a must hike! Awesome views along the trail!
