An okay trail, grass grows on the trail so if it's a little muddy it gets slick. There are also mole holes to watch out for, or else you might twist an ankle. Pretty peaceful trail, somewhat close to the road so you'll hear cars and people working on their lawns here and there. Good beginner trail or for those with children, plenty of places to sit down.

Another nice hike. Uphill coming out of the trail was a decent leg burner. My 4 year olds did well and 6 year old had no problem. Easy access from the campground where we stayed.

The Old Hickory Trail is a great place for a quick hike if you want to experience quiet and solitude. On a good day, you may see plenty of deer on the trail especially around the boardwalk areas and perhaps a gaggle of turkeys near the pond. Few people know about the history of this trail, but about half a century ago this area was desolate from the construction of the damn near by. The way the woods have reclaimed the land really makes me appreciate the perseverance of nature.

Me and my mom walked this trail today. My mom heard deer, birds , and woodpeckers. My mom saw deer, chipmunks, birds, and butterflies. Good trail!

Short trails, great for a quick walk in nature close by. I don't know if it was just this time of year but there were parts of the trail where the brush was totally overgrown and me and my pup were high stepping in knee high thicket. Most of the trail was well kept. Also there are some points in the trail that could be marked clearer for those who don't have the greatest sense of direction. There are some forks in the trail with no markers indicating which path leads to where, so know that. Overall a seemingly good option close to town for a quick one in nature.

My first time to walk here, I did not look at the map they provide and just walked 20 minutes, I like the openness, shaded areas and wildlife, next time I will walk the other side and make 30 minutes, thank you Rowlett.

Popular spot for field trips if you grew up in Indiana. Fox Island features Indiana's beautiful wetlands and wildlife, with a very friendly and informative staff. Great place for picnics and beautiful walks.

Very beautiful, pure Indiana countryside. Even though it's such a short trail, it may very well be one of my favorites I've hiked in Indiana. It offers flower-filled meadows, wetlands, hills, and gorgeous wildlife. This trail is usually how I access Pokagon State Park, as it has a connector trail.

Simple relaxing little walking paths that connects to a beautiful little picnic table area with a great view of the river and the rushing water.

Great for morning exercise, or a relaxing day at the park with your family. The ducks are fun, and the playground is great.

Directions are incorrect. Took to gated dead end with no parking sign.

The Nix Creek Trail in Texarkana, Arkansas is an outstanding 2.5 mile trail that is well maintained by the City of Texarkana, AR. This views along the trail are some of the best in Texarkana. The trail is slightly uphill from south to north and is 10 feet wide asphalt. Every year in February we hold our our half marathon and runners come from all the country due to being able to run one half in two states. Additional wide sidewalks are being added in the Trail north of Arkansas Blvd. On Arkansas Blvd there is a great trail head with adequate parking. Please give this a try asap.

Bringle Lake has five miles of trail completed with two miles under development..The trail varies in width but is generally 8-10 feet wide. It is perfect for running, walking, and bike riding(mountain). It is dog friendly and a very peaceful walk in Nature. Some of the views around the spillway are over the top great.
In the near future this trail will cross University, crossing the campus of Texas A & M University of Texarkana. Once completed, this will be an outstanding seven mile loop trail. There is also a separate mountain bike trail that is getting lots of usage by locals.

This trail stays too wet to mow till late June, so plan on hiking through water. When unmowed, it’s hard to follow and stay on the trail.
It does go through the center of the marsh and once off the towpath, it seems like you are out in the middle of a huge wetland.
Lots of cool flowers, trees (on the small size) and birds to see.
A short easy hike.

That trail head is very easy to miss. Google takes you to the west side of the creek, the Rowlett Nature trail is on the east side. It has a picnic bench, and a tiny pond complete with a gravel parking lot at the entrance. You can not see the trail from the street. On the west side of the creek is another paved parking lot and a few tiny, but very overgrown trails; great spots for fishing though.

wildlife sounds and sights were awesome. northern loop is barely there...seemed to be more of reeds pushed down by a 4wheel drive vehicle. (and ended up taking me way northwest through swamp, ankle deep water and muck, until finally met up with power line trail). southern loop of this hike is good, level gravel and mowed ground. When I did this loop at 7am, I saw lots of deer including a huge buck. lots of snowy egrets and blue herons too.

loud highway noise to start (runs parallel to I69). once you turn from the highway, lots of birds can be seen and heard! even saw 2 swans. lots of wildflowers and butterflies. muddy trail in some parts.

Excellent beginners trail, nice and wide with several other trails to pick from including one along the lakes edge. Nice view of lake on north side on spillway. Has a playground and volleyball court and picnic areas. Very impressed!

There were so many ticks, my dog had 17 ticks on her. And I had 7 on me.

not much to see except for down the river looking at the pyramid and bridge

Trail consists of two loops, Shawnee and Lenape. Colorful prairie plantings, farm fields reverting to nature, birds such as prairie warblers. Tangeman Woods is across St. Rd 46 from property.
