It was a beautiful hike and worth the uphill battle. It is very strenuous but was able to stop along the way. The views are breathtaking and if you decide to go up a little further you’ll get a surprise.

Super easy hike. Waterfall is 5 minutes from the trailhead. Would recommend going to the west side if you're looking to go up a bit higher. The east side doesn't go all the way to the top.

Nice hike with lots of people, I prefer wilder hikes with no handlebars or decks.
It was so crowded that was difficult to find a spot for taking pictures.

This hike was phenomnal! So much beautiful scenery. The hike has quite the incline on the way up. But the views at the top are totally worth it! Make sure to get there EARLY! The parking lot was full by 830am. Besides the parking nightmare, it was perfect. Also, the trail is pretty shaded the whole way which helps!

Absolutely stunning and worth the relatively strenuous hike up (coming from a FL girl). We started this hike around 6:30pm and the temp (in late July) was perfect!! Thanks for the awesomeness Mother Nature!

Beautiful, popular, easy loop trail!

Beautiful Hike! Get there early (around 6:30a/7a) to beat the crowds. Steep, but totally worth it! Make sure to pack lots of water.

This is a nice/easy walk on the west side of RMNP. Not too much to see along the way. They website said the cabins would be open but once we reached them they were not so my kids were a little disappointed. Very easy walk for small children or people with physical limitations.

This is a great little hike just outside of Grand Lake. We had our 3 young children and they made it to the falls without issues. You can continue on for more spectacular views from the falls. You also get great views of Grand Lake from parts of the trail as well.

This is a nice steady incline hike. Very kid friendly, well maintained, mile markers on trail, falls at the top and the option to loop around the lake back down. Lots of beautiful flowers, plenty of wildlife, dog friendly and stellar views. There is NO FEE to hike or park, ample parking and easy to find. If you need a map, just go into the main building on the left hand side as you enter the YMCA and Snow Mountain Ranch and ask the front desk for the trail map to the falls, very friendly.
We live here, but a great starter trail for others to acclimate to the elevation. Stay hydrated and enjoy the views!

Did this hike with our 10 and 13 year old girls on a stop while biking 14 miles. It was very tough but everyone loved it and there were no complaints. Bring a lot of water. Getting there is very steep and rocky for the majority of the way.

Very easy trail for the family to hike. Pretty river at the end with a mild falls. A great place to Get a picture with the whole family. Hiked on 6-7-18

Amazing hike! Best advice I can give is to wear shoes with ankle support. I'm pretty fit, but it's super rocky terrain and rolled my ankle on this trail. I wasn't wearing proper hiking shoes (just good pair of low-top running shoes). I would say this hike is more on the strenuous side just because of the sharp inclines and rockiness of the trail.
As you walk, you'll find little air vents with cool air coming out, take advantage of them!
You'll be tired when you get to the top, but make sure you go to Sprouting Rock! It's really close and beautiful.

Lots of people but our family had some amazing privacy in the valley to observe two moose. What a great experience for this family from Michigan.

Fun hike great falls at the end

Great hike! About half and half with flat, dirt trails and rocky areas. Lots of great views. Packed a lunch and ate at a shaded picnic table on the lake. My dog loved the area as well!

What a hike! Totally worth it!

Quick and easy hike.

This was a great trail for my 7 and 4 year old kids. The perfect length, nothing too strenuous and a great reward at the end. The waterfall is just beautiful. The trail is pretty sunny, the Larson side is much shadier. We saw several bird species, squirrels, chipmunks and even a porcupine. The wildflowers were beautiful! Well maintained trail, easy to read and follow, bathrooms at the trailhead. We had no issue parking but it was a bit of a colder day, the lot is small so I can see it getting crowded sometimes.

Short hike up stone steps. Amazing views. We finished just before a storm rolled in

Easy hike to see a great waterfall.

Fun trail, and the lake is breathtaking.

Forget that it’s touristy, it’s not easy. There’s a reason that it’s popular. It’s a beautiful place. The trail is challenging and rocky in many parts. But it’s diverse enough with many shady places to stop and rest along the creek with little waterfalls and birds. The lake and the views on top are wonderful. Have lunch up there. And I got under the waterfalls partially at Sprouting Rock, just 100 feet up. Don’t get fully under, you’ll get clobbered! Loved the hike.

Considering no one seems to go here or even know about it, it is worth the 2 minutes off the main road and 3 min walk. Impressive story. Bring swim trucks and shoes and get in or hike to the top and get a cool view

Beautiful easy hike and awesome views. We hiked Cascade Falls first and decided to head to Monarch Lake and was so happy we did. Beautiful!!

This was an amazing hike. It could be difficult for some people due to the terrain. It was so nice. Make sure to go early. We got there at 5:45 am and was the first to the lake. When we were walking down there was a ton of people walking up.

Awesome hike but heavily trafficked. Go in early spring or late fall! And hike further for a surprise!

Loved this and went a bit farther to get 3-4 miles. Definitely one of the best in the area!

I liked that this was a loop and therefore I got 4 miles in without retracing any steps. I didn't have a problem with bugs although did see a couple mosquitos. Nice creek and lake views. Got there around 9am and not a lot of people there at that time so pretty nice. Seemed to arrive around 10.
