Incredible view of multiple lakes and Mountain View’s, steep climb in the half mile

Great trail. I didn’t see anyone for the middle 2.5 hours. Beautiful views, great wildlife.

Really enjoyed this hike. Great blend of flat terrain at the beginning, lots of woods in the middle, and a great view at the top. Well worth it.

Great trail. A lot of switch backs that make the climb fast yet steady. Elevation wise it got tough for me around the last mile. Very sluggish but worth it. Even had some snow which made it even prettier.

Great hike and great weather. There was about 2" of fresh powder near the lake but no snowpack. I saw a giant moose near the trailhead and saw tracks everywhere. Keep your eyes peeled. Almost every time I come to the Wild Basin area I see a moose or two. I started my hike at 7:15 and got to bluebird lake at 9:45 (2.5hrs). Round trip took me less than 4.5 hrs. I've hiked this trail many times and keep coming back. Great trail!

Great hike!

An amazing hike that gets your blood pumping. From the Ranger Station to Chasm Lake is a 4.2 mile hike that ascends 2,522 vertical feet, so the out and back hike is 8.4 miles as opposed to the 7.7 miles listed here. It’s a tough and steep high altitude trail, so bring plenty of water. It’s strenuous, but the payoff is absolutely surreal. This trail brings you right up to the east face of Longs Peak. Chasm Lake is one of the most beautiful and awe inspiring high altitude lakes that I’ve ever seen. Bring a good camera, because the photo opportunities are terrific throughout.

Great views and well worth the hike! Should be listed as ~8.4 miles though.

Actually 14 miles. Steady incline. Same views for most of the hike otherwise it would be higher rated. I like variety. Lots and lots of switchbacks!

A fun, but steep trail with wonderful views of the valley. It was incredibly windy above the tree line. I'll post pictures tonight.

I had a lot written in this review but for some reason my Google Android decide will delete it it was great

Amazing trail and hike. Well kept. Saw several moose. Was a perfect fall day.

Beautiful trail! Lots of great pathways, with good elevation and views!

Definitely a fun hike. Great payoff for an intense (if you’re from the Midwest) hike. Would do it again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful hike, we got there at 7 am and made it to the top in 1.5 hours. I would say moderate to strenuous for sure, lots of rock steps. View at the top was totally worth it!

We made it to Ouzel Creek - it was about 5 hours RT for us. Gradual incline, but the last mile was rough. That said, incredible vistas at every turn make for lots of little pay-offs before the finish. Recommend.

Super challenging hike. Essentially 4 miles of stairs on the way up. Gets really windy when you hit the 1.7 remaining mark. Make sure to bring wind jacket, hat and gloves. First part is in the trees then you venture into the valley where it is super windy, once you get to the sign where it points to chasm lake or longs peak follow the trail to the left alongside of the mountain. First you will see peacock lake and continue until you see the chasm lake sign. Have to climb up a lot of rocks to get to chasm lake. Beautiful hike but definitely a challenge on the legs.

Great hike. quiet and not too many hikers

Good hike for families. Beautiful views!

Moderate hike especially the first 1 1/2. Stop to see all the different Vally views on the way up. Once on top, enjoy the great views of Estes Park. Good for a 3 to 4 hour hike.

Great hike. We did it with a toddler in the carrier. Definitely a workout but doable. Beautiful up top but high winds!

Great views. Good trail to acclimate to altitude gradually.

Amazing! Beautiful hike with a great variety of scenery. Fairly tough incline throughout, but manageable if you pace yourself, and is worth it for the amazing views at the top.

Good hike and the views at top are well worth the effort. our first in RMNP and looking forward already to a few more this week.
