If you're willing to climb up some rocks along the waterfall, you'll be rewarded with a great view. The trail itself is very short, but it would be challenging for anyone who was not very sure-footed.

Amazing trail with plenty of water view and river trail!

Good, fairly easy hike. Bring plenty of water. Weather changes quickly. Very pretty views of the valley.

Was warned about the crowds, so we left the Bear Lake parking lot at 6:45 AM. Hike was peaceful and spectacular. We stopped 3-4 times to catch our breath. We hiked at a modest pace and finished in two hours.

Beautiful hike... Well-marked and easy to follow. It will fall between easy to moderately-difficult depending on the person. The last bit of the trail leading up to Emerald Lake is the most challenging portion: a steep incline with LOTS of stairs. Dream Lake and Emerald Lake are breathtaking and well worth it, though. I gave it four stars because of how heavily trafficked it was. If you are looking for a peaceful wilderness experience... this may not be the choice for you. Lots of people, loud voices, and cell phones at every turn.

So beautiful

Very peaceful and good place to have an impromptu lunch.

Definitely quite the trek going up, the switchbacks were a little difficult as I hadn’t adjusted to the altitude yet. Great views of the park on the way up. Once at the top there are a lot of options to go to other areas such as bear lake and Hollowell Park. The lake has ducks that are super friendly and cute, and it is a super scenic lake, very peaceful.

Beautiful scenery at every turn, and very, very crowded. I would rate this hike as Easy-Moderate. Half the trail is literally paved and the second half is well maintained stair steps. Our 5 year old tackled this with no problems.

Very easy trail with great educational interpretive signs posted throughout. Great for all ages.

took our young children and really enjoyed it! challenging but doable for them. plenty of shade and places to stop. breathtaking scenery.

Definitely gets full of traffic early, and make sure everyone uses the restroom before you park; the restrooms at the entrance are the most disgusting things I’ve ever walked in and then immediately out of.

Beautiful views along the entire walk!

Great route not to be missed if visiting area. Stay hydrated, especially if not used to altitudes.

Up and down

Gorgeous! Hike is moderate with trails easily marked. We saw many elk along the way. We took the shuttle from town because we arrived later in the day and couldn’t park at Big Bear of transfer station...they were full. It was a very pleasant drive up to the hike...and we could both admire the scenery!

This trail felt like walking through a fairy tail. Just too perfect. We arrived at 4:30, after the crowds were leaving; but the trail was still swamped with people. Completely worth the crowds. Just magical.

The hike up was more than I anticipated but definitely worth it. I hung out at the lake and made friends with a duck. It was a beautiful midweek day and passed less than ten other adults. Didn’t see anyone younger than a teenager. I wouldn’t bring kids on this hike if you’re doing it from the main trailhead. Too steep and narrow for kids in my opinion!

The trail was nice until the day's weather decided to turn on us and we were hailed off of the mountain. Fantastic thunderstorm. Will have to try to complete this trail again sometime. The kids enjoyed it before the thunder started rolling!

Even though the heavy weather was rolling in as we were headed back to the trailhead, people were still climbing the ridge! I am guessing that most of these folks were from out of town....people die every year in Rocky from lightening strikes. The weather, hiking etiquette and the 10 essentials need to be taken seriously.

Finally found parking at Glacier Gorge Trailhead. Hiked out to Alberta Falls and then headed back to the trail junction and headed to Bear Lake. Walked the .5 mile loop around Bear Lake. Took the shuttle back to Glacier Gorge. Absolutely beautiful hike. Took a lot of pictures. Not a pro hiker. Uphill stretches are tiring but well worth it.

Vraiment beau paysage !!

Beautiful trail. Definitely arrive by 7:30 am to avoid heavy traffic. If you are not an early riser and always lucky, arrive around 10 am to take the early birds' spots.

Beautiful scenery but there are better ones than this lake.

Very easy beginner trail but so beautiful everyone will want to go. I walked Bear lake trail first then took Alberta Falls Route. A lot of people on weekends.

Great hike. Decently steep towards the top before the lake but gem lake is beautiful. Went further to balanced rock which was an 8 mile round trip and had some good views along the way. Would hike again!!

It's worth the uphill grade to see Emerald Lake. Very pretty and attainable.

This hike without other factors should be a 5. Three great hikes in a short hike. But the amount of people on this trail just ruins it. Started at 830 and already way too late.

Once you get the lakes don't find a place to sit down immediately as other do. Explore around the lake to find some solitude.

Really want to do this hike again but starting at 530 am.

Did this hike with wife and kids (2 and 5). Had hiking carrier for them but they also took turns hiking.

Part of the RMNP but start outside of park. Started at donut shop on the way to trail. Great donuts but made hiking a little tougher.

This hike is different than being in the RMNP, the rocks-boulder different shapes and sizes. Made for numerous little caves, which the 2 and 5 year old loved.

On the way up, get some good views of Estes park.

There is a actual toilet near the top. My 5 yr old loved this!!

Lake is very ok. Also leaches in the lake, so don't get all the way in. But plenty of exploring and climbing near the lake for the kids.

Did this hike with wife and kids (2 and 5). 5 yr old hiked off and on.
