Beautiful hike. Get there early, it gets crowded quickly.

Amazing hike with 11 and 13 year old kids. Crowded at Alberta Falls; but the crowds really drop off after that. The Loch is GORGEOUS, but don’t stop the the edge. Walk all the way around to get the views. We saw two sets of elk swimming in the lake. Would have loved to go all the way to Timberlake Falls or Sky Pond, but my family wasn’t having it.

The location is nice since it is right off the road on the way into Estes. View are pretty. Parking can be a bit tough. Crowded. Folks need to remember that dogs are NOT allowed in RMNP.

Loved it! The view was gorgeous. I didn’t read many reviews but was caught off guard at the big boulders that had to be climbed to view the lake.

they don't allow dogs so if you plan on bringing your first baby don't go here

Finally found parking at Glacier Gorge Trailhead. Hiked out to Alberta Falls and then headed back to the trail junction and headed to Bear Lake. Walked the .5 mile loop around Bear Lake. Took the shuttle back to Glacier Gorge. Absolutely beautiful hike. Took a lot of pictures. Not a pro hiker. Uphill stretches are tiring but well worth it.

We hiked this trail on the way to Andrews Creek campsite and it was awesome. We caught some nice sized rainbow trout that we cooked up for dinner. You need a permit if you are staying overnight and the campsites are by reservation only.

Very easy beginner trail but so beautiful everyone will want to go. I walked Bear lake trail first then took Alberta Falls Route. A lot of people on weekends.

I did it with stock new Silverado. it was brutal for this kind of car, though it has 4x4 low and all that crap, this trail is not for stock SUV like KIA sportage or so, because it is really rocky and you dont enjoy the drive.
I would recommend a jeep or something like Expedition for this.

other than that, lake is nice and all, but not breathtaking.

Awesome hiking but not for the faint of heart. Be well acclimated before heading out on this beautiful hike.

Tough trail for someone who is not used to hiking but worth the view at the end!

Come on...Rocky Mountain we're talking about...every place is beautiful...some more than others....even a short little hike like this for some disabled 55+/- year olds has great rewards...waterfalls....love n peace 2 all...---...

Easy beautiful heavy populated trail

At over 12,000 feet not everyone would consider the uphill part of the trail easy. The views are spectacular. Of course there are too many people.

I combined this trail and the Emerald lake trail, for totally about 4 hours. The scenes along the trail are very good. Maybe because the elevation here is too large (~3000m), I was very tired although the trail is not hard.

Simple easy stroll. Saw a moose mom with her twins.

Hike to Alberta Falls was easy and nicely groomed but heavy foot traffic. Attempted trail to Mills Lake but ran out of time. that trail was equally nice. On way back hiked to Bear Lake (all up hill) but very nice.

I hiked this both from Bear Lake trailhead and Glacier Gorge trailhead. I preferred entering via Glacier Gorge trail because it was a little more scenic. The difference - hiking from Bear Lake trailhead, you'll descend for quite a while until you begin ascending toward the falls. If you start from Glacier Gorge trailhead, you'll be ascending. This starting point will offer you more cardio.
The walk to the falls is lovely and offers you views that span for miles. Gorgeous. ...but even more gorgeous if you pass the falls and hike to either MIlls Lake or Loch Lake. Trust me, it's worth it. :)
The reason why I'm giving it only 3 stars is for a couple reasons - it's populated with tourists who aren't equipped to hike to the falls. Point being, they're a hazard, so watch out. Secondly, although I thought the falls were lovely and the sound soothing, I thought they'd be grander. If you hike on towards one of the lakes further up the trail, you'll continue to parallel the falls, which is nice because that sound of rushing water accompanies you.

Loved! Hiked up past Alberta Falls, which is where the trail gets more difficult. Definitely doable, though, and not busy at all on a Friday. Absolutely beautiful.

Lovely, easy trail. The falls are just beautiful. Can get busy, but there's plenty of room for everyone to move around and enjoy. Keep going up to Loch Lake Trail, it's more challenging and worth the hike.

Basically a very slightly harder -- but still not hard -- version of the Lily Lake Trail. Rather than simply walk around the lake, you go up a few dozen feet and see the lake (and Longs) from above. Good choice for families with young kids. The Lily Lake parking lot is small and fills quickly, but there's additional parking across the street for the Twin Sisters Peak Trail. Didn't see much wildlife this time but got lucky and saw a young moose here a few years ago.

Incredibly easy, almost completely flat loop around Lily Lake. We saw lots of ducks and a few muskrats on the afternoon of August 1. The parking lot is small and fills quickly, but there's additional parking across the street for the Twin Sisters Peak Trail. If interested in a slightly harder (though still not hard for most people) hike with better views of the lake, check out the Lily Ridge Trail, which also starts at Lily Lake.

Hiked it on 08/01/18. Beautiful trail with great views. I recommend it

It was a great day with my husband. This was our first hike and it was fun. It was too bad for heat wise. It rained and it was beautiful.

8/5/18 - Lovely hike through the forest, up and down on the trail. Trail is well marked. Very nice babbling creek along about 1/2 of the trek; wild flowers are pretty much on/off along the entire trail. The waterfall is quiet nice. Great hike to do if you dont have a lot of time only 2.5 mile out/one way. Definitely will do this hike again.

great for an afternoon stroll. we saw lots of wildlife including a moose.

One of my favorite lakes in RMNP. Relatively easy to get up to and stunning once there.

Very busy for first 1/2 of trail. But, no where near as busy as the Bear Lake area. Plenty of scenery with river next to trail. Loch Lake is very beautiful. Strongly recommend you don’t stop at Loch and plan to go all the way up to Sky Pond.
