Fantastic hike for this time of year. The breeze coming down from Mt Rose was very refreshing. The Whites creek side was almost completely dry, Thomas creek side had stretches of sloppy mud and ice. Very worth a trip!

Really nice but had to turn around with all the mud and ice, still need poles for this one!

Great hike. Lots of ice. Crampons and poles recommend.

I Love the different types of terrain this hike has its long but goes pretty quick everytime. Nice loop that goes over the mountain and has a creek on each side of it. Last day of March and still a lot of snow on the north side

Walking

This is definitely an easy hike. No snow or mud now. It’s close by. Wonderful creek that runs through. You can see people’s houses on either side of the trail but I felt like it was a nice place for a short easy hike and a picnic. Good parking. A small playground and picnic table too. Keep in mind that it’s not secluded. But it’s still nice for being so close to people’s backyards

This out and back should probably be rated at an easy level, there are only a few steep areas and the incline is gradual. If you are looking for a private secluded hike this is NOT it. The first 2 or so miles run parallel to the backyards of nearby houses. Currently the trail is good with little mud. My watch clocked the hike 7 miles with 1000ft climb.

Great loop, beautiful views! Definitely do not come up the Thomas Creek side, it is lethally slippery.

Beautiful trail! Still very snowy on most parts, recommend spikes but no need for snowshoes. Also better to do the hike counter clockwise so you go up the snowy parts and down the dry parts.

It was good. It has mud, snow, ice and decent trails all in one trip so make sure you’re prepared for all that haha. It’s a beautiful place though.

Late March, and there was still plenty of snow! Although we had yak tracks, we didn’t go all the way up to Dry Pond due to the snow and ice still on the trail. As the temp warmed up, some of the snow became mushy and slippery. It’s a beautiful hike, though, and we’ll do it again later in the spring.

Amazing trail - unfortunately a spring storm came through and I decided to only make it to the pond and back. Can't wait to get back out there soon!

Trail was in great condition. Only a few feet of mud here and there. Tiny bit of snow, but easy to avoid

Loved this trail! If all you want is a not too hard walk with a creek and gradual elevation, this is for you.
