It was a beautiful and fun easy hike. It has great views of the lake. if you are short on time and want a beautiful hike this is the one. you first walk through the trees then eventually along the mountain. Mid hike it gets rocky so just be aware of your stepping. We went Thanksgiving weekend and the river was flowing but just not at full capacity. I would want to do this hike again in the Spring to see the river when the snow melts. but overall it was a beautiful hike!

Rough for a beginner. Def need to have some semblance of fitness before doing this trail. Awesome photo ops. Did this trail 2 weeks ago before the snow came. Currently has a ‘Closed for Season’ sign up. Will go back when I’m in Chuck. Norris shape and it re-opens.

I was here mid-week in mid-November and saw very few people. The trail (road) down is unremarkable but wow... That's an amazing piece of architecture at the end. It's definitely worth it for that and for the opportunity to spend some time lazing on the shore of the stunning Emerald Bay.

A challenging hike if you're not accustomed to altitude. About 8k ft at top with nearly 2k ft elevation gain from start to finish. bring lots of water and snacks. It's beautiful with varied terrain and a tram ride back down.

This is a wonderful easy hike that is easy to access. Getting to the falls is pretty easy until you get very close, then the trail becomes a little unclear. Even so, just keep going straight and you will see where the falls are. Right now the water is barely moving. Would love to come back and check this out after a snow melt!

Easy hike, lots of people, beautiful views.

The trail is seemingly impossible to follow, especially on the way down. The hike was definitely fun (lots of scrambling and adventuring on the rocks) and I would do it again, but it only gets 3 stars because the "trail" was so hard to follow.

Easy trail, quite a few people, but a nice place to watch the sunset.

fun trail.love the waterfalls

Boring walk, but worth it when you get the beach at the end.

A great trail to go with kids. Really nice views of Emerald Bay. We went with a 1.5 and 3.5 year old and they really enjoyed it, especially the beach at the end! It’s very easy on the way down, and steep on the way up (for just about a mile, so totally doable!) Arrive early for parking! Parking area is $10.

This trail was a short drive from South Lake. While parking is limited, you can park at the base of the trail. The trail was easy enough for my four year old to finish and short enough that snacks weren’t required.
The view was breathtaking.

Quick easy hike. Pretty little water fall. took us longer to drive from reno then it did to actually do the hike.

easily accessible

Pretty walk. There are a few homeless people about. But it is what it is! Most of the time they are minding their own business. Still a pretty walk !

Great hike with beautiful scenery

waterfall was gorgeous, hike was up and down so the elevation change was relatively manageable. Not too much traffic or wildlife but theres a decent amount of parking.

Nice easy hike with some great views. Parking can be tricky so get here early when you can. Definitely steep at some points, wear good shoes. Lovely views of the lake.

super super steep but so pretty... it really is worth the hike back up

Beautiful views! Bit of an incline at the beginning, but the trail levels out. My feet were feeling the hike at the end. The waterfall was lovely.

Most difficult part of the trail is staying on trail due to very poor signage and/or markings. The trail has one lackluster lake and dumps you out near some ski runs. Good if you’re in the area and have half a day to kill, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this one.

Overall a short and pretty easy hike with some rocky spots towards the end. Would love to go in Spring to get a chance to see the waterfall after the creek gets some snowmelt. The creek is peaceful right now, and there’s lots of space to take in the view. Beautiful views of the lakes and granite rock formations!

Great views; easy hike

Definitely a scenic hike. Had a lot of different pools to explore and involves a bit of climbing. Great for a quick trip to a waterfall.

Easy hike, and you're rewarded with the beautiful waterfall upon completion.

Nice trail to walk - short and easy to complete in a little over an hour. Views over cascade lake and lake tahoe were very nice.
