I’ve done this hike almost a dozen times, it’s my favorite to bring friends to when they come visit Vegas. The rock scrambling and lack of clear path makes it very dynamic, and the views both during and at the very end are just amazing. There’s a rock I just lay down on at the very end, letting me cloud gaze while getting the best view of the city. Best trail honestly.

Not too challenging! Beautiful views!

5 star hike, perfect hike to go with your family or amateurs hikers. Nice views at the end of the trail.

Lots of people. Trail not greatly marked. Doesn’t really have an “end” to the trail. Saw rock climbers which was fun. Would recommend.

Nice hike took my wife and I 1 hour to get to top. Great views of Vegas. My 50th birthday hike. Life is GREAT!

Neat trial heavily traveled. Just about right for my wife and I. My 50th birthday and made it to the top in 1 hour. Great view of Vegas!

It’s a steady uphill climb that’s a good workout. Great quick hike to get the blood flowing. I didn’t think it was “easy” by any means.

Loved it. Went with an inexperienced friend and she had a blast. Great views towards the end of the trail and plenty of places to stop and grab some nice photos. There are a few places towards the end where kids or pets may have a few issues climbing some boulders but for adults it was awesome!

Went through this trail head today at about 10 o’clock. The parking lot was already pretty crowded and there were plenty of hikers on the trail on the way up to the tanks just take your time and you’ll have an amazing view at the end. Plenty of spaces for you to sit and relax and enjoy the view before you head back. I was even able to see a tarantula crossing the path in front of me which was a bonus.
A Virtual Treadmill video of this hike can be seen on my YouTube Channel, copy and paste link below to watch it. Thanks.

Very good hike with endless possibilities to climb out of the canyon to get great views of the strip!!

Make sure you keep going until your reach the remnants of a camp (structure and fire ring). Nice views along the way. Bring lots of water.

not much of a spring was visible. may just be the time of the year but regardless super fun and moderate hike.

Download the georeferenced map from the Red Rock website. It's REALLY helpful because it's hard to know where the trail goes. It's not marked at all once you get to the bouldering parts, so the map really helps if you aren't intuitive. I don't recommend this as a beginner's hike, as the rocks can be a bit challenging. It's very sunny, and the canyon walls block any breeze so the hike is HOT. The bouldering never gets TOO hard/dangerous - if it does, you've gone off path and missed the various stairs that make it easier.

Nice hike but we traveled this October and there was no waterfall or pond to see. The trail is poorly marked after the first mile. The area is beautiful to see!

Nice, easy hike with great views. Just enough to get the blood pumping. One of my favorite in Red Rock.

Great trail! Pretty easy, not strenuous at all but does have some bouldering and scrambling towards the back of the gorge. Overall, the views were incredible. We were disappointed to not see much water, but it is technically still summer so that was expected. We definitely started early, on the trail by 7am to avoid the afternoon heat but on our way back there were tons of people just starting out. Lots of rock climbers seem to come through this trail, we were half tempted to start following them just to see where they were going but decided otherwise.

First hike in the Mojave Desert. The rock formations and views were beautiful. Don’t stop at the “tank”..... if you’re up for a short steep climb, you’ll soon find yourself on a summit overlooking Las Vegas. The trail had a bit more rock climbing and scrambling than expected for a moderate hike, although we were up for the challenge. Once you get to the rocks, markers are nonexistent and its not uncommon to be looking for the right “path” on the way out. Highly recommend!!

Loved this trail! Enjoyed sitting by the beautiful creek, walking trough the meadow, expansive views of red rocks and climbing through the boulders. I went past the main trail and it was well with the adventure and climbing through the rocks to get to the upper creek. Cairns guided me and I left a few of my own to point the way for others enjoying this trail!

Excellent trail with lots of scrambles over beautiful sandstone rock faces. Don’t be fooled by the park description. This trail requires a good deal of climbing along rock faces and through gaps. It is also very easy to loose the trail so pay attention to where you are going and where you have been. Markers are few and far between once you start scrambling.

Great hike with a bit of bouldering and rock scrambling. IMO not for small kids or most dogs.

Did this amazing and easy hike some years back i think it was 2013-2014. Back than the grapes vines were young and new planted. Did not get to see the full flow waterfall but the spring water was refreshing. Filled my water bottle and no filters back than. Gotta start again.

Nice pace, lots of different levels. Fantastic view at the end.

My wife and I just hiked this trail yesterday 9/7 it was blazing hot 102 but I still had lots of fun scrambling rocks! Not a really hard trail but you can make it more difficult by the path you chose to take. The view of Vegas at the end is well worth the sweat!!

amazing trail, mellow ascend with an intense ride down with drops and exposure /Ikes Peak!

Amazing hike with a great view! On 9/1 we are walking back around 7:30 pm about 100 steps from trailhead walking next to some brush and heard a probably pretty good size rattlesnake. I have done this trail 10 times from mornings to afternoons and never had a run in with rattlesnake only at dusk. If you are at the trailhead and look north you will see big boulders (sandstone quarry) to the left of that there is a skinny cut through on the left side bush is where it was. Be careful in that area.

Easy hike up the canyon with some fun bouldering. The canyon has a lot of dog crap and dog crap bags littering the trail.

It was great! Very easy trail until the last .9 mile. I didn’t make it to the very end but there is a huge payoff with an amazing creek! I can’t wait to do it again to see the final finish

Nice trail! Not too strenuous, just a few places that require a little bouldering. Went out in the heat of the day, but brought lots of water, sunnies, a hat and good footwear (Chacos). Love to do this hike again in the early morning before the heat kicks in.

The trailhead is easy to miss as it's basically a pull off area right next to the road. The beginning of the trail is well marked and easy to follow. A sign says it's a 1.5 mile in and out trail. I'm not sure where the trail actually ends. It went from wide enough for two people to more and more narrow. Eventually I think we were blazing our own trail. The well defined portion of the trail was long enough that you could still get a nice walk in without having to make your own trail. We walked all the way to the base of the mountain. Despite the lack of defined trail, I would certainly give this trail again.

The hike was very horizontal and not suitable for any temperature other than a morning climate. Overall, though, the sights were breathtaking, and it was definitely worth my time.
