Well kept easy trail to hike or snowshoe

Really pleasant lake. Only thing is you can park right next to hit so there's no hiking needed to arrive at the destinations. None the less, super beautiful!

Great views. Lovely wildflowers. Plenty of spots to stop for rest on the steeper parts. We were at Panorama Point for sunset (driving up) earlier this week and heard a mountain lion snarling!
Keep your dogs on a leash for sure! Also, if you’re going to bag the dog poo, take the bag with you! Leaving the bagged poo defeats the purpose of cleaning up after your pet!

Beautiful short hike although it does get crowded. Everything was frozen over and we walked across the lake. You can get some beautiful photos up here! Hiked in November and microspikes were definitely helpful.

Amazing! I agree to go clockwise like everyone else said. It was a pretty steep incline, but after that it was not bad at all. The views were absolutely stunning.

Good for a local front range trail.. some hard packed snow near panorama.

Really nice trail. Well maintained and popular. Lots of cool formations. Favorite part was being on top of the ridge. Saw some snakes.

Good fun hike. Definitely can be made more challenging by other boot beaten paths that have been made.

Gorgeous trail with a variety of different scenery along the way. Breathtaking landscapes, easy to follow, some decent hills to hike.

Amazing

3 couples hiked it together in November 1st , there were several inches of snow on the ground and it was snowing the most big lovely flakes . The sun was peaking through and shinning off the water . How could I not give it a 5 star review ? Easy access , nice beautiful easy hike . We loved it !

Good trail for all age groups. However, it’s a bit rocky but that should be fine. Took us 2-2.5 hours from car to car including breaks. The views at the top are pretty good and picturesque. Would highly recommend during fall season.

Perfect for a light stroll with the pup

Nice hike!

Okay, first the most important, YES there is a bathroom at bottom!

I just went today for the first time with two dogs and they did great. There are some snow remnants around and the trail is a bit muddy, but overall, a very enjoyable hike!

There are some great views and great red rocks to see as you go up the trail. The elevation gain was subtle in some areas, but also a butt burner as you head back at end of trail. There was only one section not clearly marked....it is a steep down trail and once you get down the hill, THEN you will see there it is marked for Red Rocks Trail. When at top, there are three other potential ways...one is a dead end and the other looks like it could head off for a bit. Just be careful of this section, but I don't think you would get far anyway.

I feel tired after and happy. There weren't too many people at 9am and 42 degree weather. So if you dislike the crowds, try going in colder weather. It is still enjoyable!

It had some nice views. We went at the end of October and it was pretty cold so bring jackets. Some snow was off the trail but not on the trail. Not very difficult hike.

I think this is the Mesa featured in on the vintage Coors beer cans. The trail features a lovely view of Golden, Colorado and the surrounding areas.

The views were incredible, but the trail itself was not very well marked (except for the trailhead). We were essentially just following footprints in the snow, and at one point reached a fork in the footprints. We decided to follow a set of footprints that ended up taking us off the trail, and into very deep snow drifts. Microspikes aren’t necessarily required, but waterproof snow boots and multiple layers are essential. It gets very windy up there!

Beautiful roundtrip of Bear Lake. It was a snowy day so not many people on the trail, but it looks like it could be very crowded.

great hike, beautiful views, and a frozen lake.

Not paying $9 for a 2 hour walk, maybe I missed a spot where I can get in on it without having to pay but I just followed the apps directions...

Great short trail. My only complaint is there was a guy with a very noisy drone at the lake that he kept flying around for at least 45 minutes. Sort of took away from the experience.

If you’re looking for a peaceful hike through a forest with some stunning views of peaks but don’t want to give up a lazy Saturday, this hike is perfect. Not too far from Denver and a good workout!

We parked near the entrance to the amphitheater and came down the stairs on the right hand side and out to the trailhead. The sandstone rocks are incredible and are definitely the best part of the trek. The hike itself is fairly easy and the trail is pretty wide most of the way. If you’re visiting the amphitheater, go ahead and do this one.

Pretty easy loop around a beautiful lake. We found parking pretty easily. Part of the trail was packed snow/ice and very slippery. Enjoyed this loop on a beautiful day.

I agree with going clockwise so then you get the panoramic stopping point to have a snack close to the end.

Wonderful trail - very runnable, lots of parking, clearly marked

Easy trail around a beautiful lake. Steep in some sections but only for short distances. In late October the trail on the north side of the lake was clear to wet. The trail on the south side (no sun) was snow packed and icy. Slippery. Even in late October the parking lot was half full.

Hiked here yesterday, beautiful views even with the overcast sky and drizzling rain; made for some unique photos. We enjoyed sitting on the edge of the lake taking in the beauty. I do wish people respected the space and others by picking up their trash and not polluting the air with smoke and music.

I had put off this hike for a long time because I knew it would be crowded and it's so short. I had family in town on Saturday and this is what they wanted to do, and I'm so glad we went! The hike up was short and easy (albeit slippery - would suggest boots). When you get up, it's beautiful - the water was frozen and people were walking on it. We saw some people skiing on part of the slope. Definitely don't stop at the glacier - you can get much better views without much more work by continuing on (so the pond is to your left). You don't have to go to the top to get great views - you can walk up just a few minutes. If you're feeling adventurous, climbing up the rocks in that area is a lot of fun too!

great little hike. the snow was so packed it was pretty treacherous! I slid down the ice more than a few times. still completely worth it! too bad there's no fishing in the lake :P. the trail was pretty packed with other hikers but that made it easier to take our time.
