Fun hike, warmer to the lookout and cooler on the descent down to the lake, took about 1.5hrs to the lookout and 20m to the lake. Overall with lunch and photos 1030a-230p. Very rocky soft soled shoes were rough on the feet!

Just checked this trail today. As some have mentioned, the road to get to the trail is pretty brutal. I have a Jeep and I hit a few very iffy spots. Once you are there the parking is sufficient for about 10-12 vehicles. No facilities nearby.

The trail is in good shape, well maintained, with minimal roots. The bookends of the hike are rocky, but not bad at all. I experienced minimal bugs and people. It was just me and my little 9lb dog and we made it to the peak in about an hour and made it back down in about 45 minutes.

The peak is a sight to behold! Amazing 180 mountain views on a clear day. To get up to the peak there is a cable wire to use, which came in handy! We sat up there for about 30 minutes, had a nice lunch, and prepared for the climb down.

This is easily one of my new favorites for a shorter, moderate hike!

Random note: as we hit about the halfway point I regained cellphone service (AT&T) and the signal grew stronger the higher we went. Which is always nice if there is an emergency.

Gorgeous hike all the way!!! Be prepared for unstable footing, lots of rocks but that doesn’t make it hard, just be-careful. Views all the way up it is a very open hike.

At mile 2 pay attention to the sign to turn right to follow the trail to Snow Lake. Once you hit the top You will go down to the lake, it is worth the half mile walk down to the lake.

Good hike. Great views once you get to the last mile or so. You can see Rainier consistently. Mason lake was beautiful with a lot of space to spend time.

Beautiful fall hike.

Found a drone controller on Poo Poo point trail (the flat area where you can see Mt Rainier). Please reply or DM me if this is yours with a description of the controller. Trying to make sure it finds its owner.

Very heavily trafficked, and slick in the lake basin, but over all very beautiful. Excellent trail maintenance and no snow yet.

Beautiful fall day for my first trip up to see Pete. As others have said, it is a very steep hike once you leave the main trail that goes from Ira Springs to Dirty Harry’s. Although I wanted to traverse over to Defiance, I didn’t have quite enough time remaining in the day, so went down the steep trail. Beautiful views at the top.

You can be in the middle of a forest right in Bellevue. It’s beautiful. Smooth single and double track trail running.

Like it!

Great hike! My ass feels like it got the workout of a lifetime.

It’s a nice easy hike. Beautiful views of bluff, beach, and the Olympic range in the distance. Try to plan your trek just as low tide arrives. The ocean leaves beautiful tide pools brimming with starfish and other animal life.

Perfect hike for a short day trip. I was out and done in less that two hours. That was with enjoying the views and taking pictures along the way. I want to come back and do this in the snow! Also I had two small dogs with me and they did just fine :)

Saw an eagle!! At the lighthouse

Beautiful -- this trail is gorgeous. Did this yesterday (10/6) and there was some light snow in the last mile. Slightly slippery and slushy in lots of places.

Amazing

Great place to go backpacking, plenty of campsites and plenty of trails to hike. Highly recommend climbing Mt. Wright after setting up camp or instead hiking further out to Wildcat lake and camping there.

Did this on 10/2. Absolutely fantastic hike! Not too steep compared to a lot of the other trails in the area. The Snow Lake hike is definitely some of the most “bang for your buck” out here.

Fall colors were lovey, and clouds danced over the water at the lake.

Wooded hike until the very end where the view opens. Moderate hike if you’re in shape. Great view from the top.

Nice easy trails, great to bring dogs on. The loop is 4.4 mi but the network is extensive and you could easily double that if you want.

The trail was in great shape and the weather today was perfect. The views from the top were excellent. I would rate this hike a moderate. (Excluding the Haystack)

Did this hike 9/30, a Sunday. Plenty of parking at 11:30 am. The first couple miles are a gentle incline with pretty fall scenery. The last part to the lake is rock switchbacks that were not hard, just a little slippery from the rain. Parents with babies on their backs and lots of dogs on the trail. I’d rate this hike easy/moderate.

Really an excellent hike, couldn't be happier. The views of the valley and the lake were amazing. Going in late September means all the leaves had turned colors but hadn't fallen off yet. And my dog had a blast playing around the lake. The hike was a solid moderate. It had only a small handful of switchbacks, The slope was pretty consistent - the first half was easy and the second half got pretty steep. It's a good workout, but I saw a handful of kids and a chihuahua climb this, so it wasn't THAT hard. Trail was well maintained and there weren't a ton of people. Took about 4 hours including stops for photos and eating lunch at the lake. Highly recommended! And don't forget to check for the right kind of pass!

Did this on a Saturday with good weather and it was pretty busy. Rocky trail, but the view of the lake is worth it. We attempted to go to Gem Lake but it’s a quicker elevation gain so we turned around after an additional mile in. However the views at all points after Snow Lake towards Gem Lake are breathtaking. Would hike again.
