Lots of wildlife since monsoon season has started. We just went an hour in, hour out. It was evening. Came across a rattlesnake in the middle of our path; he wouldn’t let us cross him so we had to make our own way around to get back. Trail was clear. Only two spots where it was narrow enough that the brush touched us. Didn’t see any goats this time but it was highly trafficked for being so close to sunset. A must do and easy trail for anyone!

I don't really have anything to share that others have not expressed already. Take plenty of water. My biggest piece of advice is to preplan your trip here! My brother and I hiked this as it sits right outside his neighborhood. The views are great and you will be rewarded for your efforts just plan ahead and familiarize yourself with the route beforehand otherwise you may/will get frustrated with the lack of directions. I would wear a good hiking shoe, he lent me a pair of his as I only had cross trainers and couldn't believe the difference it made.

fairly easy trail rocky most of the time. beautiful scenery once past the homes. took me and my younger boys about 3 hours with a couple short breaks. shady 80% of the time coming in if your hiking in early.

Good views. Relatively easy trail. Only took about an hour.

I don't mind the sights and sounds of the nearby city. Beautiful views that change a lot through the course of the hike. Lots of saguaro including young saguaro. Great views of downtown Tucson.

great views of Pusch Ridge, beautiful scenery, quick and easy (about an hour), excellent place to watch the sunset

very fun hike. great views of Tucson and beyond.

This is a lovely moderate hike with great views south looking at Tucson and beyond. A good trail to take visitors on.

Terrific trail. Very pretty, and about an hour in the breeze through the Canyon was wonderful! Servers areas of kush green. Peace and quiet and nature.

I am not from the area (from Corvallis, OR), but it was an excellent hike to enjoy Tucson’s scenery. Great rocky views as you go into the canyon. I don’t think we went all the way to the end of the trail, but we must of been close. The rocky terrain is very doable, but I would suggest hiking boots. Went around 7:30 AM, lots of lizards out to sunbathe!

Good hike. First time on the trail. Saw 3 snakes though...one king snake at the bottom of the trail and two rattlesnakes within .5 from the end of the trail. One rattled and warned us, almost stepped on the other (was around 945 am). Other than that it was fine!

Nice hike with plenty of blooming cacti! Super hot with no shade coverage, bring sunscreen and water. Pretty flat the whole hike.

Easy trail for the most part. Not always well marked. Got off the trail a view times, but found my way back. Good trail for your off workout days. No shade, very hot in the summer.

Gateway to the front range and Pusch Ridge Wilderness. I'll never tire of it.

A quick, rocky little climb that's easy to access off Oracle Rd in Oro Valley. Lots of cholla, prickly pear and saguaros along the way. Spotted a pyrrhuloxia and a few other birds, but no other creatures this time around. Would recommend if you are looking for a short hike that still offers a bit of challenge.

Very rocky, wear your hiking shoes if you have them. Definitely steady incline on the way in. Very pretty hike!

Really great afternoon hike. Tons of wildlife including lizards, rabbits and a Gila Monster =)

Great workout for such a short hike. Nice views, too.
Directions in description are inaccurate! (They lead you to someone’s private residence.) Park at Sanctuary Cove instead, but begin your hike along Scenic Road. The Scenic trailhead is at the end of the road, just passed Star Dance. (No parking is permitted at the dead end/trailhead or Star Dance.)

This is one of the most beautiful trails in Tucson. It goes on and on and on and unveils more and more of the beautiful Sonoran desert.. it really should be done before 1 April. Really really gorgeous enjoyable hike steady uphill not overly challenging.

First time on this trail. Very nice, good hike. Kids were on the trail and had no trouble climbing the "rock" stairs. (what we call them). We were fortunate to see Big Horn Sheep. Beautiful site

Good short, relatively brisk hike. Nice vegetation, nice views of Tucson. Only downside is the car noise, but you get that any time you're in the foothills. Trail ends a bit abruptly, though it's obvious some people go on to the mines once it stops.

Nice easy trail. I lay on the stone beside the river for a while. Watching the blue sky, listening to the music, I spent a satisfied morning.

This is an easy trail for experienced hikers. It took us 1.5 hours (whereas the brochure from the visitors center estimates 2 hours). It is mostly flat and would be good for runners. We went on a sunny day around noon. We had the trail mostly to ourselves with only a few other hikers. The trail is full sun exposure so very important to have plenty of water.

Short but intense. Love the incline!

This was an enjoyable 2 hour hike with my tween daughter. This canyon has a tram traveling a ways up on a paved road. There are 2-3 places within the first half of the hike within view of this road/trolley. We enjoyed 2 crossings on rocks over a low stream. The second half is less busy, and most of the time we felt like the only ones in the canyon, with no sight of the city on the other side of the ridge. Beautiful views. A sign warning of recent mountain lion sighting. The only wildlife sled saw were the small lizards though, which was fine by me!

Great when combined with an out-and-back on the Cactus Forest Trail. Outstanding for trail running. Would be extremely exposed during the summer months.

Starting from the picnic area, there are many excellent cacti and Palo Verde specimens along this easy trail. Tennis shoes ok. Bring water and be prepared for lots of sunshine. Map available at the Visitors Center.

Rough trail! Need lots of water and trekking poles are a must! Bring a first aid kit and some snacks! Pretty challenging for me and my 14yr old son!
