Beautiful trail and relatively easy. Start early as it gets crowded!

Hiked 1/21 some patches of snow towards the higher elevations but nothing icy or too hard to get thru with regular hiking boots. Waterfall is small right now.. but the views the whole hike are worth it.

Easy hike, falls were beautiful. A little muddy but not too bad.

Early morning is key if you want to avoid the crowds, even in January. The falls are beautiful, and it's an easy mild hike. Trails are clear, a bit of mud here and there but not an issue if you're wearing proper footwear.
We explored the main trails and a couple side trails that were far less traveled. You can hear the highway pretty well unfortunately, and there were a few people with dogs off leash.

Awesome hike! Steep climb, but only a mile one way so totally doable. Took 40 minutes to get to the top. There were a few muddy patches, but no snow, so it’s still good conditions for January. It was super sunny today so the views were incredible. Highly recommend for an afternoon hike.

Felt bad for parents with young kids lugging them over slippery rocks and muddy roots. Parents check conditions. You might be biting off more than you anticipated.

little bit of snow spitting at the bottom but definitely sticking at the top. muddy in places but totally avoidable!

My dog and I arrived around 1pm on a Wednesday (January 2nd) and got back to the car at about 2:45pm. We're meandered and stopped a lot. Some switchbacks but nothing too strenuous. It's been dry for a couple days so there were hardly any wet parts of the path. In some places there was mud but still very doable (I was just in running shoes). A little snow just before the tower. The tower gave me sweaty palms, but what an incredible view from the top! We only ran into 3 pairs of hikers during our trip. I may not go again but really enjoyed it while we were there.

Short hike with a beautiful view at the end. The switchbacks suck and conditions are pretty muddy but the payoff at the end is great. A little snowy towards the top and the stairs to the lookout can be icy. Highly suggest going on a clear day to fully experience the mountains around you.

Good easy to little moderate hike with view of river and waterfalls. Waterfall was gushing with water. Enjoyed soaking in mist water at upper Lookout view point.

This hike was perfect for late afternoon. The views are stunning even through the clouds. The sunset peaking put as it went down was majestic. Pretty snow at the top .5 miles as well. Some muddy spots were slippery. The steady incline and short switchbacks were not bad at all to navigate. Great hike.

This little hike was especially nice during a winter morning. The parking lot is conventionally right off of Hwy 2. It wasn’t snowing when we got there, but halfway up it really started dumping. I’d suggest bringing micro-spikes and checking the weather beforehand.

Nice hike with a great view of the falls. Trails were muddy 2/3 in, but worth the walk. Pup enjoyed too.

the trail itself is very good. wouldn't consider easy but moderate. views were amazing.

my vehicle was broken into though. they shattered my window and stole my diaper bag. be careful!

It was a moderate trail. The switchbacks were a bit challenging in damp conditions.

Busy trail on a Sunday, but the views of the river and falls were well worth it.

This was a bucket list hike for me. This hike is by no means easy, it is one of the shortest hikes I have done all year with the longest for me drive time. The road is washed out so you have to hike two or 3 miles to the trailhead. I did this hike in October 2018. I'm glad I did this hike but definitely not one of my favorite hikes of the year. The trail is very narrow and steep up hill until you get to the first lake where it flattens out a bit. Before you get to the first lake you have to crawl over a 6ft or so rock wall. to get to blanca lake (which is a day use only area) it is a steep, treacherous descent. I saw a lot of people on this trail mainly when I was leaving and a couple who didn't think the trail was going to be that hard. When i visited in October there was ice at the lake and the shores of the lake were a lot on the stinky side. This place is very beautiful, but very hard hiking. There is a bathroom at the true trailhead, but it was locked when I visited due to the road washout. Bring lots of water, snacks and electrolytes, you will definitely need it. I would not recommend this trail for anyone new to hiking, families or anyone out of shape.

on Twin Falls Trail

A good 3.7 mile hike round trip to the Twin and Upper Falls. The trail is well maintained and its a good workout as the trail is inclined for the most part. Be prepared for a number of steps. Good resting spots and a nice bridge to view the falls. I rated the trail 4* since there wasn’t anything too scenic or breathtaking sceneries at the end of the trail or on the way. Good workout and a refreshing break if you are looking for a quick drive from Seattle.

beautiful, just very busy trail!

One of the best hikes I’ve ever done. Challenging but worth it. Road is washed out so it’s 2 miles to trailhead. From trailhead you climb 3000 feet in right over 3 miles. At 3.2ish you’ll reach virgin lake, it was frozen over today (11/17). From virgin lake it’s all downhill to Blanca lake, about 0.82 miles. Snow was packed down but yactracks and poles were super helpful.

Very pretty, easy hike. It's great for a fall/winter hike when the skies aren't as clear. Can't believe how many big and small falls there are.

Very tough climb since it’s a steep incline the whole way up and Lots of bugs BUT worth EVERY bead of sweat for the view and experience. Make sure to plan for an hour or two to hang out once you reach the top to enjoy the experience.

on Minotaur Lake Trail

Great trail, steep climb in the first 3/4 of the trail going up, but then levels out a bit to a short trek up before getting to the lake. As a marathon swimmer and relatively new hiker currently experimenting with hike-in/backcountry swimming, the elevation gain was definitely more grueling for me than others on the trail. Slow but steady with lots of water and breaks, made it to Minotaur and what a sight to see! Completely worth it where I enjoyed a wonderful half hour swim in the lake, 38F, beautiful underwater topography. Would be an ideal spot for dual day backcountry swimventure hitting up Lake Theseus on day 2 (don’t forget to go up to the ridge line to view that one). Overall great hike, very much worth it and will absolutely be back!

Rainy snowy hike to the lakes. The trail up to the lake is steep and muddy. It was lightly snowing at the lake. Little snow patches along the lake nothing that isn’t manageable. Tried to go up to labyrinth mountain but had to turn back 1/4 of the way to the summit just shortly after following the creek up just before the last push to the summit across a boulder field. There is a lot of snow up here and no sign of a trail. We had to use Gps most of the way past the lakes weaving on and off what we think was the trail. Crossing the boulder field was to dangerous as there was snow covering the rocks and we couldn’t see below. Didn’t want to risk breaking an leg falling between the boulders. Not much of a view anywhere since it was raining and snowing. Winter has come. Won’t be long before these lakes won’t be accessible till summer again.

Completed this today! The road was the most difficult part for me today. I drove my Hyundai Tucson all the way up. Bottomed our three times. This road is doable I’m AWD and 4x4 vehicles with clearance. The trail was awesome! Light snow at the start and as I gained elevation the snow for deeper of course. I used my spikes on the way down only. Snowshoes would have helped in a few areas but not necessary to complete the trail. Lookout is locked up for the winter but the hike was very well worth the extra effort. DO NOT do this trail in the fall/winter unless you are comfortable with self arrest, know avalanche basics as well as winter survival. There were persons this trail that got a little sketchy. Oh and you can’t be afraid of heights with the added snow the trail is steep and even made me a little edgy at times. Awesome hike!

Tried this on 10/29/18, my SUV couldn’t get up the steep road. The people coming down said snow was pretty deep and you needed snow shoes. I turned around.
