We did not go to the overlook because going to the falls alone is almost 10 miles (roubdtrip), and our dog got to the falls and decided that was all the hiking he wanted to do for the day...

I backpacked into Frazier Meadows for a short overnight in late June. The wildflowers were gorgeous- irises and columbines everywhere. The elevation was constant but worth the efforts. Staying overnight I didn’t see anyone else but could hear one other backpacker somewhere near by. I’d for sure do this as a day hike again!

This hike was absolutely breathtaking. Did it back in April and went up to Mills Lake (limited on time). There was still plenty of snow on the ground still so spiked definitely made it easier. No one was up at the Lake and it was a beautiful, peaceful spot for lunch.

I have been dying to do this hike for about 7 years now.. wELL I finally went and it didn’t disappoint! I got there and there were two cars in the lot lol before sunrise...got down and it was overflowing. 2019 they change regulations on how many can hike a day.. will be limited... so no you can’t get in the water it had a delicate ecosystem.. please follow the rules and be courteous. We love our Mountains!! The hike had a waterfall all the way up!! I found it to be very lovely. If you are familiar with RMNP hikes this is nothing more strenuous than those hikes. If you are not a hiker please take water because I drank nearly my whole camelback and it was a short hike.
Hike is I think moderate to strenuous but who doesn’t want a good workout! Hardest thing is the quick elevation gain.. just go slow enjoy the views!
Expect lots of people who don’t know trail etiquette! I picked up lots of lots of trash left by others.. take it in pack it out please.. if you are short like me 5’2” expect to use the rocks to help climb. Last bit is the hardest part.. KEEP GOING!!! Use the rails at the top scramble.
I saw an American Dipper in the water as well as trout. Gorgeous colors and worth the effort!
I am 6 weeks out from gallbladder surgery and if I can do it so can you!!!
Lots of water and proper shoes are a must!

Absolutely amazing!! We are from Missouri and did this hike while out in CO. Most amazing views, very intense hike but so worth it!! Rough terrain but you are walking along a stream most of the way. Perfect Colorado experience!

Amazing trail. Took the family of five including the 4 year old who made it just fine. Be warned stating in 2019 they are going to cap admittance to 615 a day and we saw at least 1000 people and we started at 8 am. (on a Friday in July) It's easily one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and worth the effort

It was a beautiful hike and worth the uphill battle. It is very strenuous but was able to stop along the way. The views are breathtaking and if you decide to go up a little further you’ll get a surprise.

Very nice hike! Great view at the top! We found the trail very easy to find and that it was well marked. Mixed shade/sun. Just went on a Saturday around 1pm and it wasn’t too crowded at all.

if you enjoy urban sprawl and garbage throughout a park, and of course high speed bikes whizzing by, then this is the place to go! oh and lots of green poop sacks throughout park since no one really manages it. Also a ton of recent heavy equipment tier tracks on north side between idiot developer's neighborhood in flood plain the County loves to RIP up annually protecting homes built in natural wash area. Years ago, this was a nice park, now, just an area that collects urban trash during wind storms full of yuppies discussing their latest stock trades.....AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU WANT A PLACE TO RELAX...

Nice hike with lots of people, I prefer wilder hikes with no handlebars or decks.
It was so crowded that was difficult to find a spot for taking pictures.

This hike was phenomnal! So much beautiful scenery. The hike has quite the incline on the way up. But the views at the top are totally worth it! Make sure to get there EARLY! The parking lot was full by 830am. Besides the parking nightmare, it was perfect. Also, the trail is pretty shaded the whole way which helps!

Absolutely stunning and worth the relatively strenuous hike up (coming from a FL girl). We started this hike around 6:30pm and the temp (in late July) was perfect!! Thanks for the awesomeness Mother Nature!

Decent trail with mixed landscapes with some steep parts but mostly level with gentle grades. A fair amount of bikers with little regard to anyone else.

Beautiful Hike! Get there early (around 6:30a/7a) to beat the crowds. Steep, but totally worth it! Make sure to pack lots of water.

Arrived at 7:30am on a Wednesday...only ones there! Really nice trail. Starts out narrow trail thru thick forest. Starts to open up about 1/2 way up. Gradual incline for first 7/10 of a mile. Then at split to Panorama point, it gets more of an incline. But don’t stop. Last 2/10 are fairly steep, but levels off near top for great viewpoints! We are casual hikers in our 60’s and we made it. Enjoy this beautiful shady hike! Total distance to top is about 1.5 mile with 650 elevation change.

Did this hike with our 10 and 13 year old girls on a stop while biking 14 miles. It was very tough but everyone loved it and there were no complaints. Bring a lot of water. Getting there is very steep and rocky for the majority of the way.

Amazing hike! Best advice I can give is to wear shoes with ankle support. I'm pretty fit, but it's super rocky terrain and rolled my ankle on this trail. I wasn't wearing proper hiking shoes (just good pair of low-top running shoes). I would say this hike is more on the strenuous side just because of the sharp inclines and rockiness of the trail.
As you walk, you'll find little air vents with cool air coming out, take advantage of them!
You'll be tired when you get to the top, but make sure you go to Sprouting Rock! It's really close and beautiful.

Great wildflower hike and tons of aspens!

What a hike! Totally worth it!

Amazing trail if you are in need of getting your heart rate up. It’s mostly uphill all the way around, and the view is beautiful of the mountains and city. Dog friendly and you may even see some horses! Making it to the top is well worth it!

The sun really beats down on you and there isn’t a view that you are making a goal towards to see. But it is nice to be next to a river and also to sometimes see Big Horn Sheep.

Great area, plenty of parking, marked trails, picnic benches and bathrooms. We took our 3 year old and he was able to do the whole trail without any issues.

Fun trail, and the lake is breathtaking.

Forget that it’s touristy, it’s not easy. There’s a reason that it’s popular. It’s a beautiful place. The trail is challenging and rocky in many parts. But it’s diverse enough with many shady places to stop and rest along the creek with little waterfalls and birds. The lake and the views on top are wonderful. Have lunch up there. And I got under the waterfalls partially at Sprouting Rock, just 100 feet up. Don’t get fully under, you’ll get clobbered! Loved the hike.

Went yesterday with my pup. Easy hike and pretty views. Parking and drive in are easy and paved. A few places for the pup to get in the cool water.

This was an amazing hike. It could be difficult for some people due to the terrain. It was so nice. Make sure to go early. We got there at 5:45 am and was the first to the lake. When we were walking down there was a ton of people walking up.

Awesome hike but heavily trafficked. Go in early spring or late fall! And hike further for a surprise!

What an incredible park!! Elk Falls and its Overlook are quite the sights while Marmot Passage and Scout Line trails kept this Flatlander's pulse at Orange and camera clicking outstanding views with the last vestiges of Autumn yellows. The trail map tells me that there's a bunch more to tread. Hurray

Great family day trip with lots of shade. Beware of leeches in the water though!

Nice and easy hike, pretty views. Great for bird watching
