We hiked this trail at night. Beautiful views....not too difficult.

Enjoyed this hike, not too hard but challenging for this 60 yo hiker..

Went in late November, lots of pretty leaves and cool trees

Beautiful view at peak

Not very interesting for a hike, trail is better for bikes or residents in the area.

Moderate hike with plenty of shade once you get down into the main trail. Pretty overhanging brush and trees all throughout.

I lost myself in the water at the end and loved every moment of it. The route we took was the 6 mile route: we parked, walked straight ahead, continued for just over 3 miles, walked down to the water, hung out, chilled and walked back the same way we came. This was a nice "recovery" hike after doing a more challenging one a few days prior. This was long but definitely worth it. Give yourself a few hours though because walking 6 miles takes some time! Lots of shade but there are a few points where there isn't any.

I loveeee this hike!!!! I’m confused on why people are saying it’s not a loop cuz it is but it’s a 11 mile loop. Not 6 miles. That information is incorrect. There’s so many trails the variety is amazing it feels like all different hikes. There’s 2 trails one for hikers and trail runnings and one for bikes and cars possibly. You don’t have to really ever worry about bikes. It’s beautiful and I highly recommend it! Some parts of shaded and a lot parts aren’t. Bring a ton of water and sunscreen. Lots of fun areas! Enjoy :)

Nice hike. The reserve is beautiful. Well marked, clean and easy trail. Didn’t like the asphalt road toward the top on the backside of the dam.

First time on this trail don’t think I will do again, rather boring trail, mostly dirt service road, steep in places but easy trail. Views from top are nice

If you don’t want to battle the crowd on Iron Mountain, this is a nice trail to take instead. Has some good elevation, spots where you can do some bouldering, pretty views. About 4 miles all in all....

Easy practically flat trail. Beware lots of bike riders, some are nice enough to let you know they are coming close. Busy on the weekends. Nice waterfall at the end of the trail to refresh yourself in.

Good hike that can choose a varying distances.

Fun hike for any ages.

Excellent

I went with a group of kids! They kicked butt and I almost gave up:). But here I am, planning to go back! It was beautiful at the top and a couple people in our group went back to run the path... It was quite rocky at points and hiking boots would have been a good idea. Sunny- bring LOTS of water and a hat. Great place to see the neighborhood!

We tried to hike it and it has no trespassing signs once we cross the street from the nursery am I missing something

Awesome views for sunset

This is an advanced skill set MTB trail. Short but steep. Hiking is doable but not recommended as cyclists come around corners at high speed. Keep dogs on leash

first hike of our season. It's a burner. I'm way out of shape and this trail prove it. It's great in the am hours.

I’m giving this a 5 because I thought it was really well marked, maintained, and quiet on a Friday morning. I took some of the side trails to keep my and my little one in the shade and keep him entertained with the water flow. This is the perfect little escape in San Diego when Julian, Romona, etc. are too far for a hike.

The “waterfall” looked more like a watering hole, really. Definitely bring lots of water to hydrate along the way because there will be some parts of the trail that aren’t shaded.

This was a very easy, and nice family hike. There are frequent shady areas, which come in handy midday. I would definitely recommend bringing at least 2Liters of water per person.

This Trail Map App has this Trail marked incorrectly, it is not designated by the county or the city as a loop trail, you can make it a loop but you must know where your going, the county does maintain it but it is not marked anyplace as a “Loop Trail”. This could be misleading to someone who wants to check out manually and run, or walk expecting the trail to “loop” them back to where they started. So pay attention, it is an awesome nice easy family friendly Trail!

Love this trail, I have ridden to Raptor Ridge, one of my favorite trails. Good footing for conditioning, I was able to do lots of trotting. Parking lot is good for all size trailers and is huge and safe. Only issue with the trail is riding up to Raptor Ridge, there is a section which has a single track with a downhill cliff, I was a little nervous and decided to hike and lead my horse both up to the ridge and down.

THIS IS NOT REALLY A LOOP. The Park Ranger really didn't understand why it is listed here as a loop. After running 6.6 miles over quite a few hills, really rocky terrain, and past many warnings about rattlesnakes I took a fall and then found out from a biker that the trail was not a loop and I would have to return 6.6 miles bloody and bruised. You folks really should list this information correctly as it is really rather dangerous to trail runners when you do not. If I had paid for this app I would be expecting a refund.

Super fun and such a great way to get some sweat going.

Pretty nice, very easy. Keep an eye out for the rattlers
