Fun! The way down goes by very quick. I didn't have microspikes but would recommend themfor anyone hiking even with the weather warning up.

It was a quiet day on the trail, conditions were icy going up breakneck. Heading to the beacon we had much deeper Snow, it made for a slippery accent and decent so micro spikes and proper gear is recommended

A lot like a lot of rock scrambling more like climbing down a mountain at the end

Gorgeous hike. Spikes and poles helped in deep snow.

This was my first winter hike and it was beautiful! I went on February 10th with probably close to 24" of snow on the ground. We wore YakTrax and used poles and didn't run into any slippery spots. It's strenuous around 3/4 of the way up but really easy coming down in the snow. A few hikers had come before us so it seems this trail is used year round. We parked on the side of the road right before the section that's closed for winter.

A lot of snow! No ice really today because it just snowed. Wasn’t prepared but great trail along the creek. Really pretty. Lost my mittens though :( would love to return in warmer weather!

Beautiful hike after 20” of snow this week. Snowshoes would have been helpful for part of it but we were able to do it without them. Great day.

Beautiful long trail, a bit rocky at some parts. Perfect with a group. Rock scramble is not for beginners.

It was busier than I would have thought for a 22 degree day, nice views and an overall solid hike.

Definitely a challenge, but a great workout with great views, and not too far from the city! The scramble at the beginning (took me ~40 minutes) is the most challenging part of the hike by far. After the hike, we drove to Cold Spring, a very cute town to see after the hike!

Pretty easy hike, a few scramble sections. If going in the winter I recommend crampons, it makes it easy. Without them it definitely be more challenging, but nothing too crazy. The view is great and for not being a difficult hike, I highly recommend it
