This place is epically quiet. I started at the Purisima creek trail, went left at Craig Britton trail and took another left when it met up with the Harkins Ridge Trail to make the full loop back to the parking lot. It was about 7 miles and took about 2.5 hours. I saw deer, no no mountain lions.

Lovely short hike!!!

Lots of PO this time of year. Otherwise beautiful redwoods and a nice up and back. Take your map. No trail markings. We started left and came back through centre.

Great cliff side hike with periodic framed views west. A few boulder scrambles but well-maintained trail. Obnoxious gun fusillades at the Goat point on the weekend.

Definitely a very nice trail,
probably ideal for hot days because is very well shaded, pretty good balance for ups and downs, not hard, decent.

Beautiful, peaceful trail!

Very nice trail with diverse scenery. Great views from the rock climbing spots.

You get to see people rock climbing its pretty cool!
Nice Hike

Glorious views and magical trek through the redwoods.

I started the trail from Saratoga Toll Road Trail (to the left) because through Indian trail it said no trespassing. Most of the trail goes through forest and the crossroads sometimes did get very confusing, because of no markings and they were not in my map. At the end of the trail it said you need to sight up somewhere, but there were no papers or anything; behind the fence it said you need a permission to go through from the park... very confusing. Overall it might be a nice trail for people who like to hike in forest, but nothing too entertaining for me, and confusing with no markings and that private property.

Went early on Sunday morning, 3/4. Take the unmarked trail to the left of the trailhead sign to go directly to Castle Rock. Didn't seem worth it to me, but to each their own. Some snow on the ground from yesterday's storm, with the sun melting snow in the trees. Wasn't expecting rain! Once I got to the falls I didn't need my raincoat. Despite the rain from yesterday, the falls were just more than a dribble. Nice hike on the Saratoga Gap side, but the Ridge trail gave much better views. It was more difficult with roots, steeper climbs, and boulders/rocks on the path, but worth it. Took me 3.5 hours with a lunch break. Nice area just west of Goat Rock to have a picnic. I hope to come back one day to do the Skyline to the Sea hike. Love having a wooded trail this close to home!

Beautiful trail, with a few rocks to casually climb and get hidden gorgeous views:)
Trail itself is well maintained.

Many ups and downs. Great mountain views. Fun to watch rock climbing and bouldering.

Wet nice spot to hike, the views are incredible at some points, there is a look out deck about 2 miles in, and if u go a little further, there’s a huge rock on the edge of the cliff if ur brave enough to climb and sit and take an amazing photo..definitely would return here.

IMPORTANT FOR DOGS: the last part of ascent (last 500m) does not allow dogs. My wife stood with my dog while I was checking this section. That is a shame because this is the section where you get the best views of San Jose. Definitely hard but not exhausting. Some parts get fairly steep.

Great hike. Well shaded. There were more hikers and bikers than would have liked but there were long stretches where no one could be found. A lot of crisscrossing of other trails so make sure you are aware. All in all great hike.

Beautiful nature. A touching calmness.

Gorgeous and challenging!

Gorgeous variation in ecosystems and a touch climb up Black Mountain. Great workout and the perfect length for a morning or afternoon hike!

Beautiful trail, but could be better marked. Fortunately, I passed just enough people on a late Sunday afternoon to assure me I was going the right way!

Great trail! Nice ocean view about half way in.

The trails are heavily trafficked but feature good paths among redwoods and a large meadow. Views are mostly limited. Enjoyable and there are many opportunities to tailor the route to your liking.

I agree this is a nice walk and at a moderate level EXCEPT for about 1/4 mile which is really steep. Parking much better on Woodside road side when compared with starting from the skyline side.

We did the hike up to Mt. McAbee viewpoint. It was okay, but the views weren't extraordinary.

The trail was great but the trail map showing the route is wrong.

After taking a slight detour on to to castle rock trail, we headed back to Saratoga gap trail then on to goat rock trail. Tried to go on a side trail (climbers only trail) seen on this map to bypass backtracking but it is apparently private property— there was even a sketchy red sign saying people should “heed the warnings”.. didn’t risk it. We went left at the fork on Saratoga to castle rock falls first, then back around down (or up rather) ridge trail. Overall, great hike!

Love this trail, traffic isn’t too bad getting there via Woodside Rd.

Great trail! Beautiful the whole time. Not easy but moderate :)

Great hike. Wear a good pair of hiking shoes, bring two bottles of water, snacks, and a trekking pole to help with the incline.
