Easy hike for the whole family with fantastic view of Peyto Lake at the overlook.

Absolutely gorgeous, one of the best views I've ever seen. Very easy. The trailhead is at the north end of the first parking lot. It was not too busy since it is winter, but there were more people here than most prefer places (except Lake Louise).

Nice easy trail! Was great but you only need to do it once in my opinion

Nice views around the middle and a little waterfall at the end. Not a long trail.

This was an awesome little trail! Just did it last week with our baby and the frozen falls at the end were pretty :)

Big bonus for so short and relatively easy trail.

Easy hike, lovely views in the canyon - get here early as the trail gets busy!

Took the fam here last year, was awesome, busy but awesome.

went on Nov 11th. Temp -5. Sunny and snowed a little bit.
watch out for deer bo(p)m(o)b(o)s(p).
Very light and easy Trail, and close to town so u get a bit of road noise. if you're in the area and are looking for a nice light walk, it's not a bad Trail to take. the river was partially frozen, watch out when you walk on the ice because we almost fell in.

This should really be rated as easy- if you can do it in jeans it’s not that difficult. Beautiful views of Banff at the top, great hike if you want to squeeze something quick and easy into your day. Wise to bring spikes in winter- there were a couple sections where they would have been appreciated.

It looks photoshopped in real life.

Really nice and easy but don’t go there when it’s cloudy , the end of the trail was completely fog :( but still nice hike for beginner !! I enjoyed it with my dog and women ! It took us 3 h back and forth

Easy, beautiful hike with tons of wild flowers in the Summer!!

great scenery and not too tough for two old and out of shape prairie girls

Johnston Canyon was awesome—is great if you love water. The river through the canyon was beautiful. Easy hike on paved trail. The trail to ink pots was a bit more difficult, but not too intense. We rented crampons and made heavy use of them (lots of steep icy inclines). The ink pots are nestled in a valley next to the upper river. While not as bright blue as we expected due to the cloud cover, they were still amazing. The surrounding mountain views are awesome too—we sat for a while and had a snack before making the trek back.

Trail was ok. Very rocky. Starts out near the lefarge plant.. kinda interferes with the nice scenery part. Waterfall is small. Nothing in the cave. Meh

nice hike.

After seeing Johnston Canyon, you can continue the uphill and slightly monotonous trail to the Ink Pots. The Ink pots are pretty cool and there’s a steam near them, but I would spend time hiking elsewhere if I had it to do over again.

Cute little hike with the puppers! Just looking to get out definitely recommend!

This this one about 3 weeks ago. Loved Johnston Canyon! Was a tiny bit disappointed with the Ink Pots, but still a very beautiful place.

Just wow...must-see waterfalls. The trail was good, easy peasy up to the upper water falls...from there to the summit, cardio-strength exercise...btw, it was a bit icy, but I made it with running shoes...from the summit to the ink pots, cleats must be worn, sharp slopes covered with ice. In total, I loved it :) take a look at photos I took

Short and nice. Windy but not as bad as windtower! Will go back in the summer for a change of season!

Nice fall hike. Great condition for late in the year as of Saturday, October 27. Only hiking shoes required to the top.

A quick and easy hike, definitely family and pet friendly. Do not go to Nakiska as they’ll advise you to turn around. From Mount Allan Drive, turn right on Stoney Trail which descends into the parking lot. Can start at the trailhead in the trees or take the clearing and then left to get to the falls. I recommend going to the upper falls after. Trail is well used and marked. Very scenic with several mini water falls.

Amazing view at the top, definitely gets steep towards the top though but it goes by fast! Took us 2.5 hours total with a stop at the top. Not marked that well tough. Lots of people, no snow yet

This was my first ever serious hike loved it amazing views at the top. Busy in the summer

It was a nice uphill hike with beautiful views.
